  1. Comic for Monday, Sep 13, 2021

My impression was that it was Rhoda's remembrance of someone talking to Catalina, that it was whatever had them both too excited to sleep. It was the faded way the scene was presented, and the female character's hair was similar to some of Pandora's hairdos. I put down the teacher's hair to misdirection by Dan. Who has, so far, a near 1000 batting average at misdirecting me.
  2. Story Monday September 06, 2021

A thought just struck me. What if one aspect of Magic's change is too make it easier for people to hide the fact that they have it? This would explain Catalina's sudden ability to keep a secret from Susan.
  3. Story Monday September 06, 2021

Two people who love her think it plausible that Susan would get Ice Magic. One really good reason for her to turn to Grace as a therapist is that Grace is likely durable enough to survive a Susan breakdown.
  4. Story Friday September 03, 2021

First Rhoda, and now Catalina act out of character, at least so far as close friends are concerned. Side effect of Magic? Of a happy romantic relationship? Just starting to grow up a little?
  5. Comic for Wednesday, Sep 1, 2021

Story here. "Subtlety" is Susan's middle name. Or not. As a side issue, what kind of ads are you guys seeing? Apparently, I desperately need to know about string trimmers and chain saws.
  6. Comic for Monday, Aug 30, 2021

Story here. Susan's later career as a monster hunter was cut short when the monsters discovered she could be totally discombobulated by the mere mention of "things."
  7. Comic for Wednesday, Aug 25, 2021

Story here. Not the way I thought Diane would learn how to divide by zero, but there it is. Will this make Diane lose her certainty that Rhoda would run to her the minute she got magic?
  8. Comic for Monday, Aug 23, 2021

I expect that a number of people, probably including Rhoda, are in for a surprise. On the plus side, having Lucy learn about magic this way means that Diane will have fewer secrets to keep from her girlfriend.
  9. Comic for Friday, Aug 20, 2021

Quoth the Dan: " Anyway, friendly reminder that this is all happening before pretty much everything in part one. " Part one was all about how magic wasn't working the way people expect it to. Diane and Rude Dude may not be the only ones in for a surprise, come Monday.
  10. Comic for Wednesday, Aug 18, 2021

Story here. Well, now, looks like Rhoda's normal "Must tell Diane everything" subroutine got bypassed. When she and Catalina discovered their magics, she received both another confidante and someone else's secret to keep.
  11. Comic for Wednesday, Aug 18, 2021

    Done. That's just weird.
  12. Comic for Monday, Aug 16, 2021

"Pride goeth before a fall." Seems to me Dan has explored this theme before....
  13. Story: Friday, August 13 2021

Yeah, I whiffed that curveball too.
  14. Comic for Friday, Jul 30, 2021

Fascinating point, how many of us still hang with our high school buddies? Several decades after high school, I'm close friends with people who happened to attend my alma mater, but I don't often see anyone I was close to, back then. Grace is a special case who cherishes her friends, both because she's Grace, and that's how she rolls, and for the eminently practical reason that they are confidants she can really confide in.
  15. Story: Monday, July 26 2021

I don't recall, but you have guessed the correct order of creation.
  16. Story: Monday, July 26 2021

Years ago, someone asked what the Main Eight would do after high school, and I speculated that Grace would go on to champion the rights of human-animal-alien crossbreeds such as herself and her family by founding the Hybrid Underground Governance Society (H.U.G S.), the world's most pacifistic secret society.
  17. Story: Monday, July 26 2021

Tedd can probably write his own ticket. What about Grace?
  18. Comic for Friday, Jul 23, 2021

Introspection has never made Elliot happy. Maybe because he's smarter than he lets on.
  19. Story: Monday, July 19, 2021

Story here. Looks like Camdin is a little unclear on the concept. Now I really want to know who he ran away from.
  20. Story: Monday, July 19, 2021

There are some frightening things in and about Moperville; Darwin's knife cuts both ways. That's an interesting notion--that only certain kinds of people would be inclined to develop their magic. If the non-Noah silhouette in this comic isn't Catalina, do you think it could be Hedge?
  21. Story: Monday, July 19, 2021

So, who in Moperville is scary enough to freak out Camdin that Luke doesn't already know? Nanase and Ellen, not in the mood to be bothered? Raven and Noah, ditto? The griffins?
  22. Story Wednesday July 14, 2021

And no hammers. Susan has become quite fond of Elliot. We knew that, but it's nice to see that they can go into uncomfortable territory and stay friendly. I'm trying to imagine the negotiations when the southbound Polar Bear Commandos meet the northbound Penguin Deathless Army of Rage.
  23. Most likely, we'll get some closure at some point, but I was looking forward to meeting the griffins again, rather than just having Ed and Elliot argue over worst case scenarios and what to do about them. I'd like some action on the Kaoli front, and a Magus sighting, at least. In my fantasy canon, Elliot visits Magus's world and gets some training in how to fight while flying.
  24. Does anyone else feel something is missing?

    Hence, the need for Kaoli.
  25. Comic for Monday, Jul 12, 2021

I would watch the hell out of any of these. In the right hands, any of them (I would have particularly high hopes for Olaf and the March Hare), they could be fascinating characters.
