He's not good at it, the connection thing. Both Raven and Ellen were quite surprised that Noah and Elliot became friends so quickly. I think it would take a formal introduction from someone who knew both of their secrets. Diane's not quite that person, yet, though she might be by the end of the evening. Too bad my bingo card has always been Elliot.

This is very nearly Noah's dream: someone (besides Raven) he can be "out" to. If only he knew that his friend Elliot would take all his secrets in stride and introduce him to several other people who would accept him, as well.

Just reread the whole arc so far. Playing compare and contrast with the thoughts and reactions of the various characters has been a lot of fun. Nanase not quite being able to get into it yet is perfect. -
The Boy Who Hated Secrets may not have the best judgement here. However... This might work. For a while. Explaining how she knows that Raven is her father, without telling them about magic floating grandmothers who kind of died right after telling her will involve a lie of some sort. So will explaining who Susan is.

Interesting insight. So many years ago that I can't recall the title, I read a book that described economies as "complex ecosystems." The idea was that changes in one part would affect others parts in unpredictable ways. You seem to be headed along similar lines.

Which is why I'm wondering whether that's what has Diane alarmed, or if Miss Quick-on-the Uptake has already figured out that there are wheels within wheels.

I wonder whether Diane is upset at having to deal with Raven as a teacher again, or if she realizes just how convenient this move is, and is already forming a conspiracy theory about it.

I was told the same, once, by a guy who was planning to specialize in building dome houses. He though he had a fix. -
Who knows what she was taught in the lab before Damien showed up, her education could be pretty good. Besides, her unique abililitiesmay make up for whatever deficiencies she may have, otherwise.

She knew before today that he didn't know he had made Diane's biological mother pregnant. Today she learned that he subsequently took in a orphan who seems happy that he did. She just learned that he helped defend Ellen against a wizard sworn to kill her. On the whole, he seems like a decent fellow.

He has probably figured that there is something odd about someone who can keep up with him, and once he learns that Ellen has magic and her origin story it's not too hard to fill in the blanks. -

Which isn't exactly a violation of trust, I suppose, but It's a big deal, nonetheless. Not that Diane knows it, but Noah has to be aware that something is going magically with Elliot. Which could lead Noah to a few interesting deductions of his own. This could open several cans of worms that have been festering for some time, now. -
