And finally confirmation of what's happening: All enchantments are split between them: the "proportionally small" one, the "taller" one and the change. And given the "taller" was just +75%, while the "smaller" was 1:7 ... Also, finally catgirl Rhoda. I was waiting for it
  2. You know, when I saw "Teddy Hammer" I immediately thought Tedd would have to be involved. Is that bad? Not as bad as seeing "ring" and thinking about Sauron.
  3. Yup, and it feels little rushed. Best part of the sequence Although ... maybe the best part is the smile on that last frame.
  4. The only other alternative would be Magics flair for the dramatic and possibly trolling, or just a gentle nudge (or rather kick in the rear) saying "hey! you don't read your spellbook so here's an awkward moment where you find out about it." Cheerleadra 2.0 (and the cellphone merge) would be Magic increasing the awkwardness. Not sure what it would be alternative to, but Magic "gentle nudging" to make people aware of new spells when they fail to notice them themselves IS what I was speaking about. Yes. Was not new spell and was certainly related to energy buildups. Yes, another "gentle nudge". This is similar to how Rhoda is "discovering" new spells in current NP, although it's powered more by opportunity. Actually, we can add Nanase's guardian spell .... and all marks given without knowledge, Sarah's being great example. Without using it, yes. I didn't think too hard about it beyond the idea of Susan waking up in a bed full of hammers. ... full of hammers? Hmmm ... true, she was able to summon three at once when it even wasn't her spell, maybe she can summon enough of them ... still, the hammers are supposed to be shortterm spells.
  5. Story Wednesday December 14, 2016

Yes, but that was Edward's decision then--to STOP giving misinformation, now that the kids were in too deep. Way back when Grace first showed up, he wasn't willing to tell them the whole truth about her origin. After the kids had gotten in deep trouble fighting Damien, was when Edward became certain that they needed to know what they were doing. Already got that idea ... ... ditto. Although I wouldn't think it was specifically hedgecat breeding farm ... either hedgecat was one experiment they did (well, twice) and then tried something else, or, more funny idea, they wanted something else but some cat messed up their samples. I would think if someone would be deliberately breeding hedgecats it would be mentioned, because only likely reason is for selling them as pets. Unless Edward stopped them before going public. That could work.
  6. But, Elliot had already morphed before going to bed, that should have taken care of the energy that had built up and slowed the buildup of more energy. Also there were no other cases of him accidentally morphing while asleep after that and we know he was still having the buildups months later. Elliot's subconscious triggered the spell which would be more a sign of an undisciplined mind than whacked out energy buildups. Technically, there were no other cases of him accidentally morphing WE KNOW OF. Except one sketchbook which may not be canon. Also, undisciplined mind would likely trigger more often too, wouldn't it? I think it only happened once because only once he actually get that spell. New spell he didn't know about.
  7. Story Wednesday December 14, 2016

Is it? I think it would be funny if someone under orders to infiltrate some organization end up leading it. Which is something he later said he will never do. At least not to Tedd. Because, as I already mentioned, misinformations are dangerous. Yes ; there are lot of ways how to get Jeremy to Edward, but there seem to be none to get Max to Adrian ... if he's from that lab and not from some earlier case which Edward solved with Adrian's help back when they still were friends.
  8. Story Wednesday December 21, 2016

Hmm, if Pandora's hatred of Abraham went way back, then she might even be responsible for the Diamond seeming to "attract" cursed people--she would have "guided" them to it, in order to trigger Abraham into coming out of his hibernation so that she could take another crack at him. Alternatively, her or any other immortal guided them to it just to have fun.
  9. Considering dreams causing spells to be cast is canon. I wouldn't be surprised if Susan didn't summon fairies or something in her sleep. Note two differences: first, this was first casting of that spell, before he knew about it. Second, he was dealing with energy buildups. I think that energy buildups, just like being marked without knowledge, are cases where you are likely to cast spell subconsciously because you can't cast it consciously, as you don't know you can. Meanwhile, Susan READ her spellbook and then likely tested her spells. And she was awakened properly. This is situation which makes unlikely she will cast anything from sleep. On who? Mrs. Pompoms? Or you mean summoning hammer without actually using it, just to hug it?
  10. Story Wednesday December 21, 2016

No, eyebrow fairies. They have a different union. Sure, but are related. Second cousins or something.
  11. Story Wednesday December 14, 2016

He certainly has been more up front with them since that incident, I think he's also realized that the main eight are very likely to find out things on their own whether he's involved or not so he figures he might as well try to guide them as best he can. Though I wouldn't say that was the last case. While Nanase and Ellen have learned some things, I think there's still much that Edward hasn't disclosed about what happened between him and Noriko, let alone what he's told Tedd about it. There is "not disclosing" and there are misinformations. Edward explained the difference. Although, yes, there are few things especially around Noriko which he seem to actively lie about ...
  12. Story Wednesday December 21, 2016

Possible, but I think it's more likely Pandora would have dealt with Abraham as soon as she found out his part in creating that werewolf, and Blaike was killed kind of a long, long time ago. Actually, I suspect Blaike was killed before Abraham was born. Although we don't have clear timeline on either ... Agree, it seems that Pandora is not aware of what Adrian speaks about and just assumes he blames her for that due to that "monster magnet" aspect of high magic area. ... I see clear similarities ... I start to suspect it never gets to it, that they part way without clearing this ... Eyebrows that go over the hair are common even in non-magical webcomic worlds It will likely be related to hair fairies.

Actually, she might've been startled by her own tail. You think? I still think Rhoda is smaller than normally. But their RELATIVE size seem to return to normal - Catalina looks as much bigger than Rhoda as normally, but I think both are smaller than normally. Still waiting for Rhoda getting cat ears and tail ... Or would they try - GASP - WITHOUT spells now? Well, without any other spells. After all, they are still transformed. Noone would recognize them. Disagree. Rhoda grew BEFORE that image and, again, I think Rhoda already lost her foot and half in last two comics. So, either artistic error or their size oscillate or something. Confirmed by today's comics commentary:
  14. I would guess that even in higher ambient magic field of Moperville, this would be too complicated spell to put in watches and let untrained people to cast it. His transformation watches are not as good as Rhoda either. Unlikely. Just sleep summoning would be interesting by itself, but not being able to do it consciously, now, when she read about it in book? We lost the chance to see her sleep-summoning fairy and not realizing it when it was spell she didn't know about. Or all look up simultanelujsly at mom and hiss menacingly. Or more likely, this being EGS, all fly over to give mom a hug. That doesn't have anything to do with this being EGS. The fairies are directed by Susan's subconscious. They would do what Susan would think about doing. And while hug would be in list of options and hissing not, most likely reaction would be to hide. So, imagine her seeing the dolls, then seeing some fluttering or turning over, get closer to see better ... and fairies would look up at her, take off and scatter. And Mrs. Pompoms would blink twice and look at the glass in her hand suspiciously ... It usually would. I think the subconscious is only active in REM phase. But, maybe Mrs. Pompoms per chance will came while Susan is dreaming ...
  15. Story Wednesday December 14, 2016

I didn't really want to bring this up, but Jeremy's spines need not exactly match that of a hedgehog's, and there is one particular part of the male body in I think both humans and at least cats as well that hardens sans shapeshifting... That's true, but even AFTER getting hard it still isn't hard enough to work as spine. Sure, there are things which it can perforate, but ... That may be, but I was not referring to the explanation itself, rather that Edward did infiltrate the lab. If he did so, he most likely would not want/be allowed to have a high rank (higher ranks draw attention), and so not "in the need to know". Trying too hard to get quickly to higher rank draws attention. If you get there because the infiltrated group is incompetent or have lack of good people ... ... but, yes, it is likely Edward got this version BECAUSE he didn't get too high. Which would also suggest he couldn't just develop a pet. On the other hand, if Jeremy isn't first generation but second or third - result of the true experimental animals from when they were starting being "reused" as pet by scientist ... maybe Jeremy isn't so unique and there are dozens of "cats" like him. Would explain why Adrian Raven got one: he probably though it's enchanted, took him home then found it isn't. But note also: ... him not being head of paranormal doesn't explain why he wouldn't know the truth from Dr. Sciuridae. It's weird that they get so close without Edward getting true story. The bit about all being created at once instead of one after other doesn't even make sense in the "Grace is not in need to know" theory. He might've just withhold the bit about why was Grace created. It's most likely this was retconned. Or maybe this was THE last case where Edward tried to not tell the truth to them and how it ended was reason why he decided it was bad idea and it would be better to never feed them misinformations ...
  16. Story Wednesday December 14, 2016

For normal hedgehogs (who lack shapeshifting), I don't think those spines can get harder. You DO realize that this explanation was later declared "version for people who are not in the need to know"? Grace was about 13 at that time. That must've been long time after Edward and Raven stopped talking.
  17. Or Tedd and Grace. Seriously, any pinup can be actually Tedd and Grace "testing" new forms. Except the pinups with more than two people. Probably.
  18. Story Monday December 19, 2016

She herself may not connect it, even if she researched it. Not that knowing Sarah would help without talking with her. Note that Raven not seeing Pandora for years doesn't mean Pandora not seeing Raven for years. Raven might just assume she knows. And I think she does know. Her "I'm doing this for family" hype is not related to violation of immortal laws and therefore it's failure can't endanger her. Except, obviously, she can get even more crazy. Agree. Although hard to say if it's because of what he's saying or because of how angry he is. I don't think Jeremy is suggestible when pumped with power ... also, he is unlikely to have summoning talent. Considering she already stopped doing it, I'm not so sure she need more harshness ...
  19. NP Monday December 19, 2016

    ... I think you overestimate Rhoda's self-control.
  20. Story Wednesday December 14, 2016

Also, that "in this state of potential aggression the spines actually get harder and become more like spikes than spines" suggests shapeshifting.
  21. Story Wednesday December 14, 2016

Why would they want to shape shift? They're cats. The most perfect beings to ever dominate this planet. Just ask them. That doesn't mean they couldn't. Also, obviously they are better than cats.
  22. NP Monday December 19, 2016

The "camera angle" that Dan used in this page makes it tough to tell, also we don't see enough of Rhoda to get a good size comparison, the shrinking/growing may not have been complete either. As it is, It looks like the size enchants have been cancelled, but we'll see Wednesday. Hence "I think". It's not clear, but I THINK she is smaller. And yes we will see in Wednesday and also get explanation from Pandora. Agree. Disagree. Rhoda grew BEFORE that image and, again, I think Rhoda already lost her foot and half in last two comics. So, either artistic error or their size oscillate or something. Hard to follow, but I see I'm not only one who think Rhoda is smaller than normally.
  23. NP Monday December 19, 2016

I think even on last frame they are not at same size. Or rather same ratio to original. Of course, we don't know if that's all ... but to me, it makes more sense for them to end up with same ratio. Now, question is what ratio would that be? I think she is SMALLER than normal in last frame. And that what happened is that the ratio from their resizing enchantments averaged. Not directly related to the disguise, it's just that the disguise connected those two enchantments ...
  24. Well, this is canon. And it's as close as we are going to get, in canon any way. Why do you think so? Sure, I don't expect to get porn or even just the level of erotica from pinups to appear in canon, but we may get something which shows less but suggest more. After all, we got MV5. Which is canon, contains more erotica that I ever expected in canon and suggest even more. Also, Dan might just explicitly declare some pinups canon. Which may either include this or something which would be closer.
  25. Story Wednesday December 14, 2016

I don't think it was explained either, and it doesn't seem like it only applies to Grace, she had asked if her and her brothers aged at an accelerated rate, Dr Sciuridae said no, that he was right about it not working that way. Maybe it's the egg that does this rather than the combination of DNA, because Hedge and Guineas was only created with human and animal DNA, Vladia was various animals, human and Uryuom DNA, and Grace was animal, human, Uryuom and Lespuko. So if all 4 of them age slower than normal then it's likely because of the method of conception, it makes sense that if the egg can guarantee the success of creating a hybrid from seemingly incompatible species, there's probably other benefits of using an Uryuom egg. In commentary, Dan mentioned it's related to shapeshifting ... well, all of them can shapeshift, although not all as good as Grace ... also, this raises question if Max and Jeremy could shapeshift ...
