  1. Story, Friday December 9, 2016

I don't think that would fit the data. Obviously, Noriko and Mrs. Kitsune grew together and I think Verres and Kitsune remained close until Noriko left. Afterwards, they still visited sometimes (note that Nanase remembers Tedd so withdrawn she though he's mute) but got more and more apart. But Dunkels and Verres likely didn't knew each other until Elliot met Tedd. And Mrs. Pompoms? Why should she have any connection to anyone else? (Meanwhile, you forgot Browns, who were apparently close to Dunkels.)
  2. NP, Friday December 9, 2016

She might already be able to, if she can get that small in full squirrel, why couldn't she get that small in any other form? It might not be allowed kind of mixing ...
  3. Story, Friday December 9, 2016

I though PTSD is already in psychiatrists area ... but ok, I'm not exactly sure what's the difference ... Susan apparently avoided both. Which was good idea, because if they get from her she killed vampire ...
  4. Story, Friday December 9, 2016

Few weeks their time. More than three years of our time. Talk about perspective ... Yes. While interesting theory, it's just theory. They didn't needed to meet. If Susan somehow avoided psychiatrists, she might avoided telling anything to Mrs. Pompoms as well. In fact, they agreed to not tell anyone about knowing the other ... (I'm also curious how she avoided Mr. Verres ...)
  5. Comic Dec 7, 2016

When Rhoda glomped Diane saying "Thank you!" Diane was clearly blushing, which continued even when Grace hugged her. (Looking really closely at panel 5 ...) ... ok. Objection withdrawn. Which confirms that her being attracted to girls doesn't mean she's not attracted to boys. I'm speculating that Diane doesn't consider what happened when she was dating boys as personal. That was like a job to her. None of that was personal. However getting close to someone who she does have feelings for might be very scary for her as she then looses the control she's had in previous relationships. Letting someone inside her armor is scary. That armor has protected her from being hurt, but if she let someone in she's vulnerable. Besides she's probably afraid of what they would think of how she's used boys before. She's very intelligent, and is probably aware that a lot of people thinks that she's been a bitch the way she treated those boys. She's got a small group of friends whom she trusts, but she's got some shields in place even with them, keeping secret just how much they mean to her. And that is what I meant by say that Diane might be uncomfortable with close personal relationships. Which means that while Susan is uncomfortable with PHYSICALLY close relationships, Diane might be uncomfortable with different meaning of "close". Under influence of transformation which changes her sexual preferences. Doesn't count. That's true but it doesn't mean they are unable to. I still think both are primary attracted to boy Elliot.
  6. NP, Wednesday December 7, 2016

Grace would likely accept that challenge. We don't know if the cookies Mr. Kitsune talked about were bought, made by Mrs. Kitsune or made by Mr. Kitsune ...
  7. NP, Friday December 9, 2016

Based on Dan's commentary it's obviously related, but we still don't know WHY it's mistake ... Not really. They still can just wait for the enchantments to end. I suspect the mistake would have something to do with either the enchantments interacting somehow, or ending in hijinks-causing order. And she's unlikely to notice as there is likely even more dark there than depicted. The boar was deliberately (although probably without understanding exactly what it was doing) feeding power to make its enlargement persist. It would certainly end sooner or later. I think it couldn't tap into ambient energy because it's animal and not person. No. Even "reality unto itself" enchantment would still expire. Only permanent thing (we know of) is the sex change Tedd can do, which changes base form. Vladia is a special case for EXACTLY the same reason as Grace - namely, being Tulougol Seyunolu (greater chimera). Transformations don't enchant her, they just change her shape and give her form. (Although, without being part lespuko, she can't mix and match forms.) Vladia never TRIED to change since she got that form - it's possible she could now change freely. Her full squirrel form is close, so it MAY work ... Maintaining the simulation have very small power requirements but it likely has some, and thirst will become issue after few days of real time (weeks of simulated time?).
  8. NP Monday December 5, 2016

The drawing enemies away part makes lot of sense and it would likely be between reasons why she's in Europe and not just different city. I don't think it's reason to divorce, though. More like "I can't be with them to protect them directly, so better be far away." Otherwise, Adrian would be aware of that. Unlikely. So far we didn't see any kind of magic resembling this kind of curses. First, time travel is not possible and this kind of prediction wouldn't be reliable. Second, while the idea of her marrying Tedd in girl form in attempt to ensure she won't marry her son is funny, they look too similar to not notice the resemblance. As Noriko said, they did for her bloodline. She sounds as if Tedd was first child without magic in her bloodline, which is a sample size of 1. (Actually, 0, as Tedd had magic.) I think if she knew in advance how good Tedd will be with magic wands (so, basically what we knew just after Whales), it would be good enough for her. It was the magic analyzing wand reporting incorrect result which labelled Tedd failure. ( ... convinced why? ... just rhetorical, because we both know she had no reason we know of to suspect that)
  9. Pinup Single Dec 8 2016 - Sarah

... if you consider playing around in simulation "job" ...
  10. We Begin Anew!

I'm seeing your's and mine. How are you viewing the site? I don't see them either. Is it possible you have them cached?
  11. NP Monday December 5, 2016

Not to me. From sample size of 1, very little can be concluded. If the goal would be specific gender, then yes the trials are independent. She believed that another magical bloodline would be better than normal person. No reason to change that belief, especially if data she based on it still holds (possibly her father and her mother father, if her "magic user bloodline" was female). People from know magical bloodline in acceptable age and single are likely not so common. Just trying to get one randomly would definitely result in lower chance than another try with Edward.
  12. Comic Dec 7, 2016

Well, Diane was blushing with Rhoda. No, I think she only started blushing when Grace also hugged her. BTW, another think Susan would hardly be able to survive. No, she considered the possibility of BECOMING a lesbian. It was strictly rational though. (Also, I don't think she's ON Kinsey scale.) Why? She can also be bisexual. Her "hopefully platonic " crush on Nanase also doesn't say anything about her liking or not liking boys.
  13. NP Monday December 5, 2016

That doesn't explain the "frustrated dreams" parts. And there is no clear line of fanatism - that's why it's so easy to cross it. Otherwise yes, her going too far in that direction was clearly implied if not directly said in comics. Question is, how much of that is cause and how much effect - it's quite likely she immersed even more into her work after the divorce; was it to drown the feelings or because she no longer let Edward hold her back? Here. I mean here. Of course it was bunch of times, but, like, 6 times might be enough. She didn't need to do it whole month every day. This all stands and fall on single thing: there is no reason why should Noriko (or her family, alive or not) assume her chances with anyone else would be better than with Edward. At least none I know of. (Otherwise I agree with your reasoning - it's just this one missing point which makes me certain there is something we don't know yet, and which could make lot of difference.) For man, it would be logical (although amoral) to try current partner AND someone else in parallel. (Possibly even almost literally, right, Mr. Pompoms?) Woman doesn't have that option.
  14. Forum officialness

Yeah, I speculated in the shiveapedia forum that the admins might have been tweaking things and something got goofed. Note that using shiveapedia forum will likely be worse. Also, Shiveapedia is not linked from comics either, unfortunately.
  15. Forum officialness

Unfortunately, it seems more like he doesn't plan any official forum. Also, the history sort of disappears, buried under new stuff. Actually, it tends to be hard to find here as well. I think it's optimal if there is link from every comics to the forum specifically about that comics ... which would obviously be time consuming for Dan with current CMX system, suggesting we really need something different.
  16. NP Monday December 5, 2016

I did not say or imply this. Sorry, but that "frustrated dreams of serving humanity" sounded like such implication. So how did you meant it? To me, it seems that his effort was mostly successful. Sure, their personal life didn't ended ideally, but both Edward and Noriko apparently helped humanity a lot. For person who would walk out from marriage because the child is not good enough, it WOULD be statistical trial. ... I think that traumatizing him didn't required as many tries as you imply. I agree with this, however ... ... this is speculation. People may do something because it's rational or because being emotional. Walking out just because child doesn't have magic doesn't look as either to me. It needs either another rational reason or some additional emotion.
  17. Quotes -- Part II

In fact, quoting whole post will be hard to do that way. The "quote this" tend to not appear if you select too much ... like, more than actual post.
  18. Comic Dec 7, 2016

So, Friday change of scene? ... oh, wait, Dan directly said this will continue. On the other hand, the chance of them meeting accidentally would go up. Even if Diane don't decide to "help" that accident ... Definitely not. Even kiss on the cheek - and I think she got at least to full kiss - would be significantly more than what Susan is comfortable with. Although I agree with possibility of Diane not being as ready for real relationship as she thinks she is.
  19. NP Monday December 5, 2016

You started I'm pretty sure she didn't became aberration. Wolf would likely mention that. EGS is in pretty big group of stories where it's easy to check if someone is or isn't monster ... at least if you take it literally enough. Note that the quote is So, you agree with how Pandora Chaos Raven described the situation? That putting his [Adrian] life at risk for people who will ultimately wither and die is insanity? I repeat: not trying for second child would be stupid. Tedd having no magic couldn't be the main reason Noriko left. Either it was just one of the reasons, or something else prevented her from the "let's just write him off and try again" route.
  20. NP, Wednesday December 7, 2016

You obviously missed Frozen. It's true that Elsa is technically queen, but I'm sure she counts. Also, she had magic even as princess. But note that he apparently used so much power on it he wasn't able to also SHOW. I'm pretty sure It's meant to be Akiko's thoughtbubble, or rather her thought caption (warning: tv tropes link). She may look as if she is listening to someone in the third panel, but I think she is just looking back at Rhoda. Granted, this is merely my interpretation and I know only too well how faulty it can be. I agree with that interpretation. Yes. ... technically yes, but I don't think that happened, nor is that her style. <psych> I do not think it is causation. Maybe they just are. But as I note, Papa Kitsune is permissive indulgent, Mama Kitsune is authoritative. </psych> And why does that drive my need for more backstory about the parents of Moperville? Considering fans also called for backstory for PHILL, who only appeared on one frame, how could it not?
  21. We Begin Anew!

Was the server upgraded again? I don't think the violet background is done correctly ... (specifically, the ipsAreaBackground_light div, .ipsAreaBackground_light td {background-color: rgba(220, 220, 255, 0.9);}) ... I mean, sure, it makes easier to edit posts, but ... it looks weird especially around quotes, also I still think it's the color of TEXT which should change, not background ...
  22. NP Monday December 5, 2016

It seems reasonable to me. I can certainly see how it would apply. It may be correct but without canon confirmation it's just impression. Also, even if driven by guilt, it can be unconscious thing. ... and about that overworking, I suspect both him and Noriko had great talent to get lost in their work even before the divorce. He's no-nonsense and down to earth NOW. I can see him calling a marriage off or kicking his wife out - obviously not so easy as in that scenario, but after long fights and fatal disagreements about how the marriage should look and maybe how will they care about Tedd ... then feel guilty about it, trying to compensate it to Tedd and get better in general, becoming the character we know now. Another not-confirmed but likely piece of their fights might be that Edward considers what Noriko do (or HOW she do it) too dangerous and fears she get herself killed. In most family fights, the problem is on both sides, although not necessary equally. I agree that Noriko seems more in fault than Edward, but exactly because we don't know much about her I would like to give her benefit of doubt and wait for her side of the story. Mrs. Kitsune grudge is definitely too much. We have "dots" pointing to Noriko not being so bad, starting with the fact she fights monsters, not becaming one herself. Or the fact that she married Edward and that Adrian Raven though he could've saved that marriage if he would be better teacher. If she would "be problem", Adrian would likely notice ... and perhaps he would side with Edward and be on more friendly terms with him now.
  23. Pinup Single Dec 8 2016 - Sarah

Explained in text of that image, yes. Agree. We need to name her and request her joining main cast
  24. NP, Wednesday December 7, 2016

Well, she won't do anything with that for several months. But it's not like she's free to stalk people ... her options to do anything with this information are mostly limited to "telling Nanase". Agree. Extremely weird. And if it's Japan think, why is Mr. Kitsune talking Japanese? So probably weird even for Japan.
  25. Story Monday December 5, 2016

In other words, had accident ... or "accident".
