Some of mine did. I still exist. Not many of them, I would assume. Or they were close ancestors. Considering you are Danish, you are likely to have lot of vikings between ancestors, aren't you? Those weren't exactly known for their pacifism. (Although ... considering WHEN was the gold age of vikings, I might have as many of them between my ancestors as you do. I mean, it's 30 generations and Europe isn't that big ... especially considering the fact vikings sailed around most of it.) Yes. And I didn't played the game, but someone trying to kill me with magic spears doesn't look like "the best" ...

If your ancestors would have the same opinion on self-defense as you do, you wouldn't exists. It was nice from Grace to try for better outcome. But she was lucky Adrian had gun ready.

So what? It's not that SHE will be buying something. She will be looking at others buying stuff. Probably trying to predict what will they buy and hope they will surprise her or something like that. Or it's because it will be good opportunity to mark someone. Agree. All good questions, but I suspect it's the "knocks herself out" one. Like ... when she predicts nothing interesting will happen, she goes to sleep ... Also note how she measured how long she was sleeping. Internal chronometer? Pandora sleeps. If sleep will be only for the weak, WHO will be strong?
  4. Story: Wednesday, July 27, 2016

Possibly he's strong enough to forcibly eject the average Immortal (putting him on par with Agent Wolf) and just momentarily forgot exactly which Immortal he was threatening. I think it was more he didn't NOTICED than that he forgot. ... or that. It may be an unwarranted assumption, but it's not odd that we assume exposition given by a character is correct. It's because it's such a common device in fiction going back a long, long way. Shakespeare has tons of it, particularly in his historical plays, where there are battles that wouldn't fit into the theater. In radio it can hardly be avoided unless you have an anonymous narrator. There are exceptions. In a mystery, you can hardly avoid having different stories from different people or it wouldn't be a mystery, would it? But, still, you expect the detective to be telling the truth as he or she sees it. In fiction, you can generally assume that exposition from character is correct unless there is specific reason why it shouldn't. In reality, what people say is rarely correct even if they don't lie, because even if they know, they are likely to forgot something. Even if he wouldn't, Edward Verres said he should - if the immortal would be playing fair. I suspect they will NOT see the spell being cast. For the same reason why magic power of immortal can't be sensed. Here.

No disagreement then, it's definitely possible to hurt or force-reset immortal. The properly phrased question is "How many charts for this does Edward have?" While likely, we doesn't have confirmed that Edward knows about immortals reseting. Yup, not everyone is as crazy as Claire Bennet. So far, none of our weapons is more likely to kill something than core of Sun. So, if immortals tested that Sun can't kill them ... ... of course, that's PHYSICAL weapons. With them being able to retreat to astral plane, magic weapons are more likely to work.
  6. Story: Wednesday, July 27, 2016

Maybe it was just specifically Pandora who considered it not important. Or maybe it was "lost" due to improper deaths and not really sharing that information ... ... jup, seems extremely likely. Wait what? PANDORA? Sleep-teaching sounds more likely than him not having the power. That, or him using power would be rude. ANYONE can change someone else with (pre-programmed) TF Gun. Grace is even able to program it. I'm not convinced that Disco Wizard would actually win if he didn't hold back, but it's true that 1) he doesn't know Pandora is also likely to hold back 2) it's possible Pandora doesn't need to hold back that much - both "because she can do more without damaging Grace" and because she can afford at least to make few holes in Grace's memory, while the Disco Wizard needs Grace to remember current dream as much as possible.
  7. NP: Monday, July 25, 2016

Nothing about destroying him. Again, nothing about destroying the immortal. Yes, sounds very likely. The chance may not be that big - even if he tried to repeat it, there are 200 years for someone to convince him it's not so good idea. Also, imagine Pandora remembering that she didn't reset due to child. Which she now barely recognize. Doesn't look like reason to go crazy again, does it? That's possible. Although the people around them might be against this "natural dead". It's interesting that Pandora is MUCH older than the recommended 200 years. Seems that those 200 years contain BIG safety margin.
  8. NP: Monday, July 25, 2016

... what Jerry said about the fallout? You mean the likely to destroy ourselves and take a bunch of innocent beings with us? That might talk about mortals. Although it suggest that the crazy immortal is able to destroy (and not just kill improperly) himself, so it IS possible immortals can destroy each other ...
  9. Story: Monday July 25, 2016

Actually, memories implanted by the nose-beep which were only reindexed while she slept. Nioi wasn't even in EGS universe when Ellen "dreamed" her second life. There is theory that dreams are subconscious trying to make sense from fragments of memories being transfered to long term memory. Apparently, in Ellen's case it wasn't fragments.
  10. Story: Monday July 18, 2016

NOONE is in every story. Agree. And he might even move to primary. People who don't have magic but still have inside knowledge ... like Sarah ... ups. With Pandora marking people left and right, having someone around her grand godson NOT having magic doesn't really make sense. Hard to mark? Challenge!
  11. NP: Monday, July 25, 2016

For the same reason she has head and two eyes (although she MIGHT have four eyes in this form). Her default form was certainly based on humans. Being born from egg doesn't mean there was no placenta. Also, her having belly button in HUMAN form isn't really relevant, as the form she was born in was half-squirrel. Note that Blaike didn't seem to complain. Of course, she wasn't crazy back then.
  12. NP Monday July 18, 2016

Waaait ... if you are spambot, you don't HAVE DNA. And apparently not available to young people.
  13. Story: Monday July 18, 2016

Once you get in double digits for the main characters, I think just saying "main cast" is enough. Then you get to argue about who is mane cast and who is a back ground pony. Actually, even in time of Main 8 establishment, it could've been argued Edward is ALSO main character, but was not part of the "circle of eight".
  14. Story: Thursday, July 14, 2016

I wasn't aware it was fan originated ... does it means that Greg dating Vladia wouldn't happen unless fan would speak about it enough?
  15. Story: Monday July 25, 2016

He probably have advantage against ordinary trespassers ... but this is PANDORA. He likely underestimates her. True. Could be funny if watched from far enough. Actually, it seems that Disco Wizard blocked Pandora from seeing Grace - which might also blocked Grace from seeing Pandora. Or he's been picked by someone or something presenting him/her/itself as "Magic itself." And DW doesn't say he was picked directly; he said on behalf of. Yup. Personally, I find hard to believe that he was actually chosen by magic itself. That would mean the "mind of magic" is too normal. Someone lying to him - or HIM lying - seems more likely.
  16. Story: Monday July 18, 2016

No way. First, I think we don't stop saying "Main 8" just because there will be more of them. Second, Diane is not only character on way inside Main 8, so if we would be renumbering, something like Main 11 would make more sense. Likely, they grow at normal rate and don't age at all. While humans age from start, although it's less obvious when they are still growing. Akiko's magic talent might be less visible to aberrations than the magic weapon thing. Might.
  17. Story Wednesday July 20, 2016

Grace is flying using telekinesis. I don't think it's low-concentration enough to be possible while sleeping. Except it's quite likely Raven is also much HARDER target for possession. It is, with one of the complication being the timeframe. Pandora's "entering dreamscape" ability might be too slow to catch that spell. That was normal dream - except that he cast the spell in dream and it happened in reality.
  18. Story: Thursday, July 14, 2016

The odds of Carol the reporter being related to main cast was also rather slim. Personally, I see the possibility of Greg meeting another person with "inside" knowledge shortly after finding out how his own knowledge is dangerous much bigger than possibility of this monster being somehow related to dewitchery diamond. He could have sister who was also in adventuring ... ... but I agree that it wouldn't really explain the resemblance.
  19. http://www.egscomics.com/egsnp.php?id=486 I think the game has different definition of "stealth" than is normal. But if it's fun ... Also, apparently, different definition of "nailed down". Grace left the cyborg hand and the test tubes there. And even microscope. I know it's not the same case, but it still reminded me it. ... although your analysis of HOW much different it was is still nice. Occasionally? It would also be interesting if BOTH would actually work. Although not impossible: the deities may not be "vending machines" themselves. We need more research on what exactly is the difference - wait, did I just painted myself as target for Oblivion war group? How often is Oblivion war group killing scholars who didn't do anything bad but remember some obscure deity? (How bad would be to start reading this "other Harry" with skipping first book?) Seems like they failed with this one too.
  21. NP: Friday, July 15, 2016

That is pretty good solution, actually. Believing that something existed in past but don't exist anymore should be safe. They may stop believing for the same reason. If the fact that someone killed every believer of that god become public knowledge, I mean. The "deity only gains power from worshippers" can be self-fulfilling belief. (Note that it's obvious the deity get more power from worshippers than from the people who just knows about it - otherwise it wouldn't work so hard on getting worshippers. It's possible that deity without worshippers but with people who know it exists still lives, but in something like a coma, unable to act. Until someone decides to start believing ... or until people stop believing it exists.) Question is if it was really necessary or if they just wanted to play it safe. Note that it didn't really worked with Voldermort.
  22. NP: Friday, July 15, 2016

Gods who NEED plot armor shouldn't get it. Either it's small God with just few hundreds of believers and no other source of power, and then it's valid target, or it's someone in league of Lord of Nightmares ... Why? If you are supposed to kill everyone who know about that God existence, it would be pretty evil and likely impossible. Sure, if you are too focused on the killing, it may be problem, but I'm sure some wise guy can teach you how to "let go" and kill that God without committing suicide. In fact, might be better to contact one even sooner, because you need to be sure to not accidentally kill the believers in name of their God, which might count as sacrifice ... Alternatively, if you are doing it in service of some other God, that should prevent you from keeping your target alive as well.
  23. NP: Friday, July 15, 2016

My general rule is you get XP for defeating the threat. That doesn't mean you have to kill it, sneaking past it can count as a defeat, depending on what it is and how you sneak. There are some times that actually killing the threat is the wrong thing to do. For example if the "threat" is the king. Killing him, or trying to, in full court, not a good idea. Killing king in full court might be bad idea, but still XP worthy - in fact, so daring act should get more XP than killing the king later in garden. Of course, it would be VERY hard to survive even the attempt - that's WHY it will get more XP. Totally agree with XP for defeating the threat / overcoming an obstacle. But I don't agree with giving XP for "holding to the script". And NPCs unkillable for plot reasons are something which belongs to computer games, where the variability needs to be limited: in desk game, DM is supposed to adapt to anything the players decide to do. So, it SHOULD be possible to kill even the king, the guards which will try to prevent it shouldn't appear from thin air unless it's work of court mage and if players succeed, there may be someone ready to thank them ... and try to dispose of them later, after they help him with several other ... obstacles. Of course, there may be XP gain (or loss for failing) for playing in accordance with their alignment and for ability to explain the reasons and motivations the characters have for the actions. Note that this counts as good reason IF the party is good. Evil party is more likely to do the destroying of kingdom themselves. And did they later succeeded in killing her? ... or it WASN'T preparation for future campaign? It's actually good example of the fact that players are rarely first adventurers appearing in the world. If it would be easy to kill the king and replace him, someone would already do it - or, more likely, someone DID it and it kept happening until the king (or queen in this case) was someone capable of keeping that title.
  24. Story: Thursday, July 14, 2016

If. I find very unlikely she don't discover it. Well she said herself that she feels more like the box than the Pandora herself. Personally, I think she doesn't have that much common with Eris, but it's true she doesn't have much common with Pandora either so you may still technically be right. Loki might be better match.
