  1. OH SNAP! Select text below if you're not worried about spoilers. Party crashers such as bulldog dragons, griffins, or floating figures in white? Liz could know of all of these from the media, if not from Ashley.
  2. Story Wednesday, June 26, 2019

You left out SPANCs (Space Pirate Amazon Ninja Catgirls).
  3. Story Wednesday, June 26, 2019

Liz asked Elliot to swear that Ashley would be safe at the party. Maybe that wasn't rhetorical. Liz knows Elliot is important to Ashley, and has him marked as a "good guy". Still, if Ashley goes to the party and Liz doesn't, Liz is going to WORRY.
  4. Story Wednesday, June 26, 2019

Liz might have guessed that it was Ashley who kicked that soccer ball at the mall from the web, but Ashley would not have told her that, or anything else about magic in either one of her first two dates with the Elder Dunkel Twin. When did you call what magic stuffs? I remember talk of Liz being able to sense magic somewhat like that other green-haired magic detector Luke, which would fit Liz noticing something different in Ashley after her second date with Elliot (but apparently not the first).
  5. Story Wednesday, June 26, 2019

Elliot could say Ashley should be safer at the party than anywhere else in Moperville, and he wouldn't have to lie.
  6. This Day In History

On June 25 1876 - George Armstrong Custer probably wishes he'd brought his gatling guns along. 1906 - Harry Thaw shoots and kills architect Stanford White, providing the plot for James Cagney's last movie. 1950 - Korean War begins. It hasn't officially ended yet.
  7. Story Monday, June 24, 2019

I don't buy that either. Dan just started a new NP story, and it's not canon. Besides, Dan has already run Playing With Dolls, Question Mark, Marker, Escape From the Mall, and MV5, which all lead into this story--particularly MV5 with all it's wild transformation possibilities. Plus there was that semi-canon NP explaining all of Ellen's powers before she got her second zapping by the Dewitchery Diamond. It might take two weeks of our time for Elliot to talk his way out of this one. I think an easier option is to cut away and then explain what happened with a panel or two of exposition a little later.
  8. Story Monday, June 24, 2019

The pattern so far is to switch back and forth between Northern and Southern groups. Sarah's a Northerner, so I think a switch would more likely go to a some Moperville South people. And there are more to choose from; besides Justin, Diane, and Lucy, there's Grace, Rhoda, Ellen, and Nanase. Oh, don't forget Noah; there's always a chance he'll show up somewhere, with or without Melissa. I wouldn't be terribly disappointed to see Sarah and Sam, though.
  9. Story Monday, June 24, 2019

You're right, you got me. Still doesn't prove they've ever talked with each other until now. I have a reasonable suspicion that we won't be seeing Liz and Elliot in the next comic. If it's Friday, tonight is bowling night for Justin, Luke, Diane, and Lucy.
  10. Story Monday, June 24, 2019

The way Elliot will respond could depend on what day it is, and what time of day. Dan hasn't given us a day-of-the-week for awhile, but given the panels showing Liz at home in this comic, it has to be Thursday or Friday--in other words, the party is tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow. If it's Thursday, Elliot has time tonight to see Tedd and maybe Tedd's dad and maybe some others to ask if inviting Liz is acceptable, Elliot will probably stall. If it's Friday, especially late Friday, Elliot may not have a chance to see Liz again until Monday after the party. Under that kind of pressure, and fearing for his shirt, Elliot might say, "If this party is bothering you, why don't you come?"
  11. Story Monday, June 24, 2019

"Why?" "I don't think so." "Not here." "Ashley told you about the party?"
  12. Story Monday, June 24, 2019

What do you think Elliot thinks is about to happen? Elliot isn't in the super-genius club with Susan, Diane, Tedd, Grace, and Charlotte, but I don't think he puts a great deal of faith in Voltaire's pledge not to do anything with the intent of killing Elliot. Still Elliot doesn't seem to expect trouble from Volty at any time soon, and he should know from Tedd that most of the vampires/aberrations are ashes now. It's Ashley that Elliot is worried about. What Elliot might say next is "Excuse me, but who are you?" There's never been a scene where Elliot and Liz meet before. Ashley probably would have said some things about her friend Liz, and might have even shown Elliot a picture of Liz, and Elliot should have seen Liz with Ashley and maybe even been introduced--but none of that is in canon yet. Liz probing Ashley, Sarah, and Susan, and then taking another look at the review show before grabbing Elliot and ruining one of his treasured black shirts seems like a good indicator Liz has, indeed, never exchanged words with Elliot before, even without ruining a shirt.
  13. Story Monday, June 24, 2019

At the beginning of So a Date at the Mall Liz told Ashley that Elliot seemed perfect for Ashley because Elliot is a total dork. That doesn't sound like she has any suspicions that Elliot has weird powers then. And that happens after Identity, so Elliot's alleged gayness doesn't seem to be an issue at that point with Liz. Or Liz could think Elliot is really into Susan and while he isn't consciously leading Ashley on, because he's a genuinely good guy, he needs to admit that to himself and to Ashley before Ashley gets in any deeper. I don't know where Dan is going with this, but he's put some thought into it. He put Liz in that same beanbag as when she was talking with Ashley four years ago in our time.
  14. Story Monday, June 24, 2019

    That would fit.
  15. Story Monday, June 24, 2019

Nah, I'm pretty sure Elliot's a switch hitter.
  16. Story Monday, June 24, 2019

Elliot doesn't beat up girls. He's lucky he doesn't have a sister. Oh, wait, he does. So, what is that other possibility Liz mentioned? The obvious one is Liz thinks Elliot is gay, since she's accepted that he's (probably) a good guy. And Elliot can't really say he's absolutely straight because, well, he's attracted to Noah and he's terrible at lying. Maybe this is a job for... DEMONIC DUCK!!
  17. Story Friday, June 21, 2019

    http://egscomics.com/comic/party-028 Or maybe just Sarah?
  18. Story Friday, June 21, 2019

The reason I suspect this comic might be Sarah talking to herself, like Susan talking herself in the previous comic, is that Sarah seems to be talking about her power of transforming herself without any reference to Tedd's watches. Sarah does not have transformation powers of her own--except when she's using her simulation talent, which no one else can see inside. And Tedd seems to me to be acting more like Sarah's idea of Tedd than Tedd's idea of himself.
  19. Story Wednesday, Jun 19, 2019

    I missed that. Thanks.
  20. Story Wednesday, Jun 19, 2019

And he would know where to find trainers for kendo and maybe fencing.
  21. Story Wednesday, Jun 19, 2019

Susan brought out a sword way back in the second fight with the Goo in Sister. Greg asked her where she got it. But Susan didn't use it. She obviously got a lot of practice with hammers, but as far as we know never practiced with either one of her swords (she revealed she had two the night before she met Jerry).
  22. Story Wednesday, Jun 19, 2019

Also because non-aberrations like Damien and not-Tengu are still out there, and are likely to become more common now that old magics have been restored. I'm implying that what's really bothering Susan most is that she knows if she had trained with Nanase she might have saved Pandora.
  23. Story Wednesday, Jun 19, 2019

Maybe Susan is seeing that she had three years to learn how to fight, and didn't.
  24. Story Wednesday, Jun 19, 2019

So far no one seems to have noticed the real surprise in this comic: Susan admitting that she wishes Raven was her father.
  25. Story Wednesday, Jun 19, 2019

...and they double as a great entrée for zombies!
