Well, maybe Friday's comic will bring us a real surprise if it's taking longer to make.
-
You'll have to ask Tedd.
-
Tedd: One more thing. There was this other Immortal here Sunday. He tried to kill my best friend three times. Any chance you know about him? Pandora: The one at the mall who tricked the griffin? Tedd: That's the one. Pandora: I haven't met him...yet.
-
Except maybe asking her if she knows about the other immortals in Moperville, including the one that was in the same basement five days ago.
-
There's no indication that anyone besides Adrian and Noah know about the picture on the amulet being connected with the Pandora myth. Nor is there any indication that Voltaire is known as Voltaire to anyone besides Abner the detective. But even if Pandora doesn't recognize Voltaire from his modus operandi and his style, she would be very interested to know that he tried to kill Tedd's friend.
-
Tedd and Pandora have both gotten lots of warm fuzzies out of this visit. But how long will they last? Tedd still has the same issues with his mother, and Pandora has more issues with her son than she knows about. Remember Dex's amulet that he used to frame Pandora? There's no indication that Edward has told Adrian about Voltaire being behind the attempts on Elliot's life. It kind of looks like Tedd is off to bed now, and we're moving on to Part 18. But maybe Tedd will think to ask Pandora about the other Immortal he's seen: Voltaire.
-
Think of it as Extreme Urban Renewal.
-
Keep in mind that this is Friday in Moperville, or V-Day, as in Vampires and Voltaire. Pandora or Adrian may not be available on Saturday. I think I may have pointed that out a time or two.
-
It fits the title page since Sirleck is looming behind magus and everyone else. But Pandora is between Sirleck and Magus.
-
There are only two beings we know of who can talk with Magus: Pandora and Sirleck. I think the only practical way for Magus to start recovering a body is for one of them to arrange it by getting Tedd and Elliot to co-operate. Maybe Sirleck could pull this off somehow, but it seems to me it would be a lot easier for Pandora to arrange it.
-
Magus may be a brilliant mage, but he doesn't seem to be so hot at strategy and tactics. What's he trying to do here, take out Pandora, or get his body back? Is Magus evil enough to be okay with helping to kill Adrian Raven? He's seen Adrian fighting honorably to protect Ellen.
-
So Pandora is thinking about Magus again. Perhaps she'll think of checking up on him later.
-
Don'f forget the two yards of dragon.
-
Nice that in the last two panels we have a crossover to the Ellen Demo NPs. Pandora seems to be building up to separating the clothing modification part of Ellen's spell to making it a separate spell. I can see this leading up to Tedd creating spells from scratch. Hmmm, that would kind of be making him a Will of Magic, wouldn't it...
-
Unless you count the Tess universe, and unless Magus really is an alternate Elliot, none of the AUs has shown us another Elliot.
-
Sarah ended up getting the $50 anyway. Nanase did it for $5--in canon
-
Noah's from our universe, or at least he was raised in our universe. General Shade Tail and Lord Tedd are from their own universe. Well, they could be from different universes, but there's no reason to assume they aren't from the same universe.
-
Ellen's existence depends on Elliot in the Moperverse. Ellen has always been Ellen in the Beta universe, and the Second Life universe.
-
If there is, Pandora's forgotten for now. Go back to what led Pandora back to Tedd this morning. Pandora met with her son, and Adrian told her off, saying that Noah could have been killed. Pandora was so angered and upset she didn't get Adrian to explain why he would think that. Instead of going back, Pandora decided to see about Tedd. After her talk with Heka, she checked up on Sarah, made a deeper connection with her, and then went on to Tedd. What Adrian said about Noah is also a big plot point. It means that Adrian still believes that Pandora was the one controlling Dex, which means he hasn't talked with Edward, which means Adrian doesn't know about Voltaire and Edward doesn't know about Voltaire setting up Pandora. So I guess it could be good if Edward comes downstairs now. Very good if Edward mentions Voltaire. Not so good if Edward tells Pandora he doesn't want Immortals messing with his son.
-
Me too. Pandora is getting all tied up with Tedd now and seems to have forgotten for now that another immortal tried to kill Tedd's best friend just six days ago. Pandora may not be worried about vampires because her dam will be down in a few days and the local ambient magic will return to normal, so vampires won't be drawn to it any more. I think the only way now Pandora would get a clue about what's coming is if she decides to seek out Magus. Not much time for that, though.

I guess I really didn't make it clear that it would be strange if Immortals are limited to one universe when we have at least four examples in canon of travel or communication between different universes. Different universes were established in EGS canon before the existence of Immortals was revealed. I believe Dan said somewhere that he started out with quite different plans for Lord Tedd. And yet, here he is after, what, fifteen years after his first appearance? Dan still has Lord Tedd in mind, whether or not he's going to play any kind of direct part in Sister III. Would be kind of wonderful if Lord Tedd showed up to play for the home team, though.
-
Well, I said "maybe." I think it brings up some interesting questions: Do Immortals have alternate versions like the Tedds, Elliots, and Ellens, or are they multiversal beings like the goddesses in Oh My Goddess? Are there are different versions of Immortals for different universes? Or just different names for them? How hard is it for Immortals to travel between universes? We already have space whales, Nioi, and Goo kernals flitting between universes, and even an internet connection to Beta Tedd's universe. Does each universe have it's own Will of Magic? We already know there are different rules for Immortals/Ancients in just the other half of the Moperverse. Is Jeremy a unique feature of the Moperverse?

Maybe this is a plausible solution: The second purpose is a nascent ability of all Seers, but it can only be expressed if there's an actual change in magic and if a Seer meets the eligibility requirements. Seers who get the secret ability activated can use it for the rest of their lives, but it will remain inactive for all seers born after them until the next magic change. Forcing a change to this system could be all or part of Voltaire's objective. It could even provide a link to Lord Tedd. Voltaire said at the end of his last rant that "...it will be the last straw for magic and immortals alike, and then they will listen to me." Lord Tedd could be one of Voltaire's earlier straws.
-
A good point, but that was a rather splendidly updated image of Lord Tedd when just the line of thought-dialogue would have sufficed.

There are at least three examples of that in canon: Ellen zapping Vlad into Vladia; Nanase getting her guardian form to save Ellen; Ellen copying Nanase's guardian form and its powers to save Nanase.
