  1. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Remind me when it's time to pick them. The tree is out in the open, so we might have a problem with blistering on the skin, but we'll keep an eye on them if you're serious.
  2. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

My wife advises me that the crop produces only every other year. We had a bumper crop in 2016. I think she means we wouldn't have another crop until 2018.
  3. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

I have never figured that out, not once in our nearly 34 years of marriage.
  4. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

I'll see if I can talk my wife into it. She's the one who'll have to handle the harvesting, thanks to my disabilities.
  5. What Are You Ingesting?

    Smart surimi?
  6. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

My only worry about going to a pharmacist is that it's (gasp) CVS. I barely trust them to fill a single prescription correctly. Unfortunately, they're the least expensive option around here.
  7. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Okay. I took my medications before eating tonight. I led off things with a maximum-strength simethicone gelcap, though, and took things in smaller groups. Sure enough, I had a lot of gas afterward. Been burping since I finished off my pills. It's been a good 20 minutes, and I haven't had a sensation of nausea yet. Still having a lot of gas. I may have lucked out tonight.
  8. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Got one, on a spreadsheet. I take it to my doctor at every appointment. I'd hope he'd have the same knowledge. I watch for these as well. Grapefruit ist verboten here. Didn't know about the pomegranate, though. I've got a pomegranate tree in the backyard. That'll make me think twice before harvesting. Thanks.
  9. Things That Are Just Annoying

You're handling it properly. Call tomorrow and get it fixed.

http://www.egscomics.com/egsnp.php?id=585 Should've been Monday's, but there we go.

Would Felix consider a rename to Felicity in this form, as Tedd has been suggested to consider Tess while in female form? Or, is the cat-girliness too much for a Felicity to handle?
  12. NP: Monday March 6, 2017

Felix hopes, from the looks in his eyes in panel two. Kitty's eyes in panel three make her look like her hormones are about to go thermonuclear.

Megahyperawesomeness: a veterinarian astronaut who trains dolphins in space!
  14. Things that make you sad.

The advice @ijuin has given you is pretty spot on. If your symptoms get any worse, consult a doctor immediately. I speak from experience here.
  15. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

I'm rather keen on staying on top of interactions. Unfortunately, I'm dancing on the head of a pin with several possibilities. Serotonin syndrome, low salt levels, drowsiness, and something I still haven't figured out between the Topamax and my tiny dose of Metformin. Since I have no real choice, I have to just dive in head first on most of them and hope I'm not diving into the shallow end of the pool. I'm going to try taking things in a different order tonight, and taking them over a longer period of time. We'll see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the guidance on this, though. I will most definitely keep it in mind!
  16. Story Monday March 6, 2017

That was an underrated movie, although Jonathan Winters was mis-cast and Peter Boyle's performance was rather wooden. The rest was actually quite good, and I watch it whenever I see it on the channel guide.
  17. What Are You Ingesting?

True story, from the summer of 1980 in Houston. Summer band, before my senior year. Five of my friends and I were hanging around the band hall, mid-day, after a summer rehearsal. Some guy drives up and asks if we want to make some money helping off-load an 18-wheeler[1] that was on its side on Interstate 45 (a.k.a. the Gulf Freeway), a little over a mile away. We ask what kind of money. He flashes $100—big money for high schoolers back then. We get in our cars and follow. On to the scene of the accident. Sure enough, the trailer portion of the 18-wheeler is lying on its side, blocking traffic on northbound I-45. They've got a metal-wheeled conveyor ramp set up. Our job is to off-load the cargo—boxes of bananas—onto the ramp, where their guys with roll them off and load them onto a second trailer. You'd be surprised at how quickly six motivated, well-conditioned band kids can move. We had that thing off-loaded in just over an hour. The guy hands us the $100, in five $20 bills, plus a bunch of green bananas each, and promptly forgets about us. New problem: how do you divide five $20 bills among six people? Answer: you find a bank and let them do the math. Each of us got approximately $16.67. And a bunch of green bananas. I was pretty damned tired by the time I got home. Guess what was one of the first things my stressed-out mind decided to do? Yep—eat a banana. Oh, the memories of the heartburn afterward live with me still. Lessons: don't eat green bananas, and bargain for more money if asked to off-load a truckload of them. [1]Of course, they're actually 23-wheelers: 18 rolling, 2 spare, a 5th wheel, steering wheel, and flywheel.
  18. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Have had to add Biotène mouth spray to my regimen. Something is giving me dry mouth like crazy to the point of interfering with eating. I tried to eat some spicy Popeye's fried chicken with red beans & rice a couple of nights ago. Couldn't handle the spices. Got the Biotène yesterday and noticed an immediate difference. One negative development: for two nights in a row, I've had to take a Zofran anti-nausea pill immediately after taking my nighttime medications. Either I'm taking my nighttime pills too quickly, taking them too soon after dinner (or should be taking them before dinner), or I simply have too damn many pills to take at night. I'm going to try taking them before eating tomorrow.
  19. Story: Friday 24 Feb 2017

Or upgrade to linux. That 'free upgrade' was neither free not upgrade. In terms of some software fields, like music, Win10 could be considered a valid upgrade. I run Cakewalk SONAR Platinum, and it likes Windows 10 very much. So do the plug-ins that I use with it.
  20. The Weather.

It is a drizzly 52°F outside, and my Nest thermostat tells me it's 74°F inside. However, for some reason I feel as cold as the inside of a freezer. No idea why. Maybe it's the time of day: 5:51 a.m., and I still haven't had any coffee. /* goes off to try and rectify the problem */
  21. Things That Make You Happy

Actual good news from the Social Security Administration about my disability status! I can hardly believe it. I'm not going to have to put up with the hassle—not for now, anyway!
  22. Things That Make You Happy

Agreed. Exception to the rule: a T-N-R kitten. That's what our cat is. My wife caught him, took him to get neutered and get his shots, and returned him. We kept up the human contact with him, since his mother hissed at him when he returned (he was well weaned already). We didn't bring him inside until later, on a night that was EXTREMELY cold. He's gotten out twice since—once for a day through the back door, and much later, for just a few moments when we left the door to the garage open. I guess his experience of being back out in the feral world for that day taught him to get his fuzzy arse back in from the garage.
  23. The Weather.

That most assuredly doth suck. Do you stock up on an antihistamine as well? I've been taking prescription Zyxal for several years now. However, I've recently discovered it's about to go OTC, and at a price that's more expensive than what I'm paying now through Blink Health (Blue Cross doesn't cover it). Not a happy camper, I. I've also been taking hydroxyzine to back up the Zyxal. Together, the two put a dent in my serious year-round allergies. Just curious as to what you use.
  24. Things That Make You Happy

That act gets a bit less cute once they grow from kitten to cat. My wife has the battle scars to prove it.
  25. What Are You Ingesting?

Have you tried the suggested use? HP + a bottle of B&O Baked Beans actually kind of sounds appetizing.
