Grace is probably also impressed that Tedd is taking the moral high road by being willing to sacrifice all of that work. It must have come as a shock to him to find out that The Will Of Magic Itself is dead-set against his plan of giving everyone in the world magical protection.

He's right about the "dangerous things"--they've already had not-Tengu and at least seven vampires that they know of. Note how in Panel 7, Tedd's eyes widen to show that he is using his "magic analysis vision". I look forward to seeing Tedd's analysis of the spell.

To elaborate a little, IMO a major founding principle of the USA comes from the preamble of the Declaration of Independence: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness". Human rights and civil rights have been a primary focus of USA society from the start. Sadly, we have often fallen short of "all men", especially with regard to racial and sexual minorities. The thing that shows how fundamental is the idea of such rights, however, is that when somebody does stand up and point out the shortcoming loudly enough to be heard far and wide (such as the aforementioned Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.), the great majority, rather than deciding "no, we don't really mean 'everyone' where it says 'all men'", instead eventually come around to deciding "hey, he's right, we're being un-American by willfully mistreating our own citizens".

"Undrivable" where my father grew up meant "unplowed roads deeper than two feet". Of course, this was in Buffalo, where most winters had at least two spells where the only way to exit the house was via the second floor window due to snow pileup.

Those who speak of making America great again forget that America has never truly fallen from greatness. Sometimes, people like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. have to stand up and point out when and where America is falling short of its ideals, but the best thing about America is that we then re-dedicate to those ideals rather than throwing them on to the ash-heap of history.

Because English has borrowed names from other languages to the point where their actual meanings are obscured (e.g. most "Christian" names derive from Hebrew, Greek, or Latin), we are slightly baffled when faced with a name whose meaning is right-in-one's-face. We are perfectly comfortable with the name "Theodore" (one of the more common names which would abbreviate to "Tedd"), yet we devote little thought to the fact that it means "Gift from God".

Seeing all of the girls at the Mall getting shrunk would be quite a sight...although the current scene has high probability of seeing tiny Catalina getting cuddled by Rhoda, which should prove to be adorable.

So, Pandora cops out and gives an alias that will take Sarah and friends much longer to figure out. I do like the expression the second panel--it shows her playful side. The three illustrations of her names do well at showing what she thinks of each name--Pandora is the trickster, Chaos the "beast", and Raven is herself as mate to Blaike and mother to Adrian. Also, paranoia points in the last panel for Sarah being worried that the Immortal in question might be watching and get offended.

IMO, "Overkill" means when you collaterally damage something that you had wanted to keep intact--e.g. killing hostage-taker and hostage together when you had wanted to keep the hostage alive.

The most important means of Awakening that needs to be kept under wraps (both to avoid a potential flood of would-be supervillains and to avoid The Will Of Magic doing a rules-change to avert it) is through simply training for it in an appropriate manner (as implied in http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=967 .) As long as the general public believes that one is only a Mage due to genetics or Fate or Luck or Gods or whatever, and that one can not do anything deliberate to become a Mage (beyond petitioning the "Gods"), then there will be few malicious actors trying to obtain this power for themselves.

BSD-M sounds like it would be BSD-Modified, or something similar. Anyway, to get back on the topic of Pandora, the name that she gives depends heavily on how much she wants Sarah and her friends to know. If "Raven" is any part of the name that she gives, then they will certainly find out quickly that she is Adrian's mother. "Chaos" will reveal little, while "Pandora" may eventually lead them to Adrian, but will not be obvious to them at first.

It appears that most of the comics whose 910Comics forum are quiet are ones that have on-site comments. Dan has said that he has refrained from doing so because he does not want to moderate the discussions himself. The EGS forum here has flourished due to having excellent moderation and a set of users who respect the moderator and generally abide by his judgements.

While such a scenario would be preferable to a Trump Presidency IMO, the odds of it happening are quite low, and there will be voter rebellion against the selection of someone who isn't even on the ballot in the majority of states. -
Spammers also exploit the Law of Large Numbers. If they spam a thousand message boards, and only one board in every hundred has just one person taking the bait, then that's still ten suckers that they've hooked.
