For a comic that is mostly a posting of coming matches, this comic has a lot of activity.

Jay backpedals a bit on her marriage proposal, I guess realizing what she said. Susan has no time to respond. (I think the ship still has structural integrity.)

Sam seems nervous to be paired with George, fearing that George will notice his actual sex change.

Susan, paired with Larry, is distracted. By thoughts of Jay? They left a lot hanging.

Sarah and Hope are happy to be hanging out.

Jay and Tedd are nervous to be hanging out.

And the chapter ends, to be resumed midweek, next week. I hope the pace keeps up.

George will be confronted with yet more evidence that Magic is real, that it is happening all around him, and he is still not in on the secret (or as he calls it, the "backstory"} This should be very frustrating for him.

Or, not knowing that it is possible in their universe, he will draw a different conclusion, such as 'sibling'. Think about it, what would you do in his shoes? Of course, demands of the plot overrule all logic.

George has already said that someone's gender is their own business, so I'm fairly sure that he's not gonna say any thing to Sam.

BTW, Mark should be in the playoff, because he apparently beat Susan, no?

Mark, Guy and AJ are all missing.  They can't all of dropped out. Or the game, as such, isn't important in this arc, unlike the 1st tournament arc.

I'm sorta afraid that AJ has played his role in this arc and we aren't gonna see what happens to him this round.  My current head canon is he quit the tournament and has slinked  away.

I think AJ really doesn't matter yet, and Dan has plans for Jay and/or Hope to engage him in the future.

Better yet, all the people that know he has a mark/spell that lets him "cheat" do the equivalent of Bishop's "you go lucky" card.  Each independent of each other, so he knows that a freaking lot of people caught him at it.
