Well, I'm sure that if you can use magic to make yourself stronger without adding extra beef (or cheese), this can be redundant, but beefing up someone that's not a magic user should probably have an effect other than pure physical appearance.
  2. NP, Friday June 30, 2017

The commentary implies that beefier=stronger in much the same way that Grace can beef herself up to be stronger, increased muscle mass has gotta count for something right? It canceled each other out, hence Susan's reaction in that panel and Ellen's apology zapping in the last panel. Dangit, ninja'd! lol
  3. http://www.egscomics.com/egsnp.php?id=633 I love how Rhoda's bragging that all of this is not new to her. Also, what is more cooler that a magic flashlight?
  4. Story, Friday June 30, 2017

I dunno, maybe? I mean Tedd assumed that being able to see magic like he did wasn't that rare, he believed that he was just looking at magic in action enough times to that he started seeing patterns, he made what he thought was intuitive leaps that turned out to be right but didn't equate it to some special ability until he looked at himself using it. The creation of the glove would probably have seemed like it done by intuitive leaps as well. Tedd would have spent all his time researching magic going "what if?" when in fact the answers to all that was already at his disposal.
  5. Pinup Thu 29, 2017 Single, Sarah

I'd like to think this is the sequel to the casual pinup, Sarah came over to Tedd's house oblivious of the fact that she was naked, Tedd was too uncomfortable to say anything, then a little while later, Sarah goes over to the wardrobe by the mirror to grab a watch and finally notices her reflection.
  6. Story, Friday June 30, 2017

Yeah, I'm definitely seeing intentional foreshadowing here now, but no indication that Sarah tried or even asked Tedd about it, I imagine Tedd would have assumed that Sarah might not have enough energy or something to use it. Or be stumped, Tedd was stumped by his ability to shrug off enchantments for a while as well, and avoided thinking about it too much because it brought on the angst. Grand Godmother, not grandmother, unless it turns out Adrian is actually Tedd's father and not Edward, which I have strong reservations about, since it would change the whole dynamic between Tedd and Edward... Not sure how much Stargate you might have watched, but there was a point where Jack O'neil had a crapton of Ancient knowledge uploaded into his brain and was essentially corrupting his own knowledge, but while that was happening he managed to build a device that allowed him to boost the power of the stargate to send him to the home of those that could help get the knowledge out and fix his brain. He had no idea at the time why he was building it, it was almost instinctual that the subconscious was able to peice together enough of the Ancient knowledge to build it. Tedd could have been doing something similar expect without having the risk of brain overload, he might not have known how or why the components he used worked the way they did, but it did.

I'm not convinced that Tedd learned how to build the second TFG by using schematics of the original. I think he reverse engineered it by way of taking it apart and putting it back together again numerous times.
  8. Story Wednesday June 28, 2017

Yeah thinking about it after, I don't think that was was PTSD on Nanase's part, Nanase probably knew something was odd about her before France, she might have been exhibiting dreaming symptoms before the trip, like glowing hands during martial arts class, and being told she could be awakened didn't surprise her? Just a guess. but yeah she didn't exhibit any negative feelings about the trip itself. The knowledge of another immortal believing that her and Susan were lied to might have given her mixed feelings at best considering what she had been through in the month prior to Hammerchlorians, but then hearing first hand that it might have been true would make her understandably angry.
  9. Story, Friday June 30, 2017

Yeah, I'm thinking that Tedd can't cast spells on his own unless he has some kind of special foci to bridge the gap. The wands and watches are catalysts, they are created to hold spells and energy for wizards and even nonawakened, heck probably anyone could use (if there's enough ambient energy or the catalyst contains enough energy, of course). Tedd's gloves wouldn't hold the spells, Tedd has the spells, the glove just allows the transfer of the spell to the catalyst....and possibly to other people? Just a guess but Pandora did say that a Seer would have the knowledge needed to teach others, so maybe through the glove Tedd could teach Nanase how to fly again, or Elliot how to morph into sexy girls again, etc. And the Gauntlet's battle mode might actually let Tedd cast some spells as if he was a standard wizard, or maybe even more.
  10. NP, Friday June 23, 2017

Tedd recently showed fear over losing the TFG and other tech that he's worked on, yeah he might have been referring to his dad taking it away, but he could also have been referring to DGB as a whole deciding to confiscate it. If they do know about the tech, one of the main reasons that they haven't confiscated it might be because it serves a redundant purpose at the moment, either they already have similar devices that do the job, or they have wizards capable of illusions or morphs that do the job. If the system changes, those wizards are now useless and if they don't have their own CMD, then they'll be wanting Tedd's tech so that they can at least have the ability to disguise agents.

This point does raise the question of was there another motive for Edward's "promotion"? Does Liefeld know what Arthur was talking about in the last meeting? Did he know about it before the incident at the school and felt that Edward could be an issue and needed to get him out of the way so to speak? Did Arthur manipulate Liefeld into transferring Edward because he may have been a threat to whatever plans he has? Or was it truly a concern that Edward was too emotionally attached to people in Moperville to be an effective agent and that Arthur was just unlucky in his acceptance of coming out of retirement to suddenly have to deal with the stuff happening?
  12. Story Wednesday June 28, 2017

This is one of the most obvious gaps: Susan apparently didn't get any therapy/counselling, but neither did Grace ... so, does it mean Nanase and Susan were quiet enough not even Edward found what happened in France? In any case, the Magus incident was several months before the trip to France, so he couldn't know about it yet. That's why my original theory was that Edward had asked for Helena and Demetrius' help investigating who the other Immortal is. They discovered a connection with Elliot and possibly Tedd, and somehow Nanase and/or Susan came up on their radar with Susan being in danger, and ended up getting forced to reset for some reason before they could report back to Edward. I've talked about it at great length before but it is a sticking point that we can't assume that Helena and Demetrius' actions haven't been without a specific purpose and that they are malicious. We don't have enough info to take Jerry's stance that they lied to Susan when not even Susan, nor Jerry, knows the full story. The PTSD was still there for sure, we saw it with Susan in Hammerchlorians when she was recalling the events of the trip, she refused to mention that it was her that dealt the killing blow to the vampire, and her angst induce awakening was due to finding out that one of the weapons she was given to fight with was nothing more than a cheap gag item. With Nanase it didn't show as much until this past Saturday (comic time) when she learned that the same two Immortals were apparently still stringing people into fighting vampires for them. Oh yeah, Susan's reaction to hearing about there being vampires in Moperville was definitely a PTSD reflex.

That's rather like taking the HHGTTG approach isn't it? "It was on display, sure it was in the basement behind a bunch of stuff but it was there for you to see if you happened to find it." I'm not saying that Edward had to report it the second Will and Gill left the house, but if Edward didn't report it within the week, It'd probably be considered dereliction of duty. I was mainly talking about the TFG, and it would likely apply to the Gauntlet as well, as for the watches, yeah Tedd can probably get everything he needs for those from arcades, radio shack/circuit city, or cannibalizing video game peripherals, and only the soldering gun would get used.
  14. NP, Friday June 23, 2017

I just figured that if Edward was concerned about the issue of national security, hiding the fact that he's in possession of a CMD like that from his superiors wouldn't be a good idea. Pandora told Sarah that Edward has been giving full disclosure of what members of the Main Eight are capable of, at first I thought she could have been lying about that, but when she repeated her concern about Sarah telling Edward about her spell after we learned more about her motives, I'm pretty certain she was telling the truth. So I really do think that Edward would have filed something stating that he was in possession of a CMD for the purpose of creating human forms for the Uryuoms William and Gillian. If he didn't and his superiors found out later, through something that Tedd might have done, Edward could be in serious trouble. At least if his superiors knew about it, they'd have made sure Edward had some plan to deal with anything that might happen. The events of Sister would surely have had serious repercussions if that was the first time Leifeld heard about Edward's son playing with a CMD. Tedd doesn't need a 3d printer if he has access to other types of fabrication method, like a metal lathe, CNC machine and a soldering gun. That shell doesn't have to be plastic.

Maybe, I dunno, I do know that William stated that he could run for President (though he expected to lose by a landslide) which would also mean he can vote in US elections. I'll concede that dual citizenship would be likely for William, but if he's primarily a US citizen with a secondary Uryuom citizenship, then it's possible he'd fall under US Law first and Uryoum law when he's on the parent planet or if there's some unusual circumstances like relations between Uryuoms and Humans going sour and the parent planet requiring all Uryuoms to leave Earth or something. It's possible that William's parent worked in the field of cosmetic modification devices and built those for a living. Kinda like how auto manufacturer employees can get better deals on the cars they build, William's parent was able to get one of the CMD he made. Oh I don't doubt that Edward knew William and Gillian beforehand, Edward might have helped them get jobs or something, maybe Edward helped get William's parents settled in on Earth. The ban had 2 more years to go when Dan started the comic, and there was a fair amount of debate about whether the ban should be extended, but that didn't go through so the ban ended in 2004. It's possible that the ban was talked about in one of his classes in high school, or maybe relatives discussed it at Christmas or Thanksgiving (My family always talks current events and politics and such when we're all together) so I can see Dan getting the idea of the TFG's grandfather status from that kind of thing.
  16. http://www.egscomics.com/?id=2364 I said on Discord that I think she's looking like she is because she wants to be as sincere as possible with Tedd. I think Tedd already knows that it was Box that marked him (Grace mentioned her as the creepy girl from TV and suspected her of marking people, and Sarah confirmed that she was responsible for the energy levels in Moperville), so don't think she hide that from him, she might not say anything about being Box but I don't think she needs to. Anyway, her child form wouldn't be taken as seriously, she usually comes across as either mischievous, or emotionally vulnerable, and her older form it too serious sometimes, and has had the habit of coming across as condescending, Pandora doesn't need any of that right now.
  17. NP, Friday June 23, 2017

I'm just saying Edward was describe as the head of the paranormal division, but is that for the whole country, or just the upper midwest US? We don't know for sure, but Assistant Director Liefeld comes across as the point at which the paranormal division attaches to the rest of the FBI, and considering he had to make a new division to transfer Edward to, I gotta believe there are other divisions that work alongside the paranormal, Edward did seem to separate paranormal from aliens when Wolf questioned it, so maybe there's a separate alien division that has called upon Edward's expertise a few times. Still I don't think Edward would be as isolated in his career that he needn't worry about who to report to.
  18. Story Wednesday June 28, 2017

I think that if Edward knew who it was that appeared in the forest, he'd had gone directly to Adrian, but it's apparent they weren't on good terms then so Adrian likely wouldn't referred to under "some friends of mine". Adrian hadn't seen his mother in 14 years prior to her hospital visit, if Edward had told Adrian that he suspected Adrian's mother of playing games, Adrian should have said something about it during the visit, he certainly shouldn't have been surprised by her sudden appearance, sure he hadn't seen her in 14 year, but if Edward had talked to him about the incident 2 years prior then Adrian would have known his mother was still around and causing trouble.
  19. Yes, I took a page from Sarah's Sketchbook.
  20. Maybe, though the largest silhouette doesn't seem big enough to be Tedd's normal size anyway, even though Sarah is in a taller and bustier form herself. Quite possible too, I didn't want to take the boring route though, at least I don't think the route I did take was boring.
  21. What Are You Listening To?

ahh yeah, I remember in Grade 6, our teacher had us listen to the song a number of times and taught us about it's heavy use of sampling, I didn't remember where the samples came from if he had even mentioned it at all.
  22. What Are You Listening To?

It's "come on and break." except for the first instance it was "go on and break"
  23. I get the feeling the the Magus issue will have been dealt with by the time Sarah got a spell like that. I just thought though, looking at the picture, there are silhouettes around Kitty Tedd that suggest she's being shrunk, which makes me think that the description is actually describing a process of summoning a clone form, maybe of herself first? Then turning the clone into busty kitty Tedd, then shrinking her to the size she liked. I mean we do have a precedent for her doing that sort of thing inside her simulations, so why couldn't Sarah eventually get a spell that lets her do that outside her simulations?
  24. Story Wednesday June 28, 2017

So, unless Dan deliberately lied about that ... Ahh, yeah, forgot about that, darn. It still would have made a good twist that a human would desire to look like an Uryuom.
