Gotta correct myself, it wasn't to entice farmers, it was to support dairy farmers when prices fell and to keep the price of dairy from falling too low. But there was also a boom in production a few years ago which caused farmers to expand their operations but that boom didn't last as long as people thought. Last year it was reported that there was 1.2 billion pounds of cheese sitting in cold storage that may never get eaten.

Sweet, I wasn't the only one thinking this.

I can tell you that Emperor Norton II reads Dumbing of Age.

I thought Americans did that as a way to entice people to go into cattle farming. And now there's warehouses full of decades old cheese.

If Edward is the descendant of Gaius Verres, it would make you wonder if Gaius was also a wizard (this is strictly thinking EGS universe here) maybe the Verres line was one of the first to regain magic after the last system change, or maybe Gaius himself was one of the first new wizards. We have know idea when the last system change was, just that it was in Pandora's previous incarnation and Dan's danced around her current age quite a bit, just that the last system change was during her previous life.

I'm guessing Adrian got a "taste" when Grace showed him her normal squirrely form and compared the "Shade Tail"(gonna us that as her regular combat form and Omega as her "amped up" form) form with that. Greg did comment that her normal squirrely form had great power, but Adrian didn't seem impressed by it. Adrian could have compared Grace's potential in those forms with Noah's, since Noah is also a greater chimera. Grace having Lespuko dna might make her potential not have the same "taste" but her squirrely form could have had less potential than Noah, while "Shade Tail" was considerably greater than Noah.

http://www.egscomics.com/?id=2311 Elliot's like "...but I just started loving my spells!" Also, looks like Dan was thinking about the "Tedd forgot to do something" NP, though he seems to be on the fence about it being canon or not, it certainly is one of those "it could, or it couldn't" stories. Also also, Tedd looks more noticeably female in this page than the previous two.

I swear, every time they come out with a new OS claiming to be "easier to use" it turns out to only be "only if you leave it as we set it up", and make it feel like pulling teeth for the more tech savvy people to customize.
-
It's possible Adrian could "taste" the potential of Grace.

I was in the wierd situation back in high school of having Windows 95 at home before the high school started upgrading to it. We had the CD-ROM version and I had gotten used to being able to choose an express install and then being able to install the extras just by popping the CD back in and telling it to install media player, or the games or whatever. Then one day I was in my tech class and the teacher asked me if I wanted to help another student build a new computer, I jumped at the opportunity, then after getting it built, was handed a stack of floppies labelled Windows 95, my jaw dropped at the thought that with CD-ROM being more common that the latest OS was still being sold on floppy disks...

It's more like having to pull batteries from other devices because someone forgot to get a new pack and the stores are closed.

I'm more worried about forgetting (or my parents forgetting) to charge them or having to replace batteries in general.

Tedd could always help rebuild DGB by teaching them the new system and get a head start on dealing with any rogues that crop up, but then the cycle would just repeat.
-
I was just stating that Mild-Mannered and Mei looked pretty similar to begin with, the hair pin and bot emphasized it.

That might be very tricky to accomplish and I'm not sure it'd be guaranteed to work either. I think it'd have to be a situation where the danger would likely end up causing magic to change anyway so doing something to make it happen sooner would be the solution. If the danger was imminent though, I don't think it could be done. Then again we only know of one reason the Will of Magic would change the system (it doesn't want to be public) it had taken Pandora the better part of a year to set up conditions to make magic public and get the Will to consider changing the system. Tedd would need to work a lot faster than that. Also while the Will has a flair for the dramatic, it might not consider a system change to save a tiny handful of people. Maybe Tedd could blackmail the Will into doing something to save her friends, threaten to reveal magic no matter how many times the system can change, Tedd's got the ability to decipher the changes (though she doesn't know it yet) and maybe the Will doesn't want to be constantly changing things and so might intervene in Tedd's favour.
-
The one thing that is absolutely certain is that Tedd will be unable to make magic public. Just having that dream crushed is significant because even if Magic doesn't change, Tedd wouldn't have any reason to want to continue researching it. Elliot and the others could argue that Tedd can still help them, and Edward could suggest joining DGB and help protect people from rogue mages and monsters and other paranormal things, but Tedd would be constantly reminded of how helpless the general public is against magic and that only solution would result in the loss of magic for everyone.

And that wasn't even her full Omega form.

Political Discussion Thread (READ FIRST POST)

Which in turn was running out of steam crusading against people of colour. It's like I said before, people who consider themselves superior are grasping at straws in their attempt to remain superior, they're like a wild animal being backed into a corner. It isn't about a person's privacy and safety in a bathroom, it's an excuse because saying they don't want to share isn't an acceptable reason to deny something. -
I haven't played with linux in over 10 years so it probably is easier to work with now (or at least there are some distros that are) but I remember having a hard time getting Mandrake connected and trying to find programs compatible with it back then was pretty tough.

He would lose the ability to turn into a statue for long periods of time as well, so he would have to upgrade his knowledge the same way everyone else does, and he wouldn't get into a situation where there's a huge knowledge gap to fill. Transistors didn't get looked at for practical use until after WWII (1947 according to wiki) so yeah I doubt any WWII tech could be jury-rigged into something resembling a modern computer.

It actually wouldn't take much, all Mild Mannered needs is for her hair to be in a bun at the back with the pin through it. Her face, glasses and bangs are already pretty close.

What Edward does is not unlike doctor's prescription notes. I was mainly talking in terms of raw power. When it comes to skill, yeah Noriko would be better than Grace.
