  1. Story Wednesday February 15, 2017

It's easy to get it mixed up as Tedd did hug Elliot in "End of an Era".
  2. Story Wednesday February 15, 2017

I think it's more like Tedd was starting to get agitated like Elliot was in "Identity", though Elliot didn't have a Grace on hand use Hug and ignored the fact that Tedd was a girl.
  3. NP: Wednesday February 15, 2017

So the fact that Grace may be the second most powerful mortal on Earth (next to Tedd) she's still a mere Muggle? I am wondering though if Pandora referring to Catalina that way is Pandora still being a bit bitter about Catalina's name based affinity.
  4. EGS Strip Slaying

Wow, well done. This is one you definitely must post to Dan considering he plays Overwatch. I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it.
  5. Story Wednesday February 15, 2017

Vladia is just like Grace, though while Vladia doesn't have any Lespuko DNA to allow her to mix and match forms, her current form is not an enchantment.
  6. Story Wednesday February 15, 2017

That spell would probably work along the same lines as Tedd's gender change spell in that it's a permanent thing and not an enchantment, so I don't see Abraham losing knowledge of the current era, the statue spell though seems to be an enchantment with a trigger link to the diamond, obviously the diamond would lose it's magic so I would imagine the statue spell would end as well.
  7. NP: Wednesday February 15, 2017

That though did occur to me, we have an example of Noah being able to write notes with magical effects, I would expect an Immortal like Pandora to be more elaborate.
  8. Story Wednesday February 15, 2017

I would think that the TFG would still work on Grace, because it's power is based on Uryuom Power, not magic, and Grace has Uryuom Power. If we were to continue to compare Sister 3 with the first Sister arc, we could probably say that we're at the point where Elliot just touched the diamond and believes that the clock's ticking for how long Ellen would live. They didn't have all the information back then to properly assess what happened, and I think that's the same now with Tedd not having all the information about what's happening with Magic. The one fact that she knows for sure is that Magic doesn't want to be public which has her emotionally distraught because that was her dream, everything else is speculation driven by those emotions. Tedd's especially worried that her Dad would one day decide she shouldn't have the TFG anymore and that's another batch of distraught emotions.
  9. Story: Monday February 13, 2017

The fact that you need special software to get the job done fits my point nicely. Was also basing it on the many rants I've seen you make on trying to get programs to play nice with each other.
  10. NP: Wednesday February 15, 2017

In terms of her expecting Rhoda to shrink the boar? It was a 50/50 guess and it's really hard to predict what Rhoda would have done the first time she cast the spell. Also not the only time Pandora was wrong, she didn't expect Rhoda to awaken so quickly and that many new spells already.
  11. Story: Monday February 13, 2017

Ok how about this, Magic is universal, but if we are to use computer terms like Disco Wizard did, we can say that every species is like a computer and the universe is the internet with magic energy being all the bits flowing through it. Uryuoms can be considered pre-intel Macs, highly specialized to do certain things, not really cross compatible with PCs. Seyunolus like Grace seem to be Intel Macs, can possibly be compatible but would take quite a bit of work to do so. Human's would obviously be PCs. As hkmaly states, the Will of Magic wouldn't be able to do anything to the energy itself (the internet) but changing how Humans interact with it would be like replacing Windows with Linux, eventually Humans would figure out how to reconnect to the internet.

Yeah, but the insurance on the Bugatti's gotta be steep.

One would expect that, indeed.... ... and one would be mistaken. The thing about tabletop RPGs is that while the player characters are supposed to be the heroes, they don't necessarily have to be heroic, especially when dealing with character creation that uses a perks/flaws system where the player can give their character some flaws in order to get more points to spend elsewhere, so you get kleptomaniac or lecherous or worse flaws on a character and they have to role play those flaws or else the GM can deny xp or special bonuses, or even have that character removed from the game in creative ways. There are some systems, or at least house rules that allow for players to pay off flaws over time to simulate character overcoming those flaws and becoming a better person, one GM I knew would only allow 1 or 2 XP per session so that a player couldn't just remove a flaw after 1 or 2 games. Downgrading flaws might also be doable, like if someone had a character that had a habit of murdering a random townsfolk every so often, they might be able to pay to downgrade to punching a random person in the face or something.
  14. Story: Monday February 13, 2017

Yeah, I think Edward is trying hard to give Tedd everything to make up for Noriko leaving, but he's unable to really express his feelings sometimes especially when it comes to not understanding Tedd's interests and behaviour and so his reactions come across negatively to Tedd. Of course Tedd not knowing exactly why she liked being female lead to some awkward responses when Edward questioned it like the claim that it was a vacation. And no, I'm not blaming Tedd for getting in this situation, there's no way she could have known what to say before. She's still scared about what might happen, and I do wonder if Tedd believed it was her fault that Noriko left, like "If mom loved me, she wouldn't have left" and that makes Tedd worry about Edward leaving as well because of this.
  15. Story: Monday February 13, 2017

I said as much in the thread about the previous comic, though not in those exact words. From what little we saw about Tedd before school today, I got the feeling she was actively avoiding Grace and her father (though for different reasons). Normally if someone has been/is/will be interacting with someone else, Dan will give some indication that the other person is there. But if I recall correctly Tedd was drawn to be totally alone. The thing that stands out for me is way back at the end of the first Sister arc, just before Ellen zaps Tedd, Edward comments that it was disturbing seeing one's son as a girl. which I'll agree does sound transphobic. But shortly after we see Edward thinking to himself that maybe he should have picked a gender neutral name when Tedd was born, that doesn't sound transphobic to me, more like feeling it would be easier if the name wasn't awkward to say when referring to a daughter or a son. I just can't imagine someone who's transphobic thinking that.

He apparently makes enough to own 3 very expensive cars, so of course he's going to have telemarketers calling him with offers to help him spend that money.
  17. Story: Monday February 13, 2017

That is a very good question. First step would be to try to find out whether Mr. Verres knows any more about either the Other Half or Magic changing, but it would be difficult to do without telling him why they're asking. Second best source of info is likely the griffins, when they meet again. Third might be Nioli, if we ever see her again. The fact that magic seems to be mainstream on the other half of the world suggests two possibilities. 1: The Will of Magic wants there to be a distinct difference between the two halves, it had allowed one half to develop based on magic being free, the other half based on magic being restricted. As such the other half probably doesn't have anything to worry about with a system change as the Will's intention would be to prevent magic being free on this half. 2: There are two separate Wills, one for each half that shares energy between then, but each has there own way of controlling how people develop magic. One Will wants everyone to be able to use magic, while the other would rather see humans develop technology instead of always relying on magic to accomplish things, but at the same time wants a few to have access to magic to spice things up a bit from time to time. Either way I don't think the Griffins have anything to worry about, because their half is more magic oriented, I'm inclined to think that the last system change that happened on this half didn't affect the other half and it it did, it seems like it should have been documented better considering they would have likely deciphered the changes quicker.
  18. What Are You Ingesting?

Having a store made egg salad wrap and a can of coconut water.
  19. Things that make you go WTF

The thing about today's Grrl Power, is it makes me understand why Dan doesn't want time travel in EGS, what Krona did amounts to an "undo button" which basically means David Barrack can have main characters get into deadly situations as long as Krona's there to create a save point for them. And you know there will be people that will say "Why didn't they call Krona up before they went in?" if something does happen and someone gets killed. With EGS, Dan has to really thinking about what he wants to happen to characters, and if it's something really bad, he's gotta be able to commit to it. At best, he can do something and then say it was a dream or that it was an Immortal that used their foresight to deduce the chances of something bad happening. Then again, while we have evidence of healing magic being possible, we're not sure if resurrection magic is. It'd be interesting if someone were to cast Life3* on a character before they went into danger. *A spell in Final Fantasy 6 that could be precast on a character, then if said character died, they were instantly revived. Though, there were a lot of times when that happened only for them to get immediately killed again because the enemy would use a group attack ability or spell before I could have someone heal them.
  20. Story: Monday February 13, 2017

I think it's more like Humans are the ones using photosynthesis at least in terms of passive absorption of energy, while Uryuoms are like warm blooded animals that generate their own body heat. Humans being able to actively draw more energy happens to be part of the system and as such is also subject to change. The passive absorption doesn't necessarily need to change though, just the requirements to use it.
  21. Things that make you go WTF

Today's Grrl Power. It's like the past few pages were "I'm going to make it really dark for everyone" then today "Boop, now we can be lighthearted again!"
  22. NP: Monday, February 13, 2017

That would make having a seemingly random book appear before them pointless if she has to then appear to explain what it's for, I'm certain that's what the note is supposed to accomplish. No, ijuin get's all the internets.
  23. Story: Monday February 13, 2017

But the main difference is Uryuoms generate their own power, while humans absorb it from the environment.
  24. Things that make you go WTF

At least it's not AA, then it'd be likely he wouldn't be driving those cars for a while.
  25. Story Wednesday February 8, 2017

Tedd's hair is no shorter than it was at the card tournament, and speaking from experience having hair like that, it takes quite a bit of wind to move it a considerable amount and at that point I've got my hand trying to hold it down so that it doesn't get too messed up. Even if it the hair lifted enough to show the skin, any dark spot could be confused as shadow. Also, I'm trying to find where Dan mentioned it, but I coulda swore he stated once that he intentionally made marks darker for our benefit and they're actually not that noticeable unless your actively looking for one.
