I thought I'd be letting my childhood get the better of me when I saw that, but then I looked at the page and I was not disappointed.

So, I just asked a friend of mine who's trans-female and currently in the transition process if her doctor had suggested she wear girl clothes for a while: She agrees that Tedd wearing those clothes would be because she didn't want her dad to know. Apparently copy/pasting from Discord retains text formating, hehe.

That would give a skewed perception of things though, being anonymous would give a false sense of how others would react, at least it would at this point in time. Going to school where a number of people know you is going to be a completely different experience. A decision like this would be easier going into college than being halfway through senior year. At least with going into college anyone who might have known Tedd from high school can be told that she made the transition over the summer (to avoid suspicion of magic) and it's unlikely that everyone that knows of Tedd would end up going to the same college so it would be like getting a new start. As it is, Tedd would have to deal with Tony and others like him and that may be hard on her.

What seems strange to me about that, is the fact that females have no issue with wearing clothes that males could wear. Like in terms of cross dressing, a male could wear a skirt and it'd be enough to be considered out of place by most people (unless they're in Scotland and it's a kilt, or course), females can wear pants, a button up shirt, a suit, whatever and no one would reasonably question it, for a female to really be considered cross dressing, they'd have to really make themselves physically look male. Back when MNHS was dealing with school uniforms and Susan was considered cross dressing by wearing the uniforms assigned to the male students, I found that to be really odd because it really wasn't any different than what she normally wore to school and no one considered her cross dressing then. So why would a person considering gender reassignment have to be compelled to wear dresses? Yeah, Tedd does seem to be relying on change blindness to avoid getting caught, but that's probably more to do with the desire to not get caught and have her dad find out.

Considering Kitty was a very recent, spur of the moment creation by Dan, it's hard to say how he plans on bringing her into the main story. Obviously, Catalina not recognizing her is a good indication that she's never met Kitty before. We'll just have to see. Dan wouldn't go through this much work to design a throwaway character.

Not sure if there's anything related that they could have mentioned about it, Tedd had already made Edward aware that the ambient energy around Moperville was unusually high, now Edward would know that it's because of an energy clog preventing the flow of magic to another half of the world. Tedd and Grace wouldn't know about an Immortal's involvement with the clog until after the debriefing. The only information that was withheld about the past couple nights was what happened Friday night during the card tournament but as I said, there wasn't any reason to believe it was connected to the stuff that happened Saturday night. If Sarah was at the debriefing, she would have made the connection, but would likely have withheld that info from Edward because she might have to reveal how she knew and why.

Going to shift the topic north of the border for a bit. Currently there's a bill being looked at by the Canadian senate to amend the Canadian Human Rights Act and Criminal Code to allow for protection of Trans and gender non-binary people. This looks like a good thing as it includes them as an identifiable group for the purposes of criminal sentencing of hate crimes. Opponents of the bill justify their opposition with the fear that such a law would violate the freedom of expression and make it a crime to use the wrong gender pronouns, like I could be fined if I call a trans-female a he, even if by accident or without knowing they were trans-female. The bill would only deal with extreme cases where such misuse would be considered hate based and discrimination. Certainly I'm all for equality and personally believe that a lot of the opposition we see to equality laws and rulings are from a group of people that have for a long time considered themselves to be top dog now feeling like they're about to lose that spot. But honestly, it's called the Canadian Human Rights Act and it should be a no brainer that that should mean ALL HUMANS and if you start picking and choosing who it should be included in it, then we might as well change it to the Canadian Rights for Some Humans Act.

And Google tells me that there's a human food CO-OP in London Ontario, it deals in organic, fair trade foods though.

It might be that the Canadian CO-OP is a separate entity from the American one.

"Groceries" at the CO-OP stores here amount to animal feeds and other farming related stuff, so 500 Euros for that wouldn't do me much good other than possibly hanging the birdfeeder back up outside.

That was exactly my point. Grace will want Tedd to be happy, and will love her no matter what. But for all of Grace's good intentions this is something she can't relate to. Elliot can. The thing is though, Grace has been instrumental in Tedd learning about being genderfluid and figuring out what she's been feeling and such. Sure gender doesn't matter for Grace as her attraction to Tedd isn't physical attraction, but mental attraction. But at the same time, Grace will be concerned about the reasoning for Tedd doing this and the fact that Tedd hasn't told Edward of this decision, I'm really hoping that Grace picked up on Tedd's request to not tell Edward about her mark and magic insight as Tedd being worried about how he'd react to it. Grace would not want to see a wedge driven between Tedd and Edward. As for Elliot, yes he's Tedd's best friend, but I don't see how he could understand Tedd's situation any better than Grace, Tedd as far as we know, hadn't ever confided in Elliot about why she likes girl forms as much as she does. Yes, we recently saw Elliot accepting his female forms, but I don't think that translates into "I fully understand why Tedd does this now!" because they are completely different situation, Elliot wasn't the one being bullied about his appearance, or has a parent that shows disapproval beyond the type of outfit Cheerleadra should have. Elliot's seen this, but I don't think he knows just how much it was affecting Tedd. I think Elliot would want Tedd to talk to her dad first about this just like Grace would. I think Elliot would believe that if Tedd decided to remain a girl and not tell Edward, only bad things could happen when Edward did find out. Edward once described Elliot as being Tedd's voice of reason. I hope we see Elliot continue to be that.

Anything based on Uryuom energy should not be affected by any magic system change for the same reason that Uryuoms themselves won't be affected. The watches don't use Uryuom energy which is why Grace can't use them. So even if the system changes, Tedd would still be able to switch genders, but it would be temporary and Tedd could still likely resist it like an enchant at any time. So I guess the choice is more what should the default gender be if Tedd isn't able to use his mark spell anymore. Though here's something I'm wondering, Tedd doesn't know what exactly the dangerous rarity is all about, not even Pandora knows but she's going to try to find out, hopefully before there's a system change. It's never been clear what exactly would happen if there's a system change. Does it wipe everyone's magic out completely, spells included? Or is it like changing the encryption. people still have their spells, but they're locked out without the password? The fact that all hints point at Tedd being unaffected by system changes and having the ability to "see" magic, makes it seem like she has admin privileges. So regardless of how a system change affects others, would it affect Tedd's mark spell? What I'm saying is, while Tedd doesn't know it yet, she may still be able to freely switch back and forth with her mark spell because of simple system protection.

And....I totally goofed when reading the comic, I completely missed that Elliot did say "gym class" and I thought he just said "switch back before class" lol, I just now noticed it re-reading the page.

While not as extreme a swing up here, it's still a bit of a roller coaster with temps below freezing one day, above freezing the next and repeating.

Maybe she's still in High School as well and bumps into Rhoda or Catalina in class or lunch, maybe Rhoda or Catalina sees Kitty accidentally use her mark spell in school or during another date or something and decide to help her learn about magic. It doesn't have to happen in this story arc.

I don't think any good would come from Tedd making up stuff, but at the same time telling Edward about the connection between the increased ambient energy and the creepy girl that appeared on TV would likely complicate things. Elliot's probably already told Edward about what the griffins were on this side of the world for, that knowledge doesn't affect anyone.

I'm basing this on my own high school experience and have no idea how it works in the US, but by the time I was in senior year pretty much all of my classes I chose myself based on what credits I still needed to get my diploma and I managed to get my phys-ed credits in grade 9 and 10. We don't know if Tedd needed to take another phys-ed class for senior year so it's possible she doesn't need to worry about that.

Just send a couple packets of black pepper with the note "Please be kind enough to throw this in own face." That should be good.

What she knew before was basically being able to scale single entities and adjust specific parts of herself. Enlarging Kitty's sleeves was her guessing that she might be able to adjust specific parts of others as well, there was a lot of things that she did that she wasn't sure would work.

I don't think this arc will be the last we see of Kitty, and I'm thinking she'll either make an appearance in the main story, or maybe Dan has plans for another NP that focuses on Kitty Hi-jinks. Both would be good.

Tedd didn't do a very good job at conveying the existance of space whales to Edward, though he might not have wanted to give his dad any hints that something was happening to him, probably goes back to him not wanting to think about his parents being wrong about him. Him discovering that his insight into magic is more than what he thought it was would rank up there with not wanting to tell Edward about being genderfluid. Tedd doesn't know what having the special insight means and he doesn't know how his dad would react if he told him. Maybe this is a case where Tedd thinks that if Edward knew that Tedd had special insight than no one else has, that he'd be obligated to tell his superiors about it and Tedd would end up being put under the proverbial microscope for wizards to try to learn more.

It wouldn't be difficult for Pandora to find out. That does go along with not caring about hiding anymore. There's also the possibility that Rhoda accidentally using new spells won't surprise Pandora anymore now that Pandora knows she's awakened. Now it's a matter of "What will Rhoda do with her new spells?" Pandora might keep a closer eye on Catalina though, to see how long it takes for her to awaken, maybe bet another coke with herself. While we do have proof that someone can accidentally use their mark spell almost immediately after being marked, do you think Dan will go that route again with Kitty, or hold off for another story? I can see Kitty making another appearance before this arc is done, but it might be more a case of Rhoda and Catalina walking past her without her realizing they were the ones she was chasing.
