Huh...that is true. Ok, they'll all keep quiet, but Rhoda will have different reasons. Diane and Lucy not wanting people to see them geek out about something, Rhoda just not wanting to draw too much attention to herself. Though...I wonder if Rhoda would come back later with Catalina. I think Catalina would like Warcraft. Actually I shouldn't state that seeing as I haven't seen the movie yet, darned hype train... lol
  3. Things You Only Noticed On Reread

You know, for a while, I thought the bit where Ellen states that Elliot thought Tedd was cute referred to the part where Tedd took off his glasses to prove that the V5 form made a person bisexual, but thinking about it, it could also refer to when Elliot first met Tedd. I know later on after Elliot met Noah, Ellen referred to him as "third grade Tedd awkward" which kinda contradicted the flashback panel of when Elliot rescued Tedd from Tony (4th grade), but it's possibly Elliot had seen Tedd around for a while and had assumed Tedd was a girl. Elliot did hint at the fact that he and Tony used to be friends until something happened, it's likely Tony had been harrassing Tedd for some time and Elliot finally couldn't stand see that happen so he step up to Tedd's defense. Yeah that last link has Elliot say that it was before he and Tedd met, but Elliot was likely just trying to avoid stating that it was about Tedd. He'd done it before with Justin, during "lunchtable revelations" he mentions fighting a bunch of bullies picking on someone outside of school, and when asked who that someone was, he said they wouldn't know him, even though Susan, Sarah and Tedd had already met Justin. I don't think Nanase would have much of a problem with it, she's been with Ellen for some time now, and probably for a while more before they actually decide to have a family together, the mental bonds would likely be strong enough for Nanase to be "Yes, Ellen is a guy right now, but she's still Ellen and I love her and I want to have a baby." I'd say if anything the question would be if Ellen had overcome her feeling uncomfortable with ever being a guy again. Of course, maybe there's a middle ground here, keep Ellen's overall form the same, just give her the dangly man bits?

Diane and Lucy, sure, Rhoda likely wouldn't care who knew. She's more openly nerdy than Diane and Lucy. Oh, and Diane would so be a Forsaken Rogue in WoW. Gankin' Gnomes in Ironforge.
  5. It should be noted that even though Dan mentioned Greg having a new girlfriend a while back (like 2 years ago?) he may not have actually had anyone in particular in mind to be that girlfriend, and if it came to a point where he felt like introducing her, he'd either pick an existing character that fit well, or create someone new. Of course it is equally possible that Dan had already chosen who Greg's new girlfriend was when he had Dex mention it, and is now waiting for an opportunity to surprise us. Just like he apparently knows who Ashley's internet ex-girlfriend is.
  6. The distraction Tedd and mall Elliot sketchbook is also very much Futtershy. Well, when Dan did the sketchbook entry for her, he stated he almost did give her a yellow outfit to go with the pink hair but decided against it because it made her look like a humanized Fluttershy.
  7. Wait, what? This pinup has been up since the end of March, the most recent ones have been up for over a week now. Or are you complaining that you missed being able to post about these when we were posting about them? I'm confused.

From what I've heard so far, if Diane didn't secretly play any of the warcraft games, she might not get much of what happens, this is likely one of those movies that would see a "meh" kind of score on the critic approval site that Tendsaided's video store uses. but it seems that fans of the franchise are enjoying it with no real complaints, and it's apparently busted open the box offices in China already with nearly $100 mill USD made. I'm hoping to go see it tomorrow. When did "Hippo" cease to be a synonym for horse for the typical English speaker and instead refer to the hippopotamus? Well considering the Hippogryphs in WoW have antlers, I would consider it more of a Winged Wapiti than something more equine. Unless, of course, you count the expansions, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, World of Warcraft: Mysts of Pandaria, World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor, and the upcoming World of Warcraft: Legion.

I never really paid much attention to the prequel trilogy, but I was under the impression that it was some radioactive enzyme that was produced in the body, everyone had it to a degree but some that produced higher levels had the potential to become Jedi or Sith.
  10. Story Friday, June 10, 2016

It would have been interesting to have seen a storyline in EGS where Tedd accidentally turned Sarah into part pikachu, aside from the reasons stated, I would imagine the way pokeballs worked wouldn't have fit in well with how Dan envisioned magic working in EGS. I do seem to recall Dan mentioning somewhere that Amanda had been around for a while before EGS started up. That hair on Elliot though.
  11. I would imagine there's some forgiveness for accidental calls such as that, but there may be charges for repeated incidences .
  12. http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=2193 Recaps! Mentioning Tedd's rarity as something none remembers makes it sound like either none who knew about the last one survived to tell about it, or it's been soo long since the last one that all record has been lost to time.
  13. https://www.patreon.com/posts/sequence-susan-5699629 I must say I also like the second stage, but am wondering how Dan would work that hair into the comic. 4th stage looks like she's pretty much accepted the fact that things like this are going to happen to her and she might as well enjoy it. Either that or she's thinking "At least people will stop calling me lanky."
  14. NP Friday June 10, 2016

Lucy's hair is rather jarring to me though, not so much as when Nanase went from having a swatable ponytail to getting it cut short, but I didn't recognize her as Lucy when I saw her like that. Anyway, not surprising Diane would want to see Warcraft because of the Griffins, although they're called Gryphons in Warcraft. There's also Hippogryphs (in the game not the movie) though I don't think those are the hippos Tara mentioned.
  15. OOP CMD Regulations

Wait, are we talking about cosmetic morphing devices or sentient AI's here?
  16. Story Thursday June 9, 2016

Well those cybernetic limbs are still in the trial stages, IIRC they're testing with military personnel who've lost limbs in combat, so yeah the degree at which the limb can accurately read the electrical impulses is still likely low and there's probably a learning curve as well, but it still promising and we'll probably see cybernetic limbs that move more fluidly in the near future. I'm guessing the cold blooded and hollow bones thing would require a complete genetic overhaul to accomplish properly, not sure what could go wrong with the cold blooded part, but I could see hollow bones breaking under the weight of a person's own body. I think we've speculated that Tara and Andrea couldn't possibly be hollow boned for the reason that their size would be hugely detrimental to any benefit hollow bones could give.
  17. Things that make you sad.

Fallout 4 digital deluxe bundle (base game + all DLC) is apparently free on the XBox store right now. I don't own an XBox One.
  18. Story Thursday June 9, 2016

But the TFG can add bones, or else we wouldn't see morphs with tails. We also know that amputees don't really lose their ability to move a limb they've lost, the nerve endings are still viable in a lot of cases that cybernetic limbs can be made that can translate the electrical impulses from the nerve endings allowing a person to control the prosthetic. I couldn't see why a morph wouldn't be able generate an arm or leg in the way it does a tail and the person be able to use it easily.
  19. OOP CMD Regulations

I'm just basing this on Will's description of it. When he says "other programming methods" I think of languages like C, Assembly or Fortran. The Uryuom governments would likely have restricted CMDs to use a non OOP language, I wouldn't know how they could properly restrict the use of OOP languages for CMDs, locks could be unlocked, mods could be added, etc. It would be easier to have CMDs programmed in a proprietary non-OOP language that most CMD users wouldn't be able to fiddle with.

  21. Story Thursday June 9, 2016

Tedd already tried though. I would think that wands with protective spells could also include anything that could heal as well, and Edward's response would likely be the same.
  22. OOP CMD Regulations

Yeah, it was OOP when used with CMDs. OOP for other stuff would be fine though.
  23. Story Thursday June 9, 2016

Yeah, I don't imagine that Dan would want to make magic be some sort of cure all. There probably is something that could do that level of healing but it might be rare or require a lot of energy, but transformations doing so would seem too easy with how common that type of magic is.
  24. Story Thursday June 9, 2016

Permanent transformations was something I thought of after I posted that, yeah it would help with the amputee example, but would it also help with the other stuff or is there a limit like cancer cannot simply be transformed away?
  25. Story Thursday June 9, 2016

I know, I'd like to think that there's some form of healing magic aside of faster self healing. It's just that there was a big discussion on the previous forums about whether or not the TFG could be used to fix genetic issues like cancer or heart defects or something. I guess it could temporarily give amputees their limbs back, though they'd have to get rezapped every month.
