We never did find out how the Immortal community reacted to Voltaire's campaign to change their rules. There may be a good reason that Jerry Zeus has apparently changed his M.O.. Susan's sudden need to talk to Mr. Verres probably means she's concerned that something peculiar is going on.

Therapeutic Sarah hugs for the win! -
I think it was this comic that had some of us speculating that Susan the Vampire Slayer had an overactive "spider sense" that caused her issues with human (and other) contact. Could it simply be that she can override this response with her oldest and dearest friend?
-
Here. You've been neglecting Sarah, Susan.
-
Here. Pensive Susan is pensive.
-
No, she wasn't left out, but four years isn't that long and Susan knows it. She's incomplete, and she has no clue what to do when her support structure goes away.
-
She's the third wheel in all her friendships and now the job that gave her a place where she was respected and effective is going away. She has no clue how to start, or even if she could even bear a romantic relationship, and college graduation is only four years away. The end of formal education, a beginning for so many, may look like a death sentence to her.

The video store is one of Susan's social outlets--she talks to customers, makes videos with Elliot, even chats with Tensaided. Quitting the store means losing a part of herself.

Here. Darth Fluffy called it.

Even quite beautiful, accomplished, women are human beings after all. Not the alien creatures Rich and Larry, especially Larry, have imagined. Nanase's humiliation may be Larry's revelation. -
Aanndd that train of thought goes off the rails and heads straight for downtown Susanville. Remains to be seen how explosive the cargo is.
-
Here. Rich to the rescue?!?

I'm more than a little interested in what Rich thinks he's up to. -

I am more than a little embarrassed to admit to how long that took me to learn. Fortunately, I was safely married to a woman I love, so at least I didn't have that embarrassment to live down. -

I'm not sure Rich is so much dumb as badly misinformed. There but for the lack of the Internet might have gone I. He has, I think, learned too many things that simply aren't true. -

Nanase is entirely in character... ...For Nanase. Imagine a production of Hamlet with Nanase playing Ophelia. -

Thanks, I wish I'd seen this sooner. I'm not sure it would be such a bad thing to have to wait a few days for the balloon to come down, presumably, it would have landed intact and the Navy could be right there to grab it. There is the danger of a booby-trap, of course, but that would completely demolish the Chinese pretense that this was nothing but a weather balloon. -

Nanase to the rescue, evil doers beware! -
Rachel Welch, wow. This one hits me harder than I would expect, she featured prominently in my post-pubescent fantasies. In my mind she's forever about 25.
-
She probably got it earlier in the day. She certainly got his address.
-
Interesting notion. I have occasionally wondered if I would like a "California" (no tomato sauce) Hawaiian-style pizza. Odds are... yes. Though a pizza named after two states seems slightly surreal.
-
I like pineapple, I like ham, I like pineapple with ham. Tomato sauce does not go well with them, to my taste.

He's not good at it, the connection thing. Both Raven and Ellen were quite surprised that Noah and Elliot became friends so quickly. I think it would take a formal introduction from someone who knew both of their secrets. Diane's not quite that person, yet, though she might be by the end of the evening. Too bad my bingo card has always been Elliot.
-
This is very nearly Noah's dream: someone (besides Raven) he can be "out" to. If only he knew that his friend Elliot would take all his secrets in stride and introduce him to several other people who would accept him, as well.
