That's not good. A good sole shouldn't leave you flat footed.
  2. What Are You Ingesting?

  3. Things that make you go WTF

They're coming to take them away, haha?
  4. Story Wednesday December 14, 2016

Pharaoh, stop. Just stop. If you continue along that line of thought, you know you will sooner or later start on the idea of using crocodile or hippopotamus DNA to increase feline jaw power. And I do not see that ending well.

Newton is the toughest son-of-a-bitch in space!
  6. Story Wednesday December 14, 2016

Even ordinary cats may display startling determination in that department. In order to get at some Greenies kitty treats, my wife's cat stubbornly clawed its way through three layers of wrapping and the quite tough little plastic sack of the Greenies themselves. o.o
  7. Story Wednesday December 14, 2016

So you say, living in Florida, but I am more worried that the private sector will do what it always does and start hedging.
  8. Story Tuesday December 27, 2016

This made me think of this recent little gem from the Freefall webcomic. Notice the counting robots in the first panel.
  9. Story Wednesday December 14, 2016

I am going to write the EU Parliament and complain about the substandard hedgehogs of Europe. We need better legislation aimed at improving them. Colouring them blue and giving them a small circle of yellow stars might also help and ought to be within range of our genetic engineering capabilities.
  10. What Are You Ingesting?

    I thought that was Croco-Cola.
  11. Story Wednesday December 14, 2016

This thing obviously eats crocodiles for breakfast. No wonder it has lived to be 68.
  12. Things that make you sad.

OH SODDING BOLLOCKS. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU, 2016? Carrie Fisher just died. I am about to throw things across the room and scream my head off.
  13. Things that make you sad.

My profoundest condolences. This confounded 2016 seems bound and determined to get a few last kicks to the gut in before ending.
  14. What Are You Watching?

Pharaoh, if I may... I think you are being a little influenced by being a retired God-King, here. Not only are you from a time where most time measuring devices functioned through either star positioning or the shadow cast by the Sun (arguably also a form of star positioning) but you also operated from a position of being in charge of how all time is spent. It is possible that he wore the watch not as much because he was afraid of possible complaints but simply because he was being considerate of his audience. Then again, it may be me who is projecting. I myself tend to ration my time usage when public speaking sharply because I do not wish to have my audience die from boredom. It is such a depressing way to end a performance.
  15. Things that make you sad.

    Goodbye, George. You'll be missed.
  16. What Are You Watching?

The Pharaoh warned about that. Apparently its impact is so hard that it hits like a freight train.
  17. Things That Are Just Annoying

I fear that if you think that is enough to keep idiots from telling you that you are doing it wrong, you may be overly optimistic. *sigh*
  18. Things That Are Just Annoying

For some reason this makes me think of John Cleese playing the dreaded terrorist "l'Acrobat" in the classic TV series "Whoops Apocalypse." Maybe Adobe Acrobat is really an attempt to terrorise the Internet.
  19. Things That Are Just Annoying

As an evangelical Agnostic, I resent it when someone not in my own splinter faith informs me that I am doing my own interpretation wrong. So you have my complete understanding as well as my sympathies and my cooperative annoyance.

See? I was right when I said they were just starting out slowly with lowjinks and building gradually up from there.
  21. The Weather.

Oh right, I'd forgotten them. But they were just a bunch of crazy Danes and Norwegians so they don't count.
  22. Story Friday December 23, 2016

The operative word in that sentence is 'millennia.' See? See? And he has the gall to complain about pacing! >.<
  23. The Weather.

Historically, invading France never seems to help much. The only one I can offhand think of who got away with it was Julius Caesar. Most everybody else at best got a few temporary goodies and a setup for at least one and in some cases several rounds of years of interminable war.
  24. What Are You Ingesting?

If you'll let me know your address, I'll have a tin of Danish sawdust shipped to you.
