  1. Story: 2016, April 4th (Monday)

And this is totally wasted on Elliot, the perfect boyscout... It's a good thing Tedd has matured or he'd have gone ballistic finding out about this, and then having Elliot refuse to use it to it's full potential (as defined by a frustrated teenage boy).
  2. Story Monday March 21, 2016

Oh. Sorry. I got that turned around in my head. On the subject of how Susan was introduced in the comic I currently have nothing to add.

Hey it's not that we ignore the laws of physics, it's just that we view them more as polite suggestions...
  4. Story Monday March 21, 2016

Edit: Feel free to ignore this post. I made a mistake and HarJIT pointed it out in a post below. Apart from ctuttering it up with this comment I'm leaving the post as is, for "hysterical reasons". Besides I put some work into those links... Eh... No? First mention (page 2) First apperance (page 3) First hammer (page 5) First phonecall (page 22) And yet no mention of Susan, but Elliot is involved every single time.
  5. Story Monday March 21, 2016

This post made me think of the "why", as in why would Pandora bother to partially clog the magic drain in Moperville in the first place? If it's her who plugged it up completely, which seems quite likely, then why had she bothered to elevate the magic level many years ago? My current theory is that it all started when Adrian moved there, and that she did it in order to ensure he had easy access to an ample amount of magic. In other words she was trying to be nice to her son. Once she decided that remodeling the world in order to make it a better place for Adrian, turning off the drain entirely was just a matter of tweaking whatever she'd already done to it all those years ago. So that's my theory. Now pick it apart and kick it around.
  6. STORY: Friday March 18, 2016

I can see several dangers caused by this. First of all if the area affected by the heightened magic spread out more people will start noticing that something is going on with both animals and people gaining supernatural abilities. This will eventually blow any attempt to keep the existence or workings of magic secret. Then there is the risk of someone competent going the aberration route and becoming ridiculously powerful. There's even a risk that someone both competent and malicious learn to use magic and ends up becoming powerful enough to become a major danger, perhaps endangering more than just our world. There is also the possibility that the clog caused drainage of magic from an area in the first half of this world might cause a huge power shift. I'm basing this on the thought that where magic is recognized as an important part of the world it would be logic to build strongholds in areas where magic is welling into the world. If this particular "well" was the power source for a major faction the clog could mean that they become vulnerable to attack or desperate enough that they initiate an attack on some neighbor.
  7. Story Wednesday March 16, 2016

I doubt the immortals has a special law that stops elves from joining an organization such as DGB, but they do have the law that forbids immortals from interfering by using magic. It's not unlikely that there are some further details such as a limit on what information they are allowed to divulge about magic. The human ancestry is probably what gives elves slightly more leeway when it comes to using their abilities. On this page Adrian explains that: Given limits like these Adrian would be of little use for the organization. His longevity might be seen as an asset as he could make sure that long term plans does not get distorted, but that's about all I can think of at the moment. Apart from that I can see how working for DGB would put limits on his personal freedom, while doing nothing to lift the limitations he's under from immortal law. As far as I remember it has been said that even as a civilian DGB will help him maintain his identity to keep people from noticing that he doesn't age at the same rate as a normal human.

That's quite likely the only reason that Grace was left alone. Damien was a fanatic and as far as he knew she was his only chance to create his master race. I don't remember if he knew about the Uryuom and their eggs, but I think that at least initially he didn't and he fully intended to breed Grace, so her age was probably what stopped him.

A temporary tattoo appears on the back of her hand?
  10. NP, Wednesday March 9, 2016

A part of me want the comic to thread carefully with regards to this, another part of me, one that's less PC, want to see Tedd's reaction to Grace (who's out of sight) modeling a morph she's designed after stumbling onto a Rule 34 archive on the web... This would probably have to take place rather early in their relationship, while Grace was really naive, and before Tedd got comfortable with having Grace around It won't happen, and that's probably a good thing, but I can't help but imagining him looking scared, slowly backing away, and asking where she got the idea for that form.
  11. NP: Monday, March 7, 2016

OK. I read him as not being an actual person at all, just a manifestation in an image that met Grace's expectations of what an important messenger for Magic would look like. As magic doesn't really have a shape or form, and even less an actual physical presence I used the manifestation as it is the one image we've seen that comes the closest to represent Magic. Note that the only thing that implies that Magic might have any kind of personality as we know it is the claim that it prefers high drama, which doesn't really means there is any kind of intelligence involved. Besides, that wasn't meant to be taken seriously, I just found the idea of the Disco Wizard trolling Elliot funny. It's a lot harder to make a joke about Magic trolling Elliot, as we don't have a face to focus on. Actually we don't know anything about how, or even if, Magic actually has anything we would recognize as thoughts...
  12. NP: Monday, March 7, 2016

Enter the Disco Wizard: Now that's just cheating! Well lets see you deal with this... And suddenly Elliot develops some new side effect. I can't imagine anything suitable, but I'm sure the Disco Wizard has a lot of experience trolling lazy magic users who tries to play the rules.
  13. STORY: Monday March 7, 2016

Personal guess: Cheerleadra is a sufficiently different person from Elliot that when Nanase tried to send a fairy it failed. She's probably trying to send the fairy to Cheerleadra this time instead of Elliot. I'm thinking this is a likely reason as when Elliot changes into any of the alternative forms his personality also changes. Heidi is a blast when playing Mario cart and mild mannered Mildred (I can't remember what name, if any, that form has been given) makes Rhoda seem pushy. This coupled with a change of sex and physical form makes them seem more like completely different people than a simple shape change. In contrast the TF gun hasn't been shown to modify peoples personality to the same degree. It's possible that it's capable of it, but so far it seems Tedd has been rather careful with this aspect. What I remember him doing was tweaking the sexuality of FV5 slightly, but it's implied that it's not a dramatic change. It is a guess so it's going to be interesting to see how close I got it.
