That "Dude" was a French sketch artist who figured out how to charge his clients for "Portraits" by tracing shadows on paper.

First, Ijuin, I don't recall seeing that reference in these forums before. Shame on me if I have forgotten where that pun has been previously posted. Shame on ALL of us if this really is the first time someone has mentioned Charlotte's Web. We must hold ourselves to higher standards and never let a Pun opportunity escape our notice for so long. Second, Liz was growing whiskers in the last panel. You can't have pages of transformation discussions in EGS without SOMEONE transforming.

Has anyone ever traveled in the vicinity of Albuquerque without making a navigational error?

A remarkably succinct summation of what the word has become. The typical American no longer has any interest in the underlying Social, Economic, or Political Philosophy of Communism. -
The calendar is a human invention that is only effective when all humans using a particular calendar agree on certain details. For example, what is the current date? Dan is in the unique position of holding the proxy for every calendar user in the world of EGS. Therefore, the day of the week, date, month, and year on the Enhanced Gregorian System is whatever Dan says it is. If the users of the EGS calendar are not bothered by inconsistencies, irregularities, gaps, or repeated dates, why should it bother those of us who view those characters from another dimension with voyeuristic intentions?

Ashley was compelled to attack a mythical beast on her first date with Elliot. Then she was assaulted by an extra-dimensional alien who looks exactly like Elliot and was coerced into a clandestine program by a Federal officer on her second date with the Elder Dunkle Twin. What else does Liz think can go wrong?

Dan has mentioned before how the characters will sometimes argue with the author. What Dan didn't mention before was that the author was munching on cookies while arguing with the characters. Didn't it ever occur to the author to offer the characters a few dozen cookies (or other Bakery goods) as incentive for cooperation?

Someday it will be revealed that the entirety of Moperville Dan is contained within the mind of one character. I'm thinking Akiko -
The only thing that is worse than the way humans have treated "Monsters" is the way humans have treated other humans.

NO! NOT THE BIG SAD EYES! Let us hope that she will leave us only with what she can carry. If she unleashes that attack indiscriminately, we may wind up giving her everything.

Things That Are Just Annoying

13 - 0? First, I am excited that yesterday, Team USA won their opening game against Thailand in the FIFA Women's World Cup. 13 - 0? I know that the FIFA tournament rules seem to encourage running up scores when possible in the early round because Goal Differential is an important tie-breaker statistic. 13 - 0? Or is that a Thai-breaker statistic? 13 - 0? I am afraid that this will paint the Americans as the Big Red, White, and Blue Meanies for the Tournament. 13 - 0?- 1,909 replies

The 19th Century political cartoons weren't all grossly exaggerated. William M "Boss" Tweed of New York's infamous Tammany Hall political machine tried to flee the country using a false name. He was stopped by a customs agent in Spain who recognized Tweed from a Thomas Nast cartoon.

Didn't Grace already attempt the "Fat Cat" transformation, only to give it up when it failed to make her rich?

What Are You Ingesting?

Why do humans ruin purrfectly good milk with that leafy brown water that is too hot and bitter? -
Liz? That guy trying to mind-control you may not be a Vampire. He may just be trying to get your money to buy a Sandwich.

Some religions, philosophies, or moralities would contend that the desire to do something evil is itself a sin just as great as actually performing the evil act. Ashley reminds me of the adolescent confessing to having "Impure Thoughts" for the first time.

Kevin appears to be a self-aware and thinking being. Even if that is not what his maker, Arthur, intended. If Kevin gives informed consent to participate in experiments or modifications with Tedd, that is a part of the training and development for both Ashley and Tedd. If Tedd attempts to modify Kevin without Kevin's permission, or in defiance of orders from Arthur, that would be assault. Or worse. On a tangent. Tedd knows that any transformation he could arrange on a human would be temporary or reversible. Can we or Tedd be certain that changes Tedd made to another wizard's wand could be undone? Could another wizard's attempt to enchant a previously enchanted wand result in irreparable damage to that wand? That sounds like a potentially very dark path. Unless the narrative explicitly states otherwise, I am going to presume that any use or alteration of Kevin by Ashley, Tedd, or anyone else has been authorized by both Kevin and Arthur.

Is Ashley going to be Miss Mousie? Does that mean Elliot will become a frog to go a courtin'?

When my dad went to Scotland, someone sold him a fancy list supposedly documenting his ancestors back to the Middle Ages. He showed me this list when I was eight, and I thought it was a priceless link to my royal heritage. In High School, when I read The Scottish Play by Bacon, I noticed that many of the characters in the tragedy had the same names as my ancestors. It didn't occur to me until much later that someone sold my dad a fancy list they filled in with names from Scottish history and a theatre programe. Justin is not the only one who failed to recognize something that was obvious to everyone else for years.

Annoying? Despite popular demand, the Pharaoh's internet connection has been restored I shall once again be inflicting myself upon the honest, decent, and innocent people of the EGS community- 1,909 replies

Elliot fails at deception? Jedi Justin is letting Elliot down. Elliot's Jedi abilities are mostly developing well. We know that he is seeking additional assistance from Sensei Greg to work on magic and flight based combat. But Elliot could not lie his way out of a damp paper bag. And even an honorable warrior must know how to deceive and confuse at times. If Elliot can not convincingly lie in the line of duty, he will never become the henchman Susan needs to support her nefarious plans.

The belle really is the beste toole fore ye olde towne crier. Unless, of course, she can surround herself with a Mariachi band that features Bagpipes.

Elliot would not want Ashley to chose between him and Liz. Unfortunately, that is EXACTLY the position in which Ashley now finds herself.
