Comic for Monday, Sep 13, 2021
Pharaoh RutinTutin replied to Amiable Dorsai's topic in Comic Discussion
Been just a little while since I was in high school so I want to be sure Does every high school have educators and/or administrators who will regularly pick out a student involved in some minor infraction and very publicly make an example of them as a way to ensure all the students are aware of the rules? I agree wholeheartedly Of course, I am one of those people who will always park in Section 2-B (even if other spaces are closer) just to help me find my car- 14 replies

https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/canonsfired-00005 Be careful Grace Don't get people into the habit of choosing for themselves what parts of a fictional reality to believe and which to discard Too many people already play that kind of pick-and-choose game with actual reality

Story: Friday, September 10 2021
Pharaoh RutinTutin replied to ProfessorTomoe's topic in Comic Discussion
When I first saw the "Luke was right" line, I thought this was related to the recent NP story. No, this is a much more important issue. I am now wondering if Grace is considering some kind of public magical stunt just so that everyone would know the truth about her. Absolutely no chance of unexpected disaster with this. Nope. Not at all. -
Heroic indeed, Explorer Most cats just look at me disapprovingly. No heroics needed

Story Comic for Wednesday, Sep 8, 2021
Pharaoh RutinTutin replied to mlooney's topic in Comic Discussion
My sitcom hijinks detector has given me so many false readings in this story that I had to shut it off Also, I never bothered with the Sub-Par settings because I have yet to see a sitcom that is consistently above par What gets me is the last panel. Catalina will eventually realize that Susan does know (or at least suspect) that she has cat magic and was trying ask about it while remaining elusive. But will this be sometime soon or after something else brings magic to the forefront? -
https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/canonsfired-00004 So how can we both be right when we both know that the other one is wrong? Just wait a few googolplex years to watch how the Universe wraps back around on itself as it dies and is reborn an uncountable number of times and then you might gain an intuitive understanding of how a multiverse can produce a multitude of possibilities that are similar without being identical.

Story Monday September 06, 2021
Pharaoh RutinTutin replied to Pharaoh RutinTutin's topic in Comic Discussion
Perhaps not even an aspect of the change. What if one of the contributing factors of the witch hunts of previous centuries was magic diverting the appearance of magic from those who really were magical to those who did not have power? Magic, in EGS, tends to make those who have it seem more attractive, stronger, more powerful, more confident. Victims of witch hunts were often strangers, the poor, those without legal or social power. -
https://www.egscomics.com/comic/balance-060 Catalina thinks Susan would have Ice Magic? What a surprise Time to summon a hammer

If you go to a theatre to see a play, the cast is performing for the audience But if go to a studio to see the production of a television show, or to a stadium to see a televised sporting event, the producers often expect the audience to act like living set pieces

Didn't one of the D&D editions allow a Cleric to get lower level spells as a priest of himself? I'm guessing that if such a cleric survived, succeeded, and attracted a congregation, he would have proved his divinity to whatever Pantheon inhabited the game world.

Explorer, are you telling us that view is for the birds?

https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/canonsfired-00003 I suspect that Grace does not know (or care) who is "correct" So she just says they're both right and then gets on with more important matters, like dubbing the Squirrel translation for The Star Wars Holiday Special

https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/canonsfired-00002 Everyone needs to know someone who can be the authority on every little subject But life is never easy for that authority figure I remember one day I was rather busy and a friend just calls me out of the blue to ask "Who is the Patron Saint of Hopeless Causes?" Was I really the only possible source of info he would have on St Jude?

Paralympic Games - Goalball First, this may be the most accurately named of all games. You have a ball that you roll or throw into a goal. Second, someone just walked by me and asked "Are these people blind?" Yes they are. - - - - - What really strikes me is that this seems like a game that might be played in a 7th grade gym class by giving all the kids blindfolds

If Three's Company ever is brought back to television, they need to hire Dan as a writer No one else today is any better at stretching out a story based on awkward secrets -
NP Comic for Tuesday, Aug 31, 2021
Pharaoh RutinTutin replied to mlooney's topic in EGS: NP Discussion
Do the Curious George books written after Hans and Margret Rey count? What about the Holmes books not written by Doyle? How many books has Louis L'Amour written after he died? Will EGS end just because Dan can no longer think of excuses to keep these twenty-something teenagers in high school? And what of creative contributions, other than authorship, transcending the original artist? Did Bugs Bunny go silent along with Mel Blanc? Perhaps some stories are too big to be told by a single narrator -

Susan has reached an impasse in her investigation by Thinking Too Much If you don't think enough about what you may say or do, the results will be bad. If you think too much about what you may say or do, the results will be bad. -
https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/teddgameopinions-047 So Tedd is calling an end to this series of comics And it appears that Jay's goal in all of this is to have the Parable story canonized as Good. - - - - - Big question Will the next NP story have any thing to do with Video Games?

NP Comic for Thursday, Aug 26, 2021
Pharaoh RutinTutin replied to mlooney's topic in EGS: NP Discussion
Jay is certain that there is something amazing going on in the Verres house And she is correct, but perhaps not as amazing as she might imagine... I fear that if or when she does discover the secrets of Grace, Tedd, and Tedd's long lost brother Racer X, Jay will be disappointed by just how mundane this magical family can be. -
