  1. Story, Friday November 24, 2017

Not new, it was known in the first Sister arc. BTW, no one's commented on how Magus reacts to realizing that Ashley wasn't in the know about Ellen's origins, and how he attempts to convince Ashley to not let this info affect her relationship with Elliot. Certainly not something a bad guy would do, right?
  2. Story, Friday November 24, 2017

I think Magus already knew that Tedd was the AU equivalent of Terra at that point, I'm not sure if he would have know if Nanase was Tedd's cousin though, since Elliot didn't know until after Nanase broke up with him. I think the idea that he overheard Nanase mentioning France to Elliot, and even Dan said in the commentary that Magus wanted to be able to get back to Moperville easily, and apparently it will be clarified in the next Q&A... (Also he totally misspelled wanted as wasted.) Anyway, as Hack pointed out, Voltaire was recently shown to have been tormenting Magus early on as well, if Voltaire was also trying to get at Tedd, maybe he somehow mislead Helena and Demetrius into thinking that Magus was bad news, made it so that they wouldn't trust anything Magus said, I mean, that's what he did with Tara so could he also trick fellow Immortals? Another possibility for Helena and Demetrius going after Magus like that would go back to my theory about them being the "friends" that Edward said he would ask for assistance in investigating Pandora's appearance in the forest, and maybe her warning about the egg and hawk made Helena and Demetrius assume the worst in Magus if it was revealed to them that he was what Pandora was referring too.
  3. Story, Friday November 24, 2017

Actually, Elliot knew Nanase from ASMA before the France trip, because Elliot rescued Justin during Freshman year, and Justin revealed that Elliot introduced him to Nanase shortly after that fight, Justin also has a flashback showing the introduction, he's seen still wearing the bandaid Elliot gave him. The France trip was the summer after Freshman year, so yeah Elliot knew Nanase already,
  4. Story, Friday November 24, 2017

Susan wouldn't really have been part of the equation at that point, in terms of being connected to Elliot that is, Elliot was dating Nanase so Magus probably overheard her at some point mention the trip and thought it'd be a good way to lose Helena and Demetrius. Well Helena, Demetrius and Magus were all introduced introduced at roughly the same time, well Magus was 4 months after Helena and Demetrius, but I'm pretty sure Dan already had Magus planned when he started the lead up to Grace's birthday. Helena and Demetrius had stated they couldn't remember why they were in France, they felt it didn't make sense they would have followed Nanase or Susan, so having it revealed that they actually followed Magus wouldn't likely be a retcon.
  5. http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=2425 So confirmed, Magus and Terra were training. Dialogue had to be for dramatic effect. Also, panel 5 looks to me like Magus was jerked around by another jerk we know.

Except for Dan's commentary: So either Catalina awakened and learned to transform herself and others into various animal forms, or Rhoda can transform herself and others into various animal forms.
  7. Story: Wed Nov 22 2017

I would at least put her in the same class as Sarah, who figured out that Mr Raven was Box's son.
  8. Story: Wed Nov 22 2017

Let's not assume that in a universe with magic, magic isn't part of every human. We've never seen Sirleck use anything like a spell yet, so it seems reasonable to assume he's never had a host with usable magic Such assumption would be provably false as Tedd specifically said normal person has next to none spell resistance. Ellen having higher resistance might be more plausible rather than the idea of having memories from multiple people, sure the memories might be confusing, especially in the case of Second Life Ellen, but they're still just memories.
  9. Story: Wed Nov 22 2017

she just has the memories of that Ellen, she herself had never been or came from there, she wouldn't have multiple consciousnesses from it.
  10. Story: Wed Nov 22 2017

She's a magical duplicate of Elliot?
  11. Story: Wed Nov 22 2017

Yeah, but then again, he is quite aware of her being past her reset time and having difficulty keeping her composure, and having seen her appear on TV shortly after the attack on Ellen, and the fact that she's responsible for the energy clog and marking numerous people and bringing Magic soo close to changing for everyone. Maybe we'll find Tedd trying to convince Ellen that Pandora just made some mistakes herself, though I don't think he'd say they were the best mistakes, that might not fly a second time.
  12. Story: Wed Nov 22 2017

It definitely seems like "My existence is due to some bored Immortal jerking around Elliot's alternate?" kind of revelation. But hey, at least Tedd's completely off the hook now....right? Though I'm not sure Tedd would feel right with having "those were the best mistakes I ever made" changed to "I was manipulated by my Grand Godmother into creating Ellen"
  13. Story: Wed Nov 22 2017

We're talking about someone who formulated and executed a way to get Tara to stop chasing Elliot. And also suggested to Nanase that Elliot's Cheerleadra form might count as a separate person when creating a Fair Doll. She's not dumb, and it's not like she is figuring this out herself, Magus is telling her about Ellen's origins, so my previous statement is more of a hindsight "So that's why the griffin thought she was oddly different" thing. Diane wouldn't have enough information to make that deduction though, all she has is Tara's statement, and Ellen's "no offense meant to Elliot..." statement, if she were to learn about the Dewitchery Diamond though, I wouldn't doubt that things would click into place for her. Assuming they work by messing with brain chemistry, they more or less have to. Even Magus said it was a known side effect of the spell, my guess is the calmness inhibits the ability to filter what a person wants to say, Ashley might still have thought about that comment normally but would have held it back because it's a rude and horrible thing to say, but since the dislike of that phrase is emotional there isn't anything holding her back from saying it.
  14. Story: Wed Nov 22 2017

Ashley probably was introduced to Tedd in the past week or so and she would likely have been introduce to Sarah (she already knew who Susan was). Now she knows about the TFG and the diamond and Tara's comment about knowing Ellen was "Elliot's twin in spite of having an oddly... different sort of magic potential." probably makes a lot more sense. That means he must have manipulated Grace since she was the one that did the searching and found out about the diamond.
  15. Story, Friday November 17, 2017

I don't think the old man was an attorney, maybe in an accounting firm or bank though, he's wealthy enough to have a butler, but he also has access to other people's money since Sirleck was using him to embezzle.
  16. Story, Monday November 20, 2017

Yeah, it might be possible that it was Voltaire posing at child!Pandora 2 years earlier and maybe "guided" Magus to the real Pandora. I doubt Dan originally planned it that way, but yeah considering the twist of Voltaire being responsible for manipulating Dex and his impersonation of Abner, there is room for retconning the original appearance of Pandora.
  17. NP Monday November 20, 2017

I would not be surprised if, after continually protesting and criticizing forms and effect, Susan ends up winning the game.
  18. Story, Monday November 20, 2017

I get the feeling that if Dan ever finally said "Yes, Tedd, Grace and Sarah are in a poly relationship" the reaction would very much be the same. People would be sad(or infuriated, this is the internet after all) they were wrong, others would be sad that the speculation is now over and the novelty is gone. On another topic though: I was thinking about that, plus Magus' tone when describing himself and Terra as alternates of Elliot and Tedd, and one thing comes to mind, maybe Magus considers himself to be the prime being and Elliot to be his alternate and he's annoyed about being viewed as the alternate in the main universe. Or maybe the idea of alternate realities isn't an accepted theory in his world and winding up in this one was a complete shock to him, he's had nearly 3 years to adjust to it but it might still be a surreal experience. Especially if Terra wasn't genderfluid, seeing Tedd switching back and forth might be unsettling because his female form would remind Magus of Terra. Something else troubles me though in terms of the timeline of events, and that's the time between Magus entering the main world, and Pandora finding him. Magus here states that he was jerked around buy numerous Immortals, but Hidden Genesis has us think that Pandora was right there first. Maybe she was responsible for bringing Magus to this world, or maybe she did just "catch him" after someone else in Magus' world sent him off, and in the nearly 2 years before the start of the comic, Magus had wandered the spirit plane being jerked around until Pandora returned to offer assistance.
  19. Story, Friday November 17, 2017

I don't see how he could have been possessing him before that point, the old man was dying there, the fifth panel has him in a coughing fit, and in the sixth, his eyes are closed, he's got drool coming out of his mouth, and it looks like he dropped the pouch he was holding, plus there's the who "No old man, you don't get to die today" statement which I keep saying is Sirleck having just possessed him before the old man became unpossessable, the brain had died but the body hadn't gone into rigormortis yet. The next time we saw Sirleck in Dark Allegiance, the old man certainly seems in better condition due to being under Sirleck's possession.
  20. Story, Friday November 17, 2017

That definition does not allow for the introduction of Sirleck taking the old man as a host to occur months before Magus swears to end Pandora. So everything we saw in "T-Minus, A Demon Ally" happened on the same day. As for how Magus was able to find Sirleck a day later? Maybe he's not limited to just amplifying emotions on the spirit plane and could track Sirleck somehow.
  21. Story, Monday November 20, 2017

Magus doesn't seem very much like a hawk to the human mice, does he, particularly to the human mouse in the back seat now. I still think Sirleck is the hawk even if Pandora didn't predict it back when she gave the warning, I'm pretty certain she didn't predict any of this back then.
  22. Story, Friday November 17, 2017

Of course Dan likely didn't have the plot about Magus and Sirleck thought out at the time of the first Sister arc, or at the very leave didn't have Sirleck thought of, but he still didn't didn't shoehorn the idea that Sirleck always had the old man as a host at that point. The "meanwhile" was saying that Sirleck took the old man for a host at the same time that Magus was swearing to end Pandora.
  23. Story, Friday November 17, 2017

He kept to the one we saw him with because he was focusing on getting Helena and Demetrius distracted. Back in T-minus, The demon Ally, we have the page where Magus is recovering from Pandora's tantrum stating that it was Wednesday, March 20....A week after Abraham attempted to kill Ellen, the next page shows Sirleck taking the dying old man for a host with the statement of "Meanwhile, an office in Chicago". If Sirleck had the old man as a host when he bribed the guard back on January 30th, why didn't Dan say so? The "meanwhile" wouldn't make any sense in that case. Also, it might not have been that easy to find a host, Sirleck might have had the host he used to bribe the guard for the whole 2 months from that point before he found the old man, or had to wait for the right moment to jump.
  24. Story, Friday November 17, 2017

He could have easily been in possession of another host who had access to money, the old man we saw him take wouldn't have been the first one.
  25. Story, Friday November 17, 2017

Bribing the security guard happened before Sirleck too the old man for a host. The first Sister arc happened in January, and Sirleck took the old man as host in March a week after Sister 2
