  1. http://www.egscomics.com/egsnp.php?id=595 Susan and Charlotte certainly look human to me, so Grace must be the android after all. Sounds like the plot for the game Nier: Automata, where Earth has been overrun by alien machines and humans had fled to the moon and are trying to fight back using android warriors. Will know for sure when we see Grace if she has a little robot companion and a big arse sword or something.
  2. Things You Find Amusing

Yeah, I read a fair number of webcomics and several have patreon pages, but the reason I only support Dan is not just because of budgeting, it's also because I'm active in this community as well.
  3. What Are You Ingesting?

Yeah, one of the reasons why Canada doesn't make pennies anymore. Though things still cost like pennies still exist which is either good or bad depending on what you buy, because it'll round to the nearest nickel, so something that's $4.97 will get you 5 cents back if you pay $5, but it it was $4.98 then you gotta pay $5.
  4. In Heavy Gear, characters have a skill level which indicates the character's experience using the skill, and then there's complexity level which indicates the level of knowledge a character has for a particular skill, so in terms of Disguise; complexity 1 would equal putting on a pair of sunglasses and a hat. Complexity 2 would add in cutting your hair/shaving/putting on basic makeup, 3 would be wigs, padding in clothes, 4 would be "Mrs Doubtfire" level Hollywood makeup. And if you want "Face Off" level disguises, you'd need complexity 5 in disguise PLUS I think it was at least complexity 3 in Medicine because cosmetic surgery.
  5. Edward might also have something to do with it too.
  6. Remember, Uryuoms can pass as humans in EGS just by wearing a shirt that says they're human.
  7. Some dreams are more vivid than others. The fact that Tedd changed throughout that dream might have thrown Elliot off as well.
  8. Yeah, I was just using an example of a time when Susan did seem happy with the blonde hair (even if it was brief). But I also agree to the possibility of a Heidi like personality shift due to the change, but that shift would have to have started earlier to make her even accept getting into a swimsuit and sitting on a counter in the video store.
  9. Well we have a baseline dream+reaction to go by.
  10. Well, if you still consider Heidi to be Elliot ... We do have canon evidence of the last time Susan was (mostly) Blonde. So we could boil this down to Susan having let go of the feelings associated with being blonde, or there's some sort of mind altering effect going on, but considering Susan apparently accepted being a Rental Guard to begin with, it's tough to say.
  11. Actually, coffee only brings performance back up to where it would have been originally. Coffee drinkers in the original trials would be told to stay off caffeine for a day or two before getting the baseline no-coffee performance level, so they were in the throes of caffeine withdrawl when they did the no-coffee tests, which dropped their scores. Their scores once they were allowed their caffeine fix were naturally better. Non-coffee-drinkers never had that drop in the first set of scores. Once someone figured out to control for whether a subject was already addicted to caffeine or not, they found that the with-coffee scores of the coffee-drinkers were no better than the baseline scores of the non-coffee-drinkers. Rather than giving themselves a boost with their morning coffee, coffee-drinkers were impairing their performance without coffee, and then crediting the coffee for an improvement that was really just taking away that impairment. I still say that the whole "coffee stunts your growth" claim is a crock, I've been drinking coffee since I was 13 and I'm 6'4.5" tall. You cannot expect me to believe that I'd be over 7' tall if I didn't drink coffee.

I think EGS took the turn for the weird with the phrase "Oh, and in case you can't tell, Tedd's a guy." How can you take turn for the weird if weird was the direction you headed since the start? Unless it's 360° turn. Dan addressed it in the last Q&A too.

I'm half expecting the being before Pandora to turn out to be Noah Wyle or John Larroquette. Though I totally wouldn't be surprised if it was another Immortal and this form is something they like to use to greet visitors. This does go back to the theory that some Immortals vowed to maintain all knowledge in some form or another.

    I dunno, let's ask mlooney.
  15. I like Susan's hair here better as well, but I'd rather just have the +1 bust increase of the Rental Guard version rather than what looks like a +3 bust increase here.

Do we really know that the Great Library was destroyed and not actually moved or even hidden by elaborate illusions? Remember Jerry hid the cave containing the hammer artifact from the common person. A number of Immortals, or maybe someone or something more powerful, could have hid the Great Library and made it look like it had been destroyed?

The Horseshoe Falls are Canadian and are the more well known ones, though I'll admit after having taken the Hornblower boat ride (formerly the Maid of the Mist), seeing the American Falls up close was quite impressive too.

::After observing the bizarre portals and other random stuff happen:: I need my equipment if I'm going to make any attempts to fix all this, be right... ::A portal opens next to him and an aged version of himself steps through:: I can tell you now, that won't work. Scotty1: Great, are you here to help, did you figure out how to repair this mess? Scotty2: Kinda, maybe, not really... Just here to tell you that what you plan on doing won't work. Scotty1: Well you're here so something must have worked. Scotty2: I'm here because you weren't here when what you did didn't work. Scotty1: Wait, what? Scotty2: You were just about to go to your lab and try to force the portals closed right? Scotty1: That was an idea, yes...you mean? Scotty2: BOOM! Scotty1: Oh...well...huh... and you're saying that you...or we, never figured out what went wrong? Scotty2: Well I did run other scenarios, and all seemed to have the same results, so yeah. Scotty1: So there's nothing we can do? Scotty2: Well that's something. Scotty1: What? Scotty2: Just what you said, do nothing. Scotty1: So....ride it out like you would a storm? Scotty2: Exactly, this phenomenon should pass eventually, as any attempts to force it have ended catastrophically, the only solution left would be to let it end naturally. Scotty1: And this should work? Scotty2: Maybe, I dunno, there wasn't enough data on this to properly simulate so my guess is as good as yours, but still worth trying, considering the alternatives. Scotty1: Sounds logical, what the worst that can happen? Scotty2: Spending the next thirty years obsessing over what went wrong? Scotty1:...Right... Scotty2: Anyway, gotta go, if you don't hear from me again, this either worked, or you died. No pressure. Scotty1: ....Riiiiight.... ::Future Scotty re-enters the portal and it disappears:: ::Present Scotty pulls up a chair and sits, looking around:: Anyone got a beer....or 24?

It's because of the differences in budget that we get such glaring differences in stuff like set design and make up, ST: The Motion Picture gets around it by giving us the Enterprise 1701 Refit. It was pretty strange when the Enterprise series came out and we saw the NX-01 looking more advanced that the TOS 1701 despite being 100 years before TOS and we're likely going to see a similar difference when the new Trek series comes out that's set about 10 years before TOS.
  20. You didn't like the Cowbell Christmas pinup? Personally I like that one better because Ellen and Nanase are more reasonably proportioned.

If I remember correctly, didn't the Klingons find out about the Eugenics stuff Humans did and then attempt to use it for themselves? And then kidnapped Phlox to make him fix the problems their attempt caused? Though personally, I thought it was one of situations where the writers felt they needed to explain why Klingons looked the way they did in TOS, because the Trials and Tribbleations episode of DS9 had the cast react to them and Worf refusing to go into details and being embarrassed about it.

Also, with the asking for Tedd to make it into a clone form, Elliot is implying "hey, I want to share this fun form with you too". While there's no harm in Elliot doing that, I would think that what Elliot told Tedd the day before was enough for Tedd to know that Elliot no longer thinks that way.

In the Heavy Gear game I was in, there was a planet called Caprice which was a lot like Mars in terms of it's environment though closer to Earth size, I think gravity on the surface was .9 or something close to ours. Anyway there was a habitable zone on the planet called the Cat's Eye Trench which was deep enough that it was easy to keep climate controlled and have a breathable atmosphere compared to the rest of the planet. Terraforming consisted of focused bombardment of various sites with meteorites gathered from the asteroid belt in the system. The meteors sent in were a mix of rock and ice and it was a slow process because they didn't want to do to much too fast and overshoot their goal. At the time we played, the atmosphere had become such that forms of lichen were able to survive and grow in caves just below the surface and they figured about 200 years of focused bombardments would raise the surface temperature, carbon dioxide and atmospheric density enough for more complex plant life to take hold and start producing oxygen.
  24. Well, in theory pin-ups are not canon, so this doesn't really say one way or another. There was the Catgirl Rhoda pinup where Dan's described it as being possibly a spoiler that Catalina could transform others. As for this pinup, I particularly like how Kitty's clothes ended up, could be a nice cozy cat bed for her.
