Or facepalming hard. Or she's more interested in seeing the results of the so-called rookie mistake Rhoda made.
  2. Story Friday November 18, 2016

I wasn't saying that those examples were any better, just that google searching "children's movies 1985" brought up that list. Heck I what I vaguely remember of "Return to Oz" was a fair amount of nightmare fuel, I think Dorothy had been institutionalized after her first trip.
  3. The Weather.

It's 18C here, went to work with a coat and sweater, took the coat off pretty much as soon as I got there, then took the sweater off about an hour later. Tomorrow it's going to drop to 2C with the threat of snow, Sunday's expected to have snow as well.
  4. Story Friday November 18, 2016

Well, then there's basically nothing that would fit the requirements. When I was 6, new "children's movies" at the time included "The Goonies", "Back to the Future", "Pee-wee's Big Adventure", "Black Cauldron", "Return to Oz".
  5. Story Friday November 18, 2016

Cars, or Toy Story would probably be enough for 6 year olds.
  6. NP Wednesday November 16, 2016

I'm thinking resistance works both ways though, there's resistance which prevents an enchantment from taking hold or if it does, then it's reduces the duration of it, and then there's resistance which prevents cancellation of a placed enchantment. For the latter, cancellations could either by from someone attempting to dispel an enchantment from another and the other resisting the dispel, or the same can be used to prolong an enchantment. and I imagine if someone is good enough, multiple enchantments could be maintained simultaneously that way. There's plenty of ambient energy around for Rhoda to do this. Pandora may not be expecting that Rhoda is capable of doing so, which means she's likely in for another surprise, because that's pretty much been the theme of all this, it's not so much hijinks in that Rhoda and Catalina cause a ruckus in the mall, and maybe just a little with how Catalina made a big deal out of needing to keep people from seeing her transformed, but mostly Pandora being utterly caught off guard with Rhoda's magic.
  7. Story Wednesday Nov 16, 2016

That still doesn't negate the fact that she did consider keeping a younger form available, she may still keep the 18 year old form, not exactly sure what mad her update the form though unless it was because she liked her hairstyle better than the what she had at the birthday party, or maybe she grew a bit in certain places, it's no secret (at least to us) that she is a bit insecure about her appearance.
  8. NP Wednesday November 16, 2016

What we were shown was that an enchantment duration can be shortened if undesirable, and also lengthened if desirable, so as long as Rhoda desired to stay enchanted, that could include Catalina's enchantment while she's in Rhoda's jacket. Considering Rhoda is confirmed awakened (and apparently S-ranked), and Catalina was just marked a short time ago (rank unknown but still a noob), Rhoda's got the stronger power.
  9. NP Wednesday November 16, 2016

I meant that as long as Rhoda is able to maintain her form, it should help Catalina keep hers.
  10. Story Wednesday Nov 16, 2016

Not sure how thats relevant to what I said, unless you're nitpicking the "girl" part as me thinking Nioi was young, I can't say for sure how old Nioi is, I don't think she'd be much older, maybe the 19-25 range. As for the people under 20 part, we do have Sarah who liked the idea of keeping a clone form for the purposes of looking younger again later.
  11. NP Wednesday November 16, 2016

I think you are correct, because putting the cookie in her mouth made Rhoda start growing (note there only seems to be one bite out of the cookie and she's still chewing). I think putting shrunken Catalina in the jacket of enlarged Rhoda is gonna be all sorts of hijinks-inducing. I actually think it's closer to the second one: Although I don't think it's exactly that, but more like Pandora expects the duration of Catalina's shrink enchant to end before Rhoda gets her out of the pocket. What I'm thinking will happen though is similar to: So Rhoda's resistance may help maintain Catalina's shrunken form until they get somewhere that Catalina can attempt to return to normal. Still this is something that Pandora should know about shouldn't it? Or is what Tedd's been learning about resistances and durations brand new for even Immortals?
  12. Story Wednesday Nov 16, 2016

The spell to enchant someone with dreams or memories from someone else doesn't have to require a nose beep, Nioi likely nosebeeped Ellen because that's just the way Nioi is, it could be enough just to touch someone on the shoulder, or for an Immortals to just face their palm at the person just like with marking. Yeah, Dan did admit that he probably brought in the Lord Tedd stuff too early and likely didn't have it fleshed out as well as he wanted. I'm not entirely sure that Voltaire would be involved directly with Lord Tedd, but I do think Voltaire might be aware of Lord Tedd and wants to duplicate it here. Or he's not aware of Lord Tedd and just wanted Tedd to become emotionally unstable for his own purposes. I don't think Nioi has made any other contact since the nose beep, she mainly came to find a way to deal with General Shade Tail, hoping to contact Dr Scuiridae, I think finding out that Shade Tail was part Lespuko was the information she needed though as she didn't seem to want to follow up anything with Dr Scuiridae after Damien had been defeated.
  13. Story Wednesday Nov 16, 2016

This is the one, and if does foreshadow Lord Tedd quite a bit, It makes me wonder if Dan was trying to imply that memories from other realities can sometimes cross dimensions to become dreams or nightmares. There isn't too much to go on with that theory, although, Ellen's "dreams" were magically inserted. It wouldn't be too difficult to insert memories from Lord Tedd's life into Tedd during his dreams and if a skunk girl can do it, an Immortal should have no problems.
  14. NP Wednesday November 16, 2016

Ok, so Pandora is expecting something to go wrong with this plan, I'm not sure why kind of mistake she's talking about, but something tells me it's not going to happen. This is just based on the fact that everything else that Pandora's expected has turned out wrong...well aside from no one noticing that Catalina had transformed a bit.
  15. Story Wednesday Nov 16, 2016

Hmm..That sounds like Voltaire was trying to make it so that he could approach Tedd with promises that he could help in some way. If Voltaire had succeeded in getting Tara to kill Elliot, Voltaire could have guided Tedd's path of revenge. Although, guiding Tedd on the path of making magic public might be difficult seeing as Voltaire had already admitted in front of Tedd how hard it is to find someone to do his bidding, so I don't think Tedd would trust him, still...if Tedd is distraught enough... I dunno, considering Voltaire knows what Tedd is, he might have some other reason for making Tedd emotionally unstable.
  16. Story Wednesday Nov 16, 2016

Susan can use the hammers on anyone now, it's really a matter of getting a chance to use it on Voltaire.
  17. Story Wednesday Nov 16, 2016

Here's the thing, Pandora was just at Sarah's probably a half hour earlier, if she's still hanging around as well, she doesn't seem to be noticing Voltaire there, of course she did say that Immortals can hide themselves from other Immortals very well once they learn to do it so it makes sense that neither of them would notice the other. Still it is very frustrating that Pandora was soo close to Voltaire. Yeah, that was my thinking as well, although considering that Nioi said that General Shade Tail is corrupting Lord Tedd, I'd believe it was General Shade Tail that was responsible for Elliot's death in that universe and not an Immortal like Voltaire.
  18. EGS Strip Slaying

Which, as I understand the scale would actually be a 3, not a 2. Could be wrong. Yeah, 3 is bi, 2 still prefers opposite sex, but same sex doesn't look too bad either. In regards to Elliot, that's more gender identity than sexual preference. Elliot still prefers females even if in a female form, unless using a mind altering form like the mild mannered secret ID, but even then once Elliot noticed, he quickly changed to male. Elliot's behavior with Sarah during Grace's birthday is different too in that the forms were designed to strengthen attraction towards the opposite sex, meaning f!Elliot would be attracted to m!Sarah because the form made it that way, but also Elliot probably had it in mind that Sarah was still Sarah and their current forms shouldn't change how they feel about each other. I'm not sure if the same would apply with Ashley if the subject came up, but in terms of his sexual preference, he's either hetero when male, or lesbian when in his own female forms, and hasn't shown any natural attraction towards males.
  19. Story Friday Nov 11, 2016

That's not how Occam's razors work. And basically what I'm saying, is unless it's actually mentioned in the comic that Rhoda had some sort of emotional induced awakening or an Immortal induced one, I chose to believe that she awakened without such influences. Also, one thing to wonder about, would Pandora know by looking, if an awakening was caused by another Immortal?
  20. Story Monday Nov 14 2016

Considering Elliot was able to use them when spending the day at school as "Ellen", I wouldn't call it teaching, more like "Hey, if you ever find yourself being offended by a male, just think 'It's Hammer Time'. "
  21. Story Monday Nov 14 2016

Yeah, so for the first 20 years or so, it probably got a fair amount of use, then the novelty either wore off or those that were using it realized that it wasn't doing much good, still like I said, there was enough that someone remembered it happening and used the concept in cartoons, which no one would guess that it was magic that way. The other possibility is Jerry never advertised the hammer ability, so it was likely that use was purely accidental and rarely did anyone use it multiple times so the ability itself never became commonplace though the pop culture effect still happened.
  22. Story Friday Nov 11, 2016

We know how Justin awakened, Pandora herself admitted to awakening him. He's got nothing to do with Voltaire other than he happened to be there when Voltaire had Dex summon the first fire golem. Maybe he also wants magic public, he did do that whole speech about how hard it is to find someone to do his bidding and that Immortals have restricted themselves into impotence. Of course he is a lying liar so we don't know for sure if he meant that or if he was just acting so that they'd believe he didn't have something else planned. I would think though that if he was frustrated with being unable to get people to jump through hoops for him, randomly awakening Rhoda just doesn't seem to have enough "sh*ts and giggles" factor that would satisfy him. He'd want to see results much the same way Pandora wanted to see people using their spells in public and causing a commotion, and I would think that if he was going to awaken Rhoda, he'd probably offer it in exchange for Rhoda doing something for him. I think that's the difference between Pandora and Voltaire, Pandora is frustrated by the lack of unpredictability and was trying to find things that could surprise her as was the case when she was guiding Magus initially. Voltaire on the other hand, is frustrated by the lack of freedom to mess with mortals.
  23. Story Friday Nov 11, 2016

All we know for sure is Rhoda has been pretty discreet about her magic, and from the looks of it, "Escape from the Mall" is the first time Rhoda's actually showing Catalina what she can do. She's obviously told Catalina about it before hand but demonstrations would have resulted in there being nudity before Rhoda awakened and learned to grow herself with her clothes, and again, that NP is the first time Catalina's seen her do that. Shrinking someone with their clothes is obviously one she'd never done before though she might have been able to for a while, lack of spellbook would make it harder for her to know when she got a new spell of course. However Rhoda awakened, it was also done pretty discreetly, and considering it wasn't Pandora that did it, and Voltaire doing it doesn't make any sense because he'd be in "find someone to get to kill Elliot" mode and manipulating Rhoda doesn't appear to have been something he did. Adding in new Immortals to awaken people without their knowledge doesn't make any sense either, so it does make sense that Rhoda just woke up one day and noticed that her mark was gone, but she could still use magic so she didn't think about what it meant.
  24. Story Monday Nov 14 2016

As Edward pointed out, using items such as wands will help develop the user's own magic and cause them to awaken, so it currently can't distinguish between the two, one will affect the other. As to the hammer statue, it's possible that it only got a lot of use early on, and just enough that it was taken to mainstream media and used a a running gag in cartoons, actual usage of it probably fizzled out after a while with only rare occurrences such as Susan.
  25. NP Monday Nov 14 2016

Panel 4 of this NP seems appropriate. And it totally looks like Catalina could "dwell within the shirt" from that perspective.
