I was thinking (now that I've looked at the table again) that Ellen could give Cheer something to train her magic resistance against, much like Grace was practicing using her telekinesis as a shield. -

It also strikes me that if base-level Cheer is as strong as Elliot, it mightn't hurt for Elliot to start pumping some iron, just to give her a little more edge when all her spare points are needed elsewhere. -

Or are just learning something that's gone unmentioned until now. "I'm taking your son to go meet dangerously powerful nonhuman emissaries from a place we know little about." Something like that, for example, might explain such a powerful reaction from people who seem otherwise unnaturally laid back. -
Urban (and suburban) areas do seem to be filled with under-exploited ecological niches just begging for evolution to do its thing and fill them.

Invited or not, he should have been expected. Their side obviously has tight controls on crossing from one side to the other, why not our side, whether some naive teenagers were aware of them or not. -

Getting a better look at Ambassador Verres at work has been a treat. His willingness to face personal danger in furtherance of his mission has made Elliot into a total fanboy, but grossed out Grace. The differing reactions of the Griffins is enlightening. It's too bad Lord Tyrant Slayer wasn't there. I hope we get to see his reaction when Tara and Andrea report back. He already knows Ed is brave, will this show of ruthlessness raise or lower his opinion of Ed? And I wonder when we'll find out what LTS was really up to? -
It's always a bit of a shock when we're reminded of just how deadly serious this is to Edward.

My reading is that Mopervile was an unusually magical place before the clog. How much so is unspecified. The clog backed up Magic to 20X that already high level. The clearance will leave Moperville 2X what is was before. So, does that leave the flow at half its pre-clog level? Will that satisfy the inhabitants of Griffinstan? Or will they try to do something about it? Will we see a true World War?

This does feel like a bit of a cheat, especially since I was looking forward to seeing Pandora soon.

So what is Dan setting up here? George querying Nanase about magic? Because she is Ellen's girlfriend, or because he suspects Nanase of also having magical abilities? -
Particularly if he casts this spell a lot. Which he may, what a useful spell for someone in Ed's line of work.

Dwight's in a bad position. He left his post, apparently with what he sees as good reason, but probably without permission, perhaps against orders. We don't know how much his boss values initiative over blind obedience, but taking the initiative always looks better if it all turns out well. That, for Dwight, that seems to mean Liam and Virginia back to their side of the world, him back at his post, and reporting a serious crime that needs investigating, pronto. "Pronto" does not seem to be Liam's priority at all.

I watched Mr. Wizard. Don Herbert is one of the people who inspired me to choose science as a career. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that Bill Nye watched him, too. -
This sparks a thought: Is Magic the same entity on both sides of the world? Is it, perhaps, in hope of making sense of the persons it is handing power to, running an experiment? Operating openly on one side, and in secret on the other to find out what works better, for whatever its definition of "better" might be?
