We have a good chance (over 50%) of rain starting about 4:00 PM and continuing for the next 26 hours. It's already muggy and sticky. Not looking forward to this afternoon.

I just got an Amber Alert on my phone. For someone in Rose Hill. Rose Hill is 2 and a half hours away by car. Someone needs to work on the algorithm that decides who gets an Amber Alert.

Why does that sound incredibly narcisistic? There might have been a better way of saying that, but I'm at a loss as to what. "Ashley includes a self insert into her shipping fics about Elliot, Susan and Grace, yet doesn't want any one to know this" doesn't really have the same punch.

Well that sucks. I hope they find a med that works for making you "piss away" your weigh gains. One of the few times where you can say "Your just pissing away X" where it's a good thing. -

Assuming that the other side of the coin's surface area is the same as our side of the coin, there is no reason to assume that they only have one nation and that their laws and tech level are the same from nation to nation. For that matter there is no reason to assume that one species is in charge from nation to nation. It's possible that Will and Gill are from a nation ruled by Uryuoms and that higher tech level than some other nations, for example one ruled by mages or griffins.

I have a head ache. I'm going to take some meds and lay down. It's late enough in the day that I don't feel bad about laying down.

They are finally mowing my yard. Explorer is not happy, but is staying on the bed, not getting under it. Could be that the muffler on the riding mower that they are using is better than the push mower that they used next door.

Most "modern" armies tend to be either all volunteer or mainly volunteer. Those that aren't tend to be countries where everybody gets drafted, it's part of growing up. That hasn't been the case in most of the FSU since the fall of the USSR. Conscription is rather hit or miss in those countries.
