Why would he use the white shirt, although it is possible Elliot might finally have male morph spells now, as it is with the female morphs, if Elliot put on a shirt that hadn't been transformed when he turned she, it won't likely transform when she turns back to he. The blue shirt though would stay feminized though and has been the basis for Ellen asking to borrow morphed outfits, but it seems like more work to do something like that just to change an outfit. He would get white shirt to not be naked of course. The experiment follows what I described and consist of Elliot trying to transform shirt he has on himself but which is already transformed by previous enchantment which Elliot ended on himself. That might be impractical if they would be likely to unshrink due to enchantment expiring. Depends on how long stuff stays shrunk. True, the boar stayed big for day or maybe days ... I though Rhoda tried. I mean, she didn't stopped at the minimal size, she just shrunk Catalina as much as she can. That's because if you define looseness in terms of force on wearer, you can't get under some minimum. I think more likely reason for transformation mishaps is basically that Tedd keeps experimenting until Sarah says "hey, I got enough nudity for today". ... like various sports equipment?
  2. Story Monday November 21, 2016

It's just illusion. Except they didn't see each other for long time apparently. No, they get the wand today. It's just one more fact that's in the "So unlikely that it might not be mere coincidence" class... It might be because Nanase doesn't completely believe Edward and would want to let Susan decide herself. Problems with both theories. First theory, it is almost guaranteed that Susan's mother would know whether or not Susan was her child (barring baby switching hijinks), and the page you linked to for the second theory has Adrian explicitly state that elves cannot have children Yes. On the other hand, it suggest there is something we don't know yet. If everything would be already revealed, Dan would likely mention how he meant it (possibly saying that originally he planned them as twins then changed mind). If there is nothing like that in comments, then maybe there is still some surprise ... Yeah ... which is as relevant to comics with Squirrel-human-uryuom hybrids as Lúthien Tinúviel, who definitely wasn't sterile. Technically, they are from other side of universe, which not only can but HAS different rules ... ... which reminds me this little fire-breathing detail. Maybe elves who are children of immortals can't have children, but elves who are children of ancients CAN. And Pandora is actually ancient from the other side of universe. Although she doesn't look like giving riddles to Blaike ...

True. So magic actually differentiate THREE cases - non-living, living and sapient. Wait. Immortals would be fourth case. The difference between Elliot and Rhoda is Rhoda can target other people and objects to enchant, Elliot's morphs are strictly applied to himsel, so of course Elliot wouldn't be able to affect clothing that's been morphed with him, then taken off. Rhoda has the advantage of resizing anything she points her palms at, and as such should also be able to reverse and enchantment in the same manner. Let's see: Take blue shirt. Transform to girl. Take off blue shirt, take on white. Transform to guy. Take off white shirt, take on blue one. Experiment ready to go. Hmmmm ... true. Also, nitroglycerin (as a medicine for heart problems) and LSD can both be absorbed when put under the tongue. I heard. Good question. Looking back on our discussion about how can the shrinking work physically: if she's really resized, then the limit is likely absolute. If it's done by bending space, then the limit is likely per enchantment, although you can get into problems if boundaries from stacked enchantments get too close.

One more note: Sure, the middle mannequin has same clothes as Ashley the first day ... but we never saw Ashley's knees in that outfit. Pity. It's ok, they are not in school, so she can't be expelled for it. Yeah. It's normal to talk like this. It's less normal to talk ABOUT talking like this. "I'm on speaker" would be ok, as it might be understood as realization she's on speaker as opposed to headphones, but "we are talking over phones" is weird thing to say.
  5. NP Wednesday November 16, 2016

The main difference, as I understand it, is that the Enlarged Rhoda/Reduced Catalina situation involves two living beings who are both enchanted, while the cookie involves an enchanted object spreading the enchantment to a living being. Physical laws work identically on both living and non-living matter. Of course, magical laws may not share this property ... although, based on boar incident, I suspect they work identically on non-living matter and animals, but differently on humans (sapient beings?).

Where work stops, obviously. Any office worker could tell you that. Reminds me: The brain is a wonderful organ; it starts working the moment you get up in the morning and doesn't stop until you get to work. (Apparently, Steven Wright).
  7. NP Monday November 21, 2016

With the prevalence of phones, it's surprising that people still consider weird if voice comes from unusual direction or if someone seems to talk to himself. Regarding Catalina's idea: that's unlikely to help. You would then not be sure if you remember how you came yesterday or today. Regarding mannequin: I can imagine live girl combining short shorts or skirt with fur jacket. In fact, I don't need to imagine, I saw multiple cases like this. For lot of girls and some women, looking pretty is more important than having legs in warm.

It's possible that Rhoda could simply remove the enchantment from the keys. If the keys aren't on her anymore it should be treated as a separate enchantment when disenchanting them. Note I said might. This was never mentioned in canon. We know that if Nanase take off her clothes, her enchantment resistance would no longer apply to them. We also know that Elliot can transform back from woman, his clothes will not transform back when he take them off nor when he transforms back, they will transform back after about a day. But we have no idea if he can transform the clothes back without transforming himself. Note that if he couldn't, it still may not be applicable, as Elliot is not able to enchant anything he's not wearing, but if he could, it would make sense Rhoda can as well. But we don't know. Considering ingestion happens in small intestine, her starting to grow while eating suggests physics and chemistry don't have much to say about it: she apparently started growing as soon as chunk of cookie entered her stomach. I don't see anything dramatic on that, but it would count as trolling, yes. Note that in such case the car would likely resize INCLUDING people in it, because transformation safety obviously. I do. Topologically speaking, her situation is identical to situation of the chunk of cookie. The enchantments can totally interfere.
  9. NP Wednesday November 16, 2016

Depends. There are options to pay with credit card wirelessly now. Also, they are supposed to get out of store fast, there shouldn't be any payment involved. Unless they need to pay for parking, but parking near mall is usually free, isn't it? That might not be possible. I mean, return to normal size just the keys. And trying to hit the exact size for the keys to work with another enchantment would be hard. Considering car is bigger than person, not speaking about the key, the size change likely wouldn't be so big. Probably. Ok, can happen and would be funny.

If train station is the place where train stops, what is a workstation? Olive oil is made from olives. What is baby oil made from?

Not until you pointed it out. Maybe he is contemplating trying to convince the grandparents of the advantages of Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations? That would look like this:
  12. Story Friday November 18, 2016

Like Joan of Arc? Recently our mailperson has been giving our chihuahua treats if he happens to be outside when she comes around to deliver the mail. if mailpeople are so prone to getting shot at, I'm wondering if I should worry about my mailperson's motive for giving my dog those treats. I would say that mailpersons are more likely to be chased by dogs than shoot at, so the mailperson is probably hoping that if she gives your chihuahua treats he would be less likely to bit her legs.
  13. Story Friday November 18, 2016

Well, most of youtube? Problem is that while it's really hard to find anything offensive on kittens playing itself, most people who make movies have ambitions and usually fail to resist temptation to "improve" it in some way. I remember short movie about bears (cubs) which would probably be safe without sound, but I did feel offended when I turned on the sound with commentary. I completely agree that we shouldn't be using r-word or similar descriptions for politicians. Especially considering that more intelligent politicians of this sort are usually more dangerous, as their greed and malice can get them further than the less intelligent ones. Also, I suspect that lot of politicians pretend to be less intelligent that they are, either to appeal to broader spectrum of voters or so they can later label their policies "mistakes" instead of admitting they planned that. That, however, isn't general answer on usage of those words, nor answers my question about Forest Gump.
  14. Story Friday November 18, 2016

Pee-Wee's Big Adventure might not be good example, but would it be possible to use words like that to describe main characters in other movies, like Dumb and Dumber or Forrest Gump?
  15. Story Friday November 18, 2016

That's probably the reason they send them to look.
  16. NP Friday November 11, 2016

Or she becomes even more hypnotized by the movements of said "huge tracts of land". Considering she is supposed to stay hidden and therefore those "huge tracks of land" are only things she can look at ...
  17. Story Wednesday Nov 16, 2016

Although technically, the week EGS spent on the two-thirds of second Tedd was falling IS bigger difference in ratio, I would consider Grrl Power better in this. Or worse, depends at how you look at it.
  18. NP Friday November 18, 2016

That, of course, assumes that that is the only mall in town, or that they went to the same one. There is canon for that, in that the term "the mall" with on name attached has been used more than once. While this being only mall in town seems unlikely, being only mall the main characters are visiting is believable and yes, the "never specifying name of the mall nor talking about another mall" is pretty strong suggestion for that. Well ... of course, there is Swedekea. Which might mean that everyone in the town knows what mall is The mall and other malls are referred by name.
  19. Story Friday November 18, 2016

Please don't say that. Some people might take it as a challenge. Me, for example on a weird day/night. It's not challenge. There is nothing challenging on it. It's significantly easier than taking candy from baby.
  20. Story Wednesday Nov 16, 2016

Yeah, it's pretty crazy how so little time has passed in the comic. Dan even made a joke about it during Squirrel Prophet after the tournament ended and Grace commented that it felt like she ate dinner months ago. Also, June 7th continues. Again. It will never end. I don't think EGS is the record holder, though (warning: tvtropes link).
  21. NP Friday November 18, 2016

I'm going to go out a limb and guess that "location3" isn't in these here United States of 'Merica". Here in this part the world, we would say "parking lots". That being said, most malls, at least those that I have seen, have one parking lot that surrounds the mall, with 2 or more door ways leading into the mall. Often the big stores on each end of the mall have their own doors and another door that leads to the mail itself. Around here, "not enough parking" seems more matching description than "lots of parking". But I would agree with more door not meaning more parking spaces. In case of THIS mall, however ... there seem to be parking on three sides with dark alley as a shortcut.
  22. NP Friday November 11, 2016

There is also the possibility that Lucy doesn't recognize Tall!Rhoda due to what amounts to reverse change blindness, in that she knows Rhoda is a very small girl, so this taller model like girl can't be her. Might not even be psychological effect - Rhoda would definitely look differently from front than from up. Hmmm ... ... another scenario: Lucy sees Rhoda from higher floor, goes down and passes her while searching for her. Because she's recognized her from up but not from front ... ... although, both of those scenarios have the question how RHODA would react. I suspect "panic".
  23. NP Wednesday November 16, 2016

Yes. And while I would prefer if we would know enough about enchantments to explain it just by that knowledge, I would consider this meta reason more important for this case. Not-Tengu was defeated by exhausting the ambient energy he was feeding into his various enchantments. I think Not-Tengu required the ambient energy because he was actively overcoming resistance of those students AND his form enchantment would naturally only last few minutes because it requires too much energy to put it there on casting. The third effect, if it exists at all, was never called resistance. Hmmm ... looking at Not-Tengu example, the third effect may be actively using your or ambient magic to prolong the enchantment. Something Catalina would likely be not experienced enough to do. That IS possible. So far, Pandora was only one affected by any hijinks ...
  24. Story Friday November 18, 2016

I don't think having Susan there would help. In fact, having more people there could make this HARDER. I'm sure if Susan was there, the grandparents would insist calling her superior at some point. Good old days ... I'm not sure how good I remember being 6, but I'm sure I didn't wanted to watch "age appropriate" movies then. I found only sleeping with Hinako and that one seems little pervy ... but is just 45 minutes so it's probably something completely else. Yes, I guess not many people would experience all 639 years of it ... We have seen worse. Don't give up, we just started.
  25. Story Wednesday Nov 16, 2016

That still doesn't negate the fact that she did consider keeping a younger form available, she may still keep the 18 year old form, not exactly sure what mad her update the form though unless it was because she liked her hairstyle better than the what she had at the birthday party, or maybe she grew a bit in certain places, it's no secret (at least to us) that she is a bit insecure about her appearance. She considered keeping her NOW form as a younger form. And yes, growing at certain places might be the reason ... Biologically people start ageing before they are born. But most people divide they life to "growing" and "ageing", some even with gap between those. We don't know how much space does a full clone form require. On the other hand, her form IS backed up on Grace and we don't know if Grace even HAS an erase functionality http://elgoonishshive.wikia.com/wiki/El_Goonish_Shive_Timeline The comics started January 20 and is currently in January of next year (with big help of half year timeskip).
