It's canon that Nanase wasn't that careful with magic back then. I think Dan said somewhere that some of those standalone comics might be canon. Non-Gratuitous Nudity, meanwhile, was never called canon despite making complete sense to be. I can totally see Susan mentioning she would like to try playing some game on console and Susan's mother, after finding out there are multiple options, buying everything. Would match how Susan ended in France.

Agree, especially because unlike linked strip, I'm not sure there will be any Moperville left afterwards.
  3. Story: Friday June 24, 2016

What "set"? Are you sure it was whole story line? I mean, the three comics starting here are part of "Standalone Jan 2010" and not all of it is canon. The list matches list on wiki, so no surprise.

Crazy Taxi had customers tip you based on how many idiotic life threatening stunts you could pull off on the way to their destination. Video game logic is in no way based upon the real world. "Holy carp! You just jumped off the roof of a car park, flew 50 yards through the air, and landed on top of another building! It's a miracle you didn't get us both killed! Here's an extra $50, my good man!" The idea that customers will LIKE pizzas which experienced several g's from various directions through all those parkour manoeuvres doesn't seem based in real world either. Wouldn't mobile game be more likely side scroller?
  5. Story: Wednesday, June 22, 2016

I agree so very much with that. I don't think Edward understands how much he has hurt his son, but Tedd no longer feels safe around his father and that is a terrible situation for both of them. Not speaking about how terrible that can be for the WORLD. Case in point, Lord Tedd. They are not nearly disturbed enough. That would be smart reaction, yes ... but I don't think Sarah is THAT much inclined. If for nothing else then for meta purposes - it will be more dramatic if they DON'T tell everything to Edward. First, I'm not sure more time spent on planing will help. Second, I don't think anything could've been removed from those storylines without it missing ... and I'm little afraid what will we miss if Dan overdoes the editing. Hoo boy. I think it will take a LOT of desperation before Mr. Verres will look up Mr. Raven and ask him for help with his son. ... why do I feel this doesn't mean it won't happen?
  6. Story: Wednesday, June 22, 2016

He has no more reason to be there now than he already had, true. Nevertheless, he MIGHT decide to get tested. Of course when I mentioned Sarah I though her telling Tedd or Grace, not Edward. While the idea of having Ashley there because unlike Elliot she actually remembers the names is nice, I'm sure the names are recorded on several Youtube videos. ... that's assuming he doesn't already know. It would be good example of how carefully he observes the main eight: Ashley was very random encounter, on the other hand it wasn't like they were keeping it secret.
  7. NP: Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Quadrachromatic was already mentioned in comics, actually. ... ok, so no completely colorblind.
  8. Story: Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Well Nanase and Elliot did say they were going to report what they've discovered about; the Griffins, the other half of the world and how magic flow between them is blocked in Moperville, the increase in the number of vampires in Moperville and how Diane is Susan's sister; "tomorrow", so logically, Dan would have to start the next story arc with Nanase, Elliot and whoever else tags along getting Edward's reaction, exposition and advise on the subject on a Sunday. Right. So, Sunday won't be significant based on what will happen, but based on people getting to know what happened on Saturday. It may be Nanase and Elliot telling Edward. It may be Justin finally getting tested if he's awakened. It may be Sarah telling someone about her spell ... or Tedd telling someone else about his ability. It may be someone being told about Elliot being Cheerleadra. Or maybe Grace decide to tell something to Raven.

I've read Elenium and Tamuil. I see I should keep skipping Belgariad. Or what about Steve? Oh, wait, that was Skeeve.
  10. Story: Friday, June 17, 2016

Yes, she's been training. But compared to others, she didn't leveled much. Nanase got Guardian form, which is extremely powerful, Tedd realized (part of) his dangerous rarity, four characters were marked and four characters awakened.
  11. Story: Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Which is surprising given how gigantic the difference is. Not necessary. It might be something which already happened in Saturday or it may happen in Monday ... You mean the one linked from mentioned tvtropes page ?
  12. NP: Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Actually, the waving may excite the bull as well. It's just the color it doesn't see. Because bulls are colorblind. ... true. Cartoon bulls might see colors well.
  13. NP Friday June 17, 2016

Big moving parts are easy. Food is chemically unstable: the molecules inside food are moving and reacting. In fact ... lot of food is still ALIVE. Like, sure, not the cow, but fruit and vegetables are still alive when being eaten. So is the mold on cheese - like Camembert - or yeast in beer.
  14. Story: Friday, June 17, 2016

I don't think it's flaw. Lot of authors - and famous authors - write in same way ... only they are writing TEXT, not webcomic, and publish by books, not by page. ...Which will insure shock value when we run into what is essentially Grace without all that nice stuff holding her back. ... General Shade Tail? Well, yes, but writing with characters BASED on game have it's disadvantages as well. ... good example. In EGS, conflicts are rarely solved using power. Grace started most powerful, but got the least amount of "leveling" since start (well ... since Sister, she levelled quite a bit before that), and it was just using what she already had. So, others seem to be catching up with her.
  15. Story: Monday, June 20, 2016

I would second the Amber Chronicles, but I think Discworld is more important. He can wait with Amber until he would want to reintroduce Lord Tedd. I don't think there is any better book (not counting university course books) for explaining what "number of universes is infinite" MEANS. While good, I wouldn't recommend sci-fi to someone who listed fantasy as everything he reads.
  16. Story: Friday, June 17, 2016

That's not entirely true. While games are more sensitive to character power levels, an extremely powerful character in any narrative work can remove dramatic tension, requiring either contrivances or escalation to explain why the OP character doesn't simply solve the problem causing the dramatic tension. EGS does focus more on social aspects than straight combat, but given Grace's pacifistic, fun-loving, and over-all friendly nature, the most likely spells for Grace to get if she awakens would be social in aspect. It's true you still need SOME balance in narrative work. Difference is that in game, you need to balance all characters using just power of abilities. In narrative work, you only need to balance party against enemy (or did someone complained that Gandalf and Aragorn are OP compared to Merry and Pippin?) and you have much more tools for balancing, like specific disadvantages, bad luck, social aspects ... Exactly. She might get some guaranteed-to-stun-only spells, actually ... it's definitely something she's yearning for.
  17. NP, Monday June 20, 2016

She don't use magic power for that either.

Dozens of chemicals that are IMPORTANT for the taste. Total number of chemicals in organic food is likely even higher. And almost all chemicals in food have 3D structure which MATTERS - even simple stuff like sugar have TWO different shapes, the D-glucose being normal sugar, important nutrient, and L-glucose, indistinguishable in taste but totally indigestible unless you are Burkholderia caryophylli. So, even if you don't insist on taste and texture, just matching the nutritional value would be challenge.
  19. Story: Friday, June 17, 2016

It doesn't explicitly confirm it, but it strongly suggest it. The summoning of tonfas was certainly earth magic. Agree. OK, we are fairly sure the next arc is going to be Sisters 3. Unless they are a part of it, we still have Sarah and Sam's "date" and Justin and Luke's date to deal with. That, based on "So a date in the mall" is going to take a couple of hundred strips each. So three arcs, let's call it 500 strips at 3 a week is roughly 3 years and 2 months. That will take care of the next 10 days or so of comic time. It will be, at most, early February comic time by 2019. I suspect at least one of the dates is going to be NP canon story line to avoid some of that, but still. Then another timeskip will happen and Grace's 19. I would be more worried about the 2020 estimate of Lord Tedd returning. I think he will return AFTER they finish with Pandora, and that would take them some serious real time. Luckily, this is comics, not game, so we don't need to care about it being OP.
  20. Story: Wednesday, June 15, 2016

I optimistically hope that it's the second and not the first. She's still embarrassed to admit it to HERSELF, IMHO. All Tedd examples are fun and teasing. I'm not sure how ready is Tedd for it being SERIOUS. But definitely more ready than Sarah.

... where? (Note that even I know what Splatoon is. Even played it once, on con. I suppose it was tutorial mission but still.)
  22. NP Friday June 17, 2016

And THIS is mentioned somewhere? Might not be StarTrek-level replicators, but the replacement Mecha is obviously not from storehouse, but freshly build. Remember than replicating mechas is MUCH simpler than food. I can't comment the rest as I'm not playing, just watching trailers and stuff. But this I agree with.
  23. Story Friday, June 10, 2016

It depends. When did you stop watching? If you've only watched the Original Series (Ash's journeys through Kanto, Orange Islands and Johto), then definitely. Considering I DO remember Dawn, somewhere in middle of Diamond & Pearl ? Looking at images of episodes, either they mixed the order (again), or I started skipping before stopping completely. If I will still remember it at the time ... I suppose I won't return to it before retirement. Comics are better. I think it WAS hinted that he only doesn't need to pay in Pokemon center and similar places, so it might not even need to be government. Obviously. Wouldn't explain where those trainers get the money, also Ash doesn't battle that many trainers. Specially the construction workers was what I based my "source of cheap labour" comment on. On the other hand, they also seem to have pretty advanced technology. Automation can help a lot too.
  24. Story: Wednesday, June 15, 2016

Current population seems to be over 7 400 000 000 and did he really already used it? But yes. Number of readers of this comics is certainly lower. There are people who don't have Internet access, for example. Or people who would be executed for reading so open comics. Or people who are not aware what they are missing. Not speaking about the fact that not everyone who read his comics told him he got it wrong. I didn't, for example.
  25. Story Friday, June 10, 2016

Excuse me? The Pokémon world has been in danger many times. Mostly in the movies, yes, but Ash and his friends have had to rescue legendary Pokémon from being used for evil many times in the anime as well and by saving them, they've saved the world from destruction each time. My favorite time when that happened was in the DP series when they stopped Team Galactic from creating a new universe which would have wiped the old universe from existence. Are you saying it started to be more interesting after I stopped watching? That "saving legendary pokemons" was not stated to be preventing destruction of world, was it? Sure, the weather was awful with Moltres and Zapdos captured, but I'm not convinced the "earth shall turn to ash" was really about destruction of whole world. ... which reminds me that I'm not sure why was Ash so worried when Pikachu was injured. Generally, the injuries from battles seem less serious than other injuries, even if they are obviously physical (I mean, from normal type attacks). The games are not like the anime. Of course. It wouldn't be interesting if it would be that easy. Still, Ash seems to be doing LOT of mistakes, and he also seems to LOSE most pokemons he get. I'm not sure why they didn't rather make some rule about only using "local" pokemons in every league - oh wait, that would prevent him for using Pikachu all the time. ... so, his Sinnoh pokemons were back, or did he started with just Pikachu again? They also seem to not realize that if they try to keep the series to go forever by making Ash never really change, it will became too boring to watch. No, Ash and his friends (or anyone else in the show) don't seem to age. There's no explanation for it whatsoever, we're just supposed to accept it. They're like the Simpsons - we see time pass, but it doesn't affect anyone. Not physically, at least. ... Simpsons are comedy. Comedy can take more abuse. Tom & Jerry don't need to age ever. In more serious genre, the "resets" are frustrating. If they really want to start from the beginning, they should make new character. It's not like it wouldn't be pokemon without Ash. Yeah. There are lots of Trainer Schools in the show, but since not EVERYONE is a Trainer, it can be assumed that there are also regular schools for people who want to have real jobs. There doesn't seem to be an upper age limit to being a Trainer, however, so many adults can also spend their time walking through forests and mountains catching Pokémon and living off the government money. ... right. Government money? Is it ever stated who is paying all those trainers? I hoped that the older ones need to get some real jobs, even if that would be just something like Gym leader, pokemon researcher or stuff like that. Although, maybe with exploiting pokemons as cheap work force, their economy can afford it.
