  1. Heidi clothes are already very sexy. This might make them too risky for wearing ... You mean those women are actually competent and good reporters? Because if networks have something like this, they would hire competent reporter and give her the tea before shooting instead of hiring eye candy ... What?
  2. That, or she is testing Tedd's new watches - oh wait, she doesn't have any. Seriously though, Tedd should be able to make transformation correcting vision. If it would be just clothes and not Charlotte being lazy ... although Charlotte likely isn't type for sexy poses anyway.
  3. That's likely artificial confidence from the FV5 form. ... although this option would be better.
  4. Sooo ... does Tedd already have a mirror like this? If not, how long will it take him to build it based on the transformation testing machine? I think it will be even better if it wouldn't be apparent which side is mirror, but I guess then it will be hard to show it's mirror and not Grace. (At least assuming it's not Grace ...)
  5. 4,6,8,12,20 ... we have all, no dice is missing.
  6. STORY: Wednesday April 27, 2016

The fact you are going to special facility for holding magic-capable criminals might be strengthening enough. Also, I guess in lot of cases magic does count as "deadly weapon". It's technically not. He's not even lying. The spoofing of cameras is obvious and likely tolerated. Posing as specific person requires scanning that person: it doesn't seem to be easy to do without consent and even if it is, Edward may downplay the risk. Posing as simply "someone else than you" is already possible by lot of methods and in cases where it really matters magic-based identification is used. BECAUSE Edward insisted. Remember: art of speaking a lot and telling little. If someone objects that the clone forms were not mentioned, Edward can say they were. Sure, the sentence "it can spoof biometric security like voiceprint, finterprint and eyescan" is not included in the description, but the wording is ambiguous enough Edward can claim the information is there. So what? Don't. Flying 1.6km/s directly up gets you through the atmosphere in minute. Sure, it means that when you are out of atmosphere, you need to do right angle turn and accelerate to stable orbit speed, but ... If you have engines capable of doing 50-150g and inertial dampeners to protect crew and cargo, you don't care. And yes, that's exactly what several UFOs seems to have. (This one goes 122g.) With chemical propulsion, we can't really afford it, because both going up, then right angle turn and accelerating to orbital speed and decelerating from orbital speed, then right angle turn and directly down is wasting lot of fuel. (In fact, the "going directly up" itself is not so easy, as you need to match angular speed of earth rotation.) But for more advanced engines this may not be problem. Or at least less problem than the aerobraking damaging your stealth. (Also, shape of ship is irrelevant if you have some sort of "shields".)

It's perfectly logical for someone to be angry because you remind him something bad. The fact you couldn't possibly have any idea that what you said can remind him it doesn't make him less angry. In many cases, it actually makes him more angry (which is not so logical). You think the pieces stopped flying out already?
  8. STORY: Wednesday April 27, 2016

Jerry felt that Susan shouldn't be sent to fight the vampire. He might not object to marking her. His goal is not to kill Elliot. That was only one way to that goal and he already rejected it. Also, Diane killing Elliot is not likely, but still more likely than Susan. Hammer can do serious damage even if it's tool and not weapon (weapon-hammer and tool-hammer don't differ that much anyway). High heels can kill someone if you step on his head. Frying pan is used as popular improvised weapon in several anime. Unless her spell will be limited to summoning powder box, it can be classified as summoning weapons. Most flying saucers are showing manoeuvres proving they don't really NEED something as primitive as heat shield. It was more like Edward being not sure that they were 100% out of the reach of the long arm of the law, but yes, if it would be multiple year journey the law would likely not bother. Wolf 359 is less than 8 light-years from Earth and it still doesn't have "well-known name" (of course, after the massacre, it is known pretty well). Granted, it's red dwarf, so not exactly visible with naked eye and unlikely to have habitable planets, but in general, if you are implying the star being far away because it was not named it wouldn't hold. Also, we might not be given the name for Uryuoms' native star for same reason we were not given exact year the story is happening in. I'm guessing that he DID reported it but did it in a way which didn't attracted attention to it. Pandora might not be entirely truthful when she talked about full disclosure but her explanation makes sense and Edward can't really afford someone discovering he was hiding something from FBI. Also, as a head of paranormal division, working inside the system was much more effective than trying to hide it completely. I think Tedd is classified as contract worker for FBI or something like that somewhere. And result of his reverse engineering is on file. And maybe he already build few more copies for FBI internal use. Remember that DBG was not supposed to be enemy. And we are still not sure if it changed with Arthur Arthur - Edward doesn't agree with his goals but may still trust him with the informations. Well ... it was just almost and it wasn't anyone important. Keeping secrets - proving he can't be trusted - will be worse. It's not official regulation - officially nothing like TF gun exists. So there is not official license either. Which likely makes easier for Tedd to be allowed to own it and manufacture it. Remember the ID Tedd shown to security guard of PTTAPUTASF? Maybe the reason he had any relevant ID was BECAUSE the TF gun. Remember that only reason DGB knows about the high levels of ambient magic in Moperville is that Tedd told them. Even without knowing the details about his magical analysis ability, his research is extremely valuable for them.

I remember them seeing this movie, doesn't seem similar. This is likely going to be whole noir genre parody. Also, it will be definitely mysterious. ... also, I hope it won't lower the chance of Abner showing in the comics again. With Carol.
  10. NP, Friday April 29, 2016

Good catch. Apparently, Dan already forget this, considering he didn't linked it ... That would certainly be a fitting weapon for the Hammer Queen. Definitely. Although I suspect that Susan beated them several times with different weapons.
  11. STORY: Wednesday April 27, 2016

If she will be marked, the one doing the marking will have some limited choice which it will be. The "spell matching affinity" will always be an option, while "spell matching strong desire" will be option if she had some strong desire at the moment. For some people, there may be multiple desire-based options, but lot of people don't desire ANYTHING strong enough (like Sarah). Similarly, awakening without being marked first might grant her spell which has something to do with the circumstances of awakening - especially if it will be improper awakening like from dewitchery diamond. But her affinity will always be there and if the first spell wouldn't match, the second likely will. I think Ellen's Copy Beam gives her powers if the powers are intrinsic to that form, like Nanase's guardian form and theoretically Elliot's Cheerleadra form. I doubt it would give her any powers that aren't intrinsic to the form being copied. So she wouldn't get Susan's spells if she copied her form and I doubt she would get Grace's abilities if she copied her, as Grace's abilities are intrinsic to Grace, not any particular form she has (Maybe with the exception of senses gained from antennae if Grace has those out when copied) Agree and note that while Cheerleadra's flying or superstrength might count, the secret identities, while part of the spell, would certainly NOT be copyable. I'm pretty sure the author is setting things up for Diane to be marked. My best guess about which way he'll go with it is that the smoke-shaped mark seems to fit Diane's pride in her stealthiness. On the other hand, I have no idea what the circle-rectangle mark might be. On the third hand, Sarah got a mark that wasn't given here. I think the marks at that list were marks already used, which does NOT include Diane (or Sarah). The one not yet accounted for will likely belong to Luke's friends. But yes, Diane is set up to be marked, definitely. It would be very hard to explain how she wouldn't be marked at this point: with the vampires around, they likely ask Jerry, Helena or Demetrius next time they see them, unless Pandora will get to her first.

Those are generally considered FTL, despite the theory of relativity not being violated. Also, note that wormholes can be considered either or both but usually are mentioned specifically. Mainly because it's the only method of FTL travel which doesn't violate ANYTHING in our physic theories. While it's likely that their landing vehicles are shaped like flying saucers, it doesn't say anything about shape of "mothership" - the ship which actually did the interstellar travel.
  13. Story Comic for 2016 April 25th

The first example doesn't count, that's the dress Nanase chose for Ellen to wear at Grace's birthday party. Ellen was blushing like mad, clearly not comfortable with the look, when she first appeared wearing it. But she choose to wear it and ONLY it when singing. Also, she might be more comfortable wearing it with more limited audience. And finally, I would say she got more comfortable with sexy clothes since then. I think her choice of clothes is more "comfortable" than "tomboyish".
  14. STORY: Wednesday April 27, 2016

"Manufactured" might be too much. It is implied wands can be created, which is nothing new as Tedd is doing that (the watches are technically a wand). I don't think they can be mass-produced or something like that. Diane doesn't need weapons reflecting who she is. Even if she summons a purse, that purse would still count as magical weapon and will be super-effective against vampires. ... I don't think she can get summoning of high-tech gadgets as first spell. That would likely be hard spell. Also, are you sure weapons are not her thing? I would consider this strip to imply she plays some MMORPG (with Lucy) ... Jerry said "it's basically the hammers" but I think the spell is actually pretty different, it just looks similarly. So it's not "spell got transfered", it's more like "Susan got new spell reflecting her usage of Jerry's hammers". I don't think anyone will lend her any, but I agree it's more likely than other ways to obtain it. Well, there is also Tedd's tech, but that might count as BOTH depending on how you look at it. "please don't become the next Roswell" ... yup, DGB was definitely involved in that. Note that we still don't know any details about HOW they got on Earth, but yes, FTL seems likely.
  15. STORY: Wednesday April 27, 2016

Right. I'm just saying that Diane's power isn't necessarily going to be summoning anything. It could be anything related to magic weapons. While possible (not directly disproved by anything in story), the informations we have suggest that non-summoned magic weapons either don't exists or are not in scope of the talent Susan and Diane have. As I said, Obviously, in D&D and lot of other places, enchanted weapons counts as magic weapons. This may not be true in EGS. You are not supposed to be able to wield Excalibur at all unless you are king (or, presumably, queen) of Britain. And it's Nanase who's supposed to have blood of queens.
  16. STORY: Wednesday April 27, 2016

Then we've got conflicting info: http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=2185 Nanase might either not remember exact description or she is leaving out details to get to the main point quickly.
  17. STORY: Wednesday April 27, 2016

Susan's spell is, yes. But their affinity is just for magic weapons, not summoning or summoned magic weapons. Susan's TALENT was described as natural talent for spells that create objects out of magic and spider vampire talks about Diane summoning the bane one day. You don't need nuclear reactor. Coal power plant would suffice. But those tend to be not exactly portable either. You can compare laser to wielding torch. Both are tools which can cut things and can be doing it as long as you keep providing energy to them. Thing is, storing the energy in form of chemical which is going to be burned like acetylene is much more efficient than batteries. In fact, if you will be able to convert the heat to electricity (or light) effectively enough (which is not exactly possible with portable devices), you could power the laser with acetylene-based battery. Or, if we move from the analogy back to real devices ... hydrogen fuel cell will be more believable energy source for portable laser than normal battery. I suspect you can't make pistol with that ... but it will be something you can drag behind you on wheels.
  18. Story Comic for 2016 April 25th

Exactly. Most people are not comfortable with nuclear weapons either. While Dan stated multiple times that he won't do X because he's not comfortable with it, we can't be sure that this will prevent stuff WE are uncomfortable with from appearing in EGS.
  19. STORY: Wednesday April 27, 2016

Rewatch the TNG. Laser guns appear very sparsely in Star Trek. The thing they usually use is called phaser.
  20. Story Comic for 2016 April 25th

I'm not sure I feel comfortable with the idea that magic would be making Elliot like the female forms, at least that's what your sentence sounds like. I'm personally not comfortable with it either. But it is possible and it may be what Infinite Remnant was referring to. If it's small, subtle, gradual change, how can we tell if it's natural or not? This is the true danger of magic. Not the obvious stuff like Not-Tengu transforming room of people into Nanase's clones, but small subtle changes. Only thing even more dangerous - and ALSO possible with magic - is the kind of change with ex post facto effect: And since the change, it always has been that way. Yes, with parents like this both Ellen and Elliot's behaviour can be explained even without magic changing them.

I suspect she might get on killing spree on meeting similar kind of jerks in real life as well. Luckily, this level of jerkdom is not so common. New Vegas considers weapons that still require you to punch to be "unarmed weapons". Things like brass knuckles, various kinds of gauntlets, and even boxing gloves. It sounds like oxymoron but from skill point of view it makes sense. (When I first saw it, I looked what that means on Fallout wiki.) Trying to solve issue peacefully is good, but some issues can only be solved by complete annihilation of one side of dispute. Yeah I don't think Tedd would have been surprised by this outcome either. Though I would expect Grace to be a little upset that she failed to finish the game without killing anything. But I'm sure she understands that when a game is designed around a post apocalyptic setting, there's likely to be some very undesirable NPCs. He might actually already predicted this when he was recommending her the unarmed combat. I mean, he knows Grace more than we do.
  22. STORY: Wednesday April 27, 2016

The ability is supposed to be kind of summoning ability, so ... For that to work, there needs to be a laser pistol. She can only summon things that are in a marked box. (or could anyway. She may have a better version of the spell now) Technically, only problem with Laser Pistol is that you need power supply. Like, battery won't make it. AC power socket won't make it. What you need will be closer to what railway uses. You don't want to have cable like that attached to something you hold in your hand. ... and the cable won't fit into Susan's container. Agree. She may get spell for summoning more parts later, but only if she will have use for it. I wonder if Susan kept her spell book in her chest with the weapons and fairy dolls, she could summon it as well, and would it let her read it? Based on what we know about Susan, she likely got at least half of ideas we do and TRIED most of them. Pity we don't know the results.
  23. Story Comic for 2016 April 25th

Agree. There are more games with bad camera angles than games where you actually need to role play. It's possible that there is NOT a name for it. I mean, that his situation is more complicated than Tedds and therefore naming it will not be as simple. While not technically skirt, I think both this and this count as very feminine clothes. And remember that Elliot's ability to change clothes gives him much more opportunities for experiments that Ellen has - and more opportunity for Dan to show it. I don't think Elliot will get to be more female than Ellen. I'm not certain I follow. Are you suggesting that the magic itself is changing Elliot's outlook? Or perhaps that the magic was responding to something subconscious or repressed? Magic can adapt people to match the spells just as it's changing spells to match the people.
  24. STORY: Wednesday April 27, 2016

Because she can only summon ONE thing, duh ... while we never get canon set of rules, it make sense that crossbow and arrow would be two things. Also, the force needed to fire the arrow would likely make it vanish.
  25. NP, Wednesday April 27, 2016

... well, you can roleplay a seer that way
