Maybe a Teenage Chainsaw Wielding Dragon?

Practically, I think 20 feet is about as big a dragon that could actually fit inside Tedd's house, assuming around half that length is tail, wings can fold, and it's built more like a greyhound than that bulldog dragon we saw in Bringing Silly Back.

From the doorlike paneling, I suspect Grace and Tedd are standing just inside the front door in this comic, perhaps just before opening it to reveal Susan and Diane. Or maybe pizza. Or maybe a mystery guest or two.

Possibly Elliot might become aware when Nanase sees his Rose Elliot form, the one Elliot used at the mall and the one from Elliot and Ashley's first kiss.

Tedd could make watches to make people look like anyone, but they probably wouldn't change their personalities or give them any magic power Tedd didn't include in the enchantment.

Nanase made a fairy doll for Ellen of her cockatoo hair version on the night of Grace's birthday party. Once she actually transformed, she didn't seem to have any problems being male. Her really big embarrassment was being caught picking out that sexy outfit for Ellen. Speaking of transformations, do you all remember that MV5 is canon? How about a buff Ashley?

Does any doubt remain that Ashley's wizardry will emphasize transformations?

Reconstructing a relationship between Tedd and his mother is worthy of an arc by itself. I'd like to see it before I die; I'm sixty-nine.

I don't think Edward has ever spoken of his ex-wife in 17 years of canon. One plausible reason is that he doesn't want to fly into a rage--like he did when Adrian called him in Death Sentence. So being elsewhere when Noriko shows up to talk to Tedd sounds like a pretty good idea to me. Also, have you ever faced a soon-to-be-ex-wife in court? I can assure you from my own experience that being scared of your ex-wife is nothing to be ashamed of, even if she can't attack you with magic swords.

And should Noriko wait for another decade or so to start trying? Van had no idea before he had a sibling; now he does. I think Noriko's self-justification up until a couple of weeks ago was "It's better I don't see Tedd because Van, and better Van doesn't know about Tedd." It may take years in our time for this meeting to happen, but it should happen reasonably soon in Moperville time.

I said some reconciliation, and between Tedd and Noriko, NOT between Tedd's parents if that's what you mean. And I really do have some hope it will begin in this chapter. The biggest reason I justify this hope is the excuse Dan has given Edward for being out of the way for this party: Finally hooking up with Lavender in canon, throwing some cold water on the notion that Edward is carrying a torch for his ex. Also consider the possibility that know-it-all Edward knows Noriko is coming and has decided to be elsewhere. Perhaps Edward friend Cranium is keeping a secret eye on the party in case things go pear-shaped? Or Greg's in the bush again? Also, it's unlikely that we've seen the last of Melissa because Noah. BTW, if you actually follow the link, the "gauges-in-the-center" bit about Elliot's car is a real-life factoid. I test-drove the earliest model of the Toyota Prius, which is what Elliot (and Ellen) are supposed to drive, and that's where all the gauges are. The reason they're there is to make it easier to produce; otherwise two there would be two different dashboards to make because cars in Japan have the steering wheel on the right.
  17. Story, Wed 16 Oct, 2019

I hope we'll see Ellen's contagious-transformation spell before the end of the party. BTW, quite some time ago I looked up "Manase" on the JDIC and it turns out to be a real Japanese name.
  18. Story, Wed 16 Oct, 2019

Yes--as a woman, assuming the delivery person would be a straight guy. But having it be the woman who met Magus spot Elliot would be better, and perhaps advance the plot. Ashley's reaction to "Mr. Magus?" would be good, and it's easy to find an excuse for her to be with Elliot when the pizza arrives. ("Mr Magus" is how the delivery woman addressed Magus, who apparently wasn't smart enough to use another name.) Having Susan and Diane arrive while the delivery person is there could be even better, or at least more complicated.
  19. Story, Wed 16 Oct, 2019

Tedd said he wanted pizza as well as cake, so we may see a pizza delivery person dropping by. Two characters have appeared in this role: Matt Cohen, who brought the pizza for Grace's birthday party. Obviously, Tedd should answer the door again. The young woman who delivered pizza to Magus. In this case, Elliot should answer the door, and have the young woman mistake him for Magus. "This isn't all for you again, is it?"

Having Noriko and Van show up is my current most-hoped-for plot twist now, but I can think of other alternatives. Here's one: Maybe Title Pending really does hint at the plot in this way: Remember how the griffins thought Nanase was a princess? Maybe she is. Are the Kitsunes really from the Japan on the Moperville side of the world, or the other side, or from another universe?

Chekov's gun was put over the mantlepiece more than a year ago now, when Dan revealed Van was Tedd's half-sibling. Tedd is in his own home, surrounded by all his friends, and his dad is conveniently out of the house for the weekend, so no fight between his mom and dad (yet). What would be a better time and place for Tedd? Title Pending could be more of a smokescreen than a joke. It certainly doesn't give a big hint like Family Ties. Maybe Dan is planning on springing a surprise. Some reconciliation between Tedd and his mom sounds fairly upbeat to me.
  22. Story, Wed 16 Oct, 2019

Maybe there are lions and tigers too?
  23. Monday, Oct 14, 2019

    Yes, there will be cake.
  24. Monday, Oct 14, 2019

I don't think there will be enough cake if there's a bunch of monsters. Besides, there haven't been any monsters in Title Pending; the theme has been all about relationships.
  25. Monday, Oct 14, 2019

But it would be awesome if she does, wouldn't it?
