I saw her as a potential major antagonist as soon as we heard that she was in line for a position of power. And I wonder if Dan is laying the groundwork for an eventual confrontation between Tedd and friends VS Bishop's Magical-FBI, or if she will be metaphorically de-fanged before she becomes such a problem. However, another possibility occurs to me as well: her taking up Arthur's position might just be another way to set things up so the main cast can't rely on help from DGB when things go wrong.

https://www.egscomics.com/comic/layers-020 So it looks like Lavender is referring multiple things. You know, this storyline is a bit stressful for me right now. I wonder just how badly the secret-revealing will go? (I'm also a bit worried about what those Uryuoms from the other world are going to do.) It's odd, because I know that reading the archives, having drama and bad things happening will make the comic more interesting and meaningful (it has with past epic stories like Painted Black and Sister II)... but the comic has been so mellow for so long I've gotten used to it being a relaxing read, and whenever it isn't it bothers me.

I believe there are cat breeds with tails that bushy, but they're rare. The tails aren't bushy enough to be fox tails, though. As for the breast sizes, they're a bit large for my tastes (well, a lot large for my tastes; I prefer small breasts) but not so large as to be a turn-off (at least not in a drawing). (This may partially be due to desensitization; Tedd and Ashley's breasts here are positively modest compared to the breasts of some of the women in the comics I read back in the 90s...)

It doesn't surprise me Tedd is happy his work has helped others. It does surprise me this was his first reaction, particularly since it's not yet clear how much of Tedd's work Edward shared. A lot of the forms Tedd created tied in with his own tastes and interests (possibly even fetishes); I would expect the possibility that other people were seeing which forms he chose to create without his permission would be embarrassing or even mortifying. There's also the fact that Tedd has the clone-form data for all his close friends, and that data was supposed to remain private. I was going to say that hopefully Edward was careful about what data he shared, but that would imply at least Edward looked through Tedd's data without permission. Really, the only scenario I can see that doesn't involve a breach of Tedd's privacy would be if Tedd shared the data for the clone forms for Will and Gill with them, and Edward got a copy of that. (I was concerned that Dr. Germahn having copies of some of Tedd's notes and code was a sign that Edward had passed on more than the clone forms for Will and Gill, but looking through parts of Balance again I see that Tedd passed those notes on to Arthur with the knowledge it would be further passed on.) ...On the other hand, it occurs to me that living with a father who was the head of a secret government agency of the sort that acts like that agency should be the only ones allowed to keep secrets, it's possible Tedd may have a rather unusual sense of the concept of "privacy".

Of course there is. We're called "cats". I hear dolphins, elephants, corvids, octopi, and wolves are pretty smart too. (Domestic dogs as well, I suppose.) (Of course there are also Chipanzees, Bonobos, and Gorrillas, but as the primary differences between them and humans are more fur and less ambition, I'm not sure they count for the purposes of this discussion.)

Re: the commentary: I suppose given how (relatively) seriously EGS takes itself these days, this retcon (or "continuity addition" if you prefer) was required. If EGS had maintained the level of comedic absurdity it often had in the early days, though, this detail wouldn't have been necessary. I'm a bit disappointed; I enjoyed the idea of hardly anyone realizing there were aliens among us despite them looking quite different from humans. (On a similar vein, I enjoyed how in the early comics Nanase regularly using magic in public and even Justin occasionally doing obvious illusions without any apparent risk to the masquerade, something Dan downplayed as much as possible for many years.)

Pink Floyd is among my favorite bands (though not quite enough of a favorite for me to have rushed out and bought all their albums as soon as I realized how much I like them, like I've done with a few other bands). I have CD and digital versions of all of the albums I've got so far, but I only ever bought them once - the ones I got as CDs I copied to my computer, and the ones I bought digitally I burned to CD (this is actually what I do with most music I collect). So I finished listening to Meddle. The final song, "Echoes", was also really good. The songs in between were fun, but in my opinion weren't quite up to the same level as the first and last songs.

I've been slowly collecting Pink Floyd's discography over the past few years. I just got Meddle yesterday, and am now listening to it. (I'm only on the first song, "One Of These Days", but I really like it.)

So I decided to finish up the bonus dungeons in Final Fantasy PSP with my Ninja/Master team after all. I had to move on to the fourth bonus dungeon to build up enough strength for the end-dungeon bosses of the third bonus dungeon (who are probably the toughest bosses in the game). After that, the final bonus dungeon was pretty easy (save for a few frustrating puzzles that I wound up using a guide for because I didn't have the patience to figure them out myself), if a bit time consuming.

My first thought was that Mr. Verres and/or William & Gillian had been sharing Tedd's TFG modifications with other Uryuoms without Tedd's knowledge. If that's that case, and Mr. Verres is still trying to keep it a secret, that's fodder for some major drama, and probably a bit of a schism between Mr. Verres and Tedd when Tedd finds out. However, it occurs to me that there's another possibility: Lavender could be referring to how Magic's "not-a-change" (which Tedd helped with) allowed Uryuoms to use magic. (It's also possible she's talking about both the Magic not-a-change and Tedd's TFG work.)

https://www.egscomics.com/comic/layers-016 So, it's only a flashback with a minor retcon or two and a new fantasy sequence. I'm a little disappointed, but I suppose it was necessary for those fans who haven't re-read the early years of the comics enough to have them more-or-less memorized.

So, there was a Nintendo Direct earlier this week. I didn't watch it, but apparently highlights include: A remake of Super Mario RPG. "Super Mario Wonder": a 2D platformer where you can play as the Mario Bros, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Yoshis of several different colors, and Toad. A not-yet-titled Princess Peach game.

I've never seen Rawhide, but I've heard the theme before. I think it was in a commercial, though I don't remember for what. -
If it's feminine, it's only in subtle ways. I could see someone with a more muscular build and a more masculine haircut wearing something very similar (perhaps without the wrist cuffs and with a simple chain necklace) and looking masculine. I think part of the problem is our culture is so obsessed with binary gender that the range of what we acknowledge as neutral is very small (and the range that everyone agrees is neutral is even smaller, probably nonexistent).

Yay for bubbly background! As for the foreground... Considering the way a certain part of Susan's anatomy is resting on top of Catalina's, I guess in Susan's daydream she and Catalina must have shrunk while next to each other (as opposed to the way things often change in dreams, going from one thing to another instantly, sometimes with the new status quo treated as having always been the case). With as close as the two are (and the way their torsos are touching) I'd say it was erotic (or at least headed in that direction) even without taking into account Susan's feelings about physical contact.

So I've beaten the GameCube and Wii versions of Metroid Prime multiple times before (including on Hard difficulty) so this isn't a huge accomplishment for me, but I just beat Metroid Prime Remastered with 100% on Casual difficulty. I only died once (and that time was deliberate); while I was looking for a relaxing play-through, I wasn't expecting it to be quite that easy! I have to say it's by far the prettiest version of Metroid Prime yet, though it was annoying how dark some parts were (it was sometimes hard to make out my surroundings when it really shouldn't have been). Also, I like that there are multiple control schemes, but I was disappointed by the motion controls - they aren't nearly as good as the Wii version's controls. I definitely recommend it for any Metroid fans (or potential Metroid fans) who don't have access to the earlier versions, but I don't think it's going to replace the Wii version for me...

As far as I know there hasn't been any communication from whoever is currently "running" the site on the hardware/software side of things in years. Unless I missed it, we never got an explanation for that time the site was offline for close to a year back in 2020-2021, let alone any of the occasional smaller outages since, so I don't know why this one (which I also missed) would be any different.

Perhaps due to being about the same age as Dan (I think he's a couple years younger than me), I didn't even notice the non-current slang. Of course, considering that EGS is set in an ambiguous "present day" time period in an alternate universe, and the entire school-experience of the main cast is more reminiscent of the 90s than the 00s (let alone the 2020s), I think it would actually feel more out-of-place if everyone was using up-to-date slang. -
Keep in mind that in the world of EGS, streaming (not counting Youtube-like websites) hasn't been around very long (the first story to mention it was set in December of the previous in-story year, and in it Sarah and Grace are clearly just learning about how streaming services work) and there hasn't been a pandemic to help make it near-ubiquitous.

And I just beat FF with the above mentioned team. I wound up only doing two of the bonus dungeons before giving the final boss another try; a few more experience levels and the more powerful healing items you get in those dungeons made a huge difference. I'm not sure if I'm going to bother doing the rest of the bonus dungeons; they really aren't nearly as good as the original parts of the game.
