If it's just a bacterial soup that needs to be sterilized then the sun can do a surprisingly good job, and that without heating it anywhere near the boiling point. Just leaving a water filled PET bottle in the sun for six hours can be enough to kill of enough bacteria that it's safe to drink. The exact time required depends on the amount of sunlight available, the bottle quality, how clear the water is, and how much bacteria there was in the water to begin with. This is called the SODIS method. Read more about it here on Wikipedia, or on the site www.sodis.ch Note that one of the shortcomings of this method is that it doesn't remove anything from the water, so any poisonous contaminant or particulate matter will remain even though the bacteria is dead.

I have no idea about the tap water quality in Key West, but the Pharaoh and ijuin set it up so nice that I couldn't resist...

Don't think about as water but as protein shake on tap and it's not that bad. Just remember to boil it first if you're just visiting.

But what about our griffin friends and the humans in "the first half" of the EGS universe? They apparently draw their powers from the same pool of magic that Elliot, Susan and all the other marked or awakened magic users are using. Does that mean that if Magic switches things up "here", it will cause mayhem on the other side as well?

It might also take some trial and error before she's able to do something like this without having her expectations and imagination interfere. What we've seen so far suggest that there is a very fine line between just observing and modifying things. I can also see how it may be hard to imagine a X-ray machine and not warp the results presented by it...

That split dog analog is what I was going for. I think it's quite likely that Sarah will see something like that the first time she tries to yank someone or something from the border, but depending on how disturbing she finds it she may opt for imagining a black surface for the cut-off there after. Here is an interesting question... Does her simulation retain data on what's inside things, or is it just a skin deep image? I mean could she take a snapshot of an accident site and check people for broken bones and such? As it's her private simulation she could basically imagine that someones leg was stripped layer by layer until only the bone was left. But would that leave her with what she imagines it would look like, or would it be possible for her to see whats actually there even if she didn't know about it beforehand?

That holodeck was way to capable. If I'm not mistaken there was at least one instance when someone managed to build a transmitter on the holodeck and used that to send information from the Voyager to an enemy faction. If a holographic representation of a subspace transmitter can send an actual signal it makes me wonder if it would be possible to blow the ship up with a holographic bomb... Then there was the episode where someone was playing with classic villains from literature in some adventure setting. When they were summoned to the bridge the simulation wasn't paused, as it usually would be, but kept running. What was worse was that for some reason one of the villains, I think it was Moriarty but that's just a guess, actually saw them call the portal and exit. This was enough for these supposedly super intelligent villains to figure out that not only were they simulations, but that there was a starship outside the holodeck, and that they could actually use portable hologenerators, once developed for the ships doctor,to allow them to leave the holodeck. Being programed to be villains they were of course planing on taking over the entire ship. Those holodecks are ridiculously dangerous.

Well that is quite obvious. After all moving anything is a modification of the simulation. The closest to keeping it unchanged is probably to just let whatever was bisected by the simulation border stay as it was, neither adding nor subtracting information. She would still be changing the simulation, but far less than if she tried to recreate the parts that got cut off. I'd also guess that the simulation does retain the surface information of whatever was cut off. So pull that car back and you may be able to see exactly what the driver or a passenger looks like inside...

I think she'd probably end up with or without what ever was "missing" according to her expectations or intent. It would just be a modification of the simulation so whatever she wishes for will happen. The same with pulling on that bisected car. If she doesn't really think about it as she tries to pull it back her expectations causes whatever she believes it will do to happen. But if she thinks about it as modifying the scene then her imagination is the limit.

Being a cultist doesn't mean they can't be intelligent, but they do tend to lack what is often called common sense. Anyone insisting to question the leader or the "holy message" tends to disappear. No matter if they disappear by dying or being banished it will be flogged to the remaining believers as proof that their cause is just, and their leader divinely inspired.

Can't help but read this as that the dates were usually respected, and old stuff cleaned out, but other than that it was first come first served... Yea I know that's not what you meant, but it had me chuckle as I imagined the frustration that would cause.

And then either Adrian makes sure he keeps in touch with Grace and Ellen and learns of it, or he hears it from Noah and the next thing we see is Adrian Raven shouting at the top of his lungs: "Mother!!!"

Actually Samsung Techwin, who is the company making the weaponry linked to, was sold to Hanwha Group in 2014. So while they carry the Samsung name there is no longer any connection to the company Samsung, or Samsung Electronics. Doesn't mean there aren't a few engineers that transfered from Techwin before the sale was finalized...

Amen to that. A few years ago at a market I got my feet tangled up in some straps that had been left behind as they closed up. These straps are stiff enough that if you step on it it will stand up. So the next step you thread your foot through it and if the strap is short enough you can only take half a step, lose your balance and try to take a long step to compensate. But as you now has the strap looped around both feet this long step turns into another short half step and you are now falling without any control. This happened in December, a few days before christmas. The market square is lined with cobblestone and I managed to get my hands in front of me, trying to break the fall. The next thing I know I was face down on the ground with the tip of my nose touching the stone. This felt strange as I knew I had got my hands in front of me. Turns out my right hand landed on a small patch of ice and slipped forward. This caused me to land on my elbow, which didn't slip as it got caught between some of the cobblestones. So it turns out that arresting a fall with your elbow planted on stone is a good way to crush your elbow. As posted above, how you land is often more important than how high the fall is.

While this isn't my favorite theory I guess it could be a case where the whale referred to Tedd as a "dangerous rarity" because they know that some one like him will only be born either if magic is about to change or if there is a risk that magic will have to change. Being a harbinger of magic change would certainly classify him as a dangerous rarity.

Personally I do believe that when Elliot eventually checks his grimoire it will have grown so much that he'll just put it down and call Noha to see if he want to go shoot some hoops...

It could also be that the whales didn't try to hide, or perhaps they wanted him to notice them. The conversation sounded a bit like the whale were there specifically to inform Tedd about the magic buildup. But it's been a long time since I looked at those pages so I might be very wrong here.

And do we know that Tedd knows he has a Godfather, or that it's Adrian?
