As of http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=1817 Diane is aware that Susan may be her sister, but Susan so far has no idea that Diane may be related to her.

At some places the top is completely encrusted in salt grains.

Yes, before radar, back when detecting an incoming attack meant actually hearing or seeing the enemy aircraft with human senses, intercepting a large bombing campaign would have required an utterly impractically high density of defending airbases, simply because there wasn't enough time to intercept bombers a hundred kilometers away from your airbase if the bombers were already barely two hundred kilometers away from their target (London). This problem was what led to the 1930s philosophy of "the bomber will always get through".

Are all of the cheap copies used ones? If so, it's probably the publisher deciding that all new copies be high-priced.

I tend to just brush off half the salt when I get a pretzel.

And that sort of thing was mocked in Catch-22 with Maj. Major Major Major. (yes, his first, middle, and last names were identical)

Lucy and/or Diane might spot Tall Rhoda and think "Hey, that tall girl looks a lot like Rhoda", but the conclusion of "It's a girl who looks like and is possibly related to Rhoda" is far easier to jump to than "Rhoda somehow grew taller by more than a foot since we last saw her", unless they had prior reason to believe that Rhoda had magic.

Susan can definitely sympathize with the whole "attacked by a vampire because she has potential powers that she didn't even know she had" scenario, so her reaction is totally understandable.

I was under the impression that a shell contained a payload (explosive, incendiary, or whatever), and was not a solid slug, whereas large solid slugs were still called "balls" in reference to old-style cannon balls.

Why not the repetitively-named Arena Arena?

Ah, well my brother is essentially permanently a mental four year old, so he can't be left unsupervised or else he will do all of the hazardous things that a small child will do, in addition to being unable to care for himself. -
Call a doctor if you experience an election lasting longer than four days.

Yes, that's about what I was thinking of. (also, I made a typo--"Kantau" should have been "Kantai")
-
I would have difficulty visually recognizing that many colors--for example, distinguishing Goldenrod color from Saffron. I know they're both orangish-yellowish hues, but I don't know where the dividing line between them lies.
-
That reminds me of the anime of Kantau Collection, where the battleship girls have absurdly large shoulder-mounted gun turrets as their main weapons.

Try it with a plain tank top or something else cheap and expendable.

Ouch. My brother is on SSI (low-functioning autism), and they give him about one thousand a month. -
Perhaps, but even though Diane has concluded that Susan may be her sister by blood, she seems to know very little of Susan's history, which would suggest that they have not discussed their possible relation. For example, she expressed surprise to hear from Nanase that Susan was either never put up for adoption or had never learned that she was adopted.

$480 is less than half of what it would cost for a single room with no private toilet anywhere within two hours' drive of where I am, unless you like living in the really dangerous areas where it's not safe to walk around. -
The question is of whether they could hold him--you'd need something that suppresses his powers (or drives him to constant distraction) in order to prevent him from simply exiting the physical plane to escape.
-
That would be perfectly normal for Clark . . .
-
Ok, now I'm imagining Rhoda carrying a little purse that holds literally everything that she would ever want to have handy, all reduced to doll size.
-
If that is actually how that woman looked, then there's a substantial chance that said woman is Diane's mother.
-
It'll show up just as Rhoda and Catalina start thinking that they're safe.

Ones where you can do nothing to avoid the trigger are especially annoying.
