All we need to do is construct a Dyson sphere around a young and stable red dwarf and set the whole system adrift away from all the galaxies in our local group.  We should be good to go for about a trillion years.

Big talk from the Pharaoh who had his pyramids stripped of marble and gold after a mere dozen or so centuries. Come back when you have developed the sustainable pyramid.

The night sky would be spectacular!

We'd be able to view the entire Milky Way galaxy in all of its glory, 500 billion stars burning silently in the sky.

That's something that really bugged me about the Stargate franchise: at some point in one of the series, the humans acquired the technology to travel between galaxies, and yet they never stopped to simply gaze at our home galaxy.

When we will have technology to build Dyson sphere, we wouldn't be content with one. Well, maybe we will send one or two such spheres away with those "meek" who don't need much ... but rest of us will close into such spheres only when the rest of universe will stop shining. Unless we will LEAVE such boring universe.

I would say they did, only not onscreen. Probably after going to toilet which we also didn't see.

Well, once there was a soap opera where a character near the end of the episode announced that he was going to the toilet. Between that episode and the next he got written out of the show. The character was never seen again.

Moral of the story: don't go to the toilet if you are on a TV show. It isn't healthy.

Certainly. Considering that most cases where we DO see characters on toilet in action movies is when someone will attack them there ...

Obviously, people still NEED to go to toilet. (Unless they are using transporters for it.) But, they need to be careful to go on commercial break, just like people watching the show.
