Can't really speak for Max as we haven't seen much of him outside of his interaction with Grace, but Jeremy seems like an easy going cat and would get along well enough with Catalina, Jeremy loves Susan after all. I wonder though, aside from Name Based Affinity for cat based spells, Catalina probably has had a natural affinity for cats in general, she might not have the ability to talk to cats like Grace can, but maybe she has a non-magic sense of how cats behave and such.

I was thinking more about Math trying to process the idea that he's fighting a guy transformed into a hot girl.
  4. NP, Wednesday September 21, 2016

It's possible she switches back to college coed again at some point while observing Catalina and Rhoda.
  5. NP, Friday September 17, 2016

How about taking it a step further and having Ellen zap Greg before the fight?
  6. NP, Wednesday September 21, 2016

Might not. That sucker is not a conversation starter for them. Been so long since his appearance, too. Brownie is a girl too or else Ellen might have felt even more awkward when she used her copy spell. But yeah, Elliot basically only met Catalina like 9-10 months ago comic time? Sure it's enough that Catalina was comfortable enough to kiss Elliot in an attempt to dispel rumours about him being gay, but I don't think Elliot would have invited her to his place at some point, and we know he doesn't talk much about himself or family. Unless it was something he mentioned in the review show, maybe, but I'm thinking he only focused on talking about the fact that he had a girlfriend, to avoid another case of a girl wanting to date him while he was already in a relationship.
  7. Story, Wednesday September 21, 2016

They might not have officially said anything, but I think when Jerry made his vow to Susan, considering it was as he was in the process of resetting it would be heavily implied that vows are binding agreements for Immortals even through resets.
  8. Story, Wednesday September 21, 2016

While I will give you the shapeshifting point as possible option for Immortals, my comment was mainly just a joke response to Pharaoh's comment about his teeth.
  9. Story, Wednesday September 21, 2016

It's just that one fang that ruins it.... Seriously, did he break the other one, or did his dentist have to remove it for some reason and didn't bother trying to find a proper match to replace it with?
  10. http://www.egscomics.com/?id=2250 Ummm..... Did anyone see this coming? I didn't....
  11. Story, Wednesday September 21, 2016

This is exactly what I said when Voltaire first showed up, he's saying he won't attempt to have Elliot killed but, aside from the attempt to provoke Elliot into attacking him, he's already set in motion an attempt that if it succeeds, Voltaire can just say "technically I already made that attempt before I vowed, it just took a while for it to conclude". The "have Elliot killed" does imply manipulating others into killing Elliot, which should prevent Voltaire from doing so, but at the very least it doesn't prevent Voltaire from harassing Elliot until Elliot reacts in a way that lets Voltaire kill him himself.
  12. Story, Monday September 19, 2016

It may be more of a battle of wits than an actual fight, Edward's a VIP in the world of the paranormal and has had prior experience with Immortals, he obviously knows a fight is what Voltaire hopes to get from Elliot and so Edward's probably going to try to exposit the heck out of Voltaire. Should be interesting.
  13. Story, Monday September 19, 2016

Verbal abuse can be just as harmful mentally as punching someone is physically, I think it's only been in the last 20 years that people have started recognizing verbal abuse and harassment as forms of attack. At least in the school and workplace.
  14. Story, Monday September 19, 2016

You know, Voltaire is quite literally being a bully here, he's targeted Elliot for reasons unknown but might due to his ego, manipulated others into doing harm to Elliot, and is now attempting verbal abuse to provoke him into acting, Elliot's dealt with bullies picking on others for years and that's always been his go to response for dealing with them. I guess there's no loophole that allows verbal abuse to be considered an attack and therefore Elliot would have justification to fight Voltaire or even cause the other immortals to take notice and force Voltaire to reset.
  15. http://www.egscomics.com/egsnp.php?id=514 Alright, so the first few pages of this part of the NP was just prior to Pandora seeing them and having her rant about Catalina's name based affinity.
  16. Story, Monday September 19, 2016

Chances are, if Edward attacked and Voltaire ended up killing him, the others would likely attack as well out of anger. Tedd would certainly want revenge.
  17. Story, Monday September 19, 2016

Yeah, I'm not sure if this is entirely "Plan CM" though, at least not Voltaire's appearance here. He's not only testing Elliot, but everyone in the room, what happens here may effect how they handle the other stuff going on. Edward has the most experience with Immortals, Voltaire likely knows this, I wonder if he going to try to do something that makes Elliot go against whatever Edward tells him.

    Fixed it for you.
  19. The Best EGS Faces

I gotta agree with Stature (who states it in their forum sig) that Susan's expressions during the "Identity" story are great. They're also followed up on the next couple pages ending with Diane's priceless expression.
  20. NP, Monday September 19, 2016

The reason why I wasn't sure about Dan's timeline for this story. I did notice though that in the commentary for this comic he refers to it as a "continuation of the previous storyline", dropping the "direct continuation" he had previously used in describing it. I had also thought it the first strip of "Escape" was a directly after Pandora's rant and decision to follow them around. But Dan wouldn't reuse the same panel in two separate stories unless he'd want to tie the two together. Maybe the confusion Dan should have been worried about wasn't for whether people would wonder if this was canon, but for the fact that he did say "Escape" was a "direct continuation" when there's clearly a bit of overlap.
  21. Story Tuesday May 17, 2016

No, Sarah did the the Boba Fett/Adam West bit in a Jeopardy style where she gives the answer first then attempts to give the matching question. Also, note in Dan's commentary. " Adam West would have perfected Boba Fett. "
  22. Things You Only Noticed On Reread

Pandora hadn't been introduced until after Grace's Birthday (and after Helena and Demetrius were) and she's become an important character in the comic. And for every appearance Helena and Demetrius has made, it's been related to their forgotten mission to keep watch over Elliot which they admitted was likely something they decided to do before their reset which would be the simplest explaination, but then you add stuff like Magus trying to get Ellen to zap Elliot, the fact that Helena and Demetrius awakened Nanase and marked Susan (and they couldn't remember why they were in France to begin with), and now they interfered with Voltaire's plans, Helena and Demetrius' role in all this seems a lot more complex.
  23. Immortal Alignment

Yeah, way back around the time I joined the forums (which would have been early last year, heh), I had made a theory that maybe Helena and Demetrius discovered a plot involving Elliot and they needed to protect him, they might have either been close to resetting, or in the process of resetting when the discovery was made and needed to work fast to try to prevent whoever was behind the plot from succeeding, they may have chosen to awaken Nanase whom they knew had the potential for great magic, and meeting Susan and the vampire in France was a coincidence in their favour. As it allowed them to set up 2 Moperville residents with the tools to help them protect Elliot, Nanase they knew was friends with Elliot in the Martial Arts class, and Nanase would be likely to call on Susan for help if need be. Of course it did end up being Susan calling Nanase but still it seemed to work out if that was the plan.
  24. Things You Only Noticed On Reread

Huh, it didn't occur to me that it might have been an Immortal that told Noah about Grace, actually, Noah said "All THEY told us..." meaning more that one person or Immortal broke the news to Noah. Could Helena and Demetrius been involved there?
  25. Story, Friday September 16, 2016

Grace might be fire proof, but she might not have survived the concussive force of the explosion, just like she wouldn't have survived Damien's self destruction if it wasn't for Nioi's intervention.
