  1. Story: Thursday, July 14, 2016

True, but still, Pandora's conversation with Adrian in the hospital certainly makes a lot more sense now. Adrian's dialog "my desire to fight has never been about killing, it's about protecting people and serving my country" had to have been something he learned from his father. And Pandora's dialog "...and putting yourself at risk for people who will ultimately wither and die is insanity." is likely due to her bitterness over the loss of Blaike. Basically her whole "lesson in mortality" is her saying "trying to help others will only get you killed eventually". You know Grace's speech about trying for better outcomes? I'm willing to bet Blaike felt the same way.
  2. http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=2213 If it kinda was difficult to hate Pandora before, now it's impossible. I'm almost certain that this is why Pandora seems to desperately want to keep herself from knowing the outcomes of events before they play out.
  3. Story: Monday July 4, 2016

I think Magus was referring to himself as Ellen's father in the similar manner that people were teasing Elliot about being Ellen's mother. Because it was Magus that amplified Tedd's emotions to get him to zap Elliot in the first place. Magus is Elliot's alternate because Terra, whom Magus was seem sparring with, is Tedd's alternate. Terra apparently developed her wizard powers as expected though. And hey, I'm finally able to post in this thread again!!
  4. Story: Thursday, July 14, 2016

That might be a little bit too convenient of a coincidence. But not impossible... Considering how much Pandora wanted Magus to get Edward to kill Abraham. If it really was just about preventing Abraham from interfering with Magus' plans later on, she shouldn't have been that mad at his refusal, sure you could say that she was upset about Abraham hurting Adrian, but it would explain the full tantrum she had if Abraham was also the cause of Blaike's death. Then again, if it was true, Adrian showed a lot of restraint when confronting Abraham, Adrian would have been around 10 years old when the monster, which does look like a werewolf, killed his dad, but he later on learned about Abraham and the diamond and probably could have connected the two. I think part of Pandora's insanity is that even though she's an Immortal with more power than most mortals, even at 166 years old she was powerless to prevent Blaike's death. She was too bound by the rules of Immortals and then further restricted herself so that she couldn't see the monster to warn Blaike. I'm guessing she probably blamed not only herself but the Immortals' rules....Hmm that would explain her plan for the "apocalypse" basically break all the rules so that not only Adrian can freely use his abilities, maybe she still plans on resetting, but if she happens to fall in love with someone again, then she would be able to protect them without angering anyone? Yeah I know it sounds flawed, but even with just allowing Adrian to freely use his abilities, it would get the other Immortals agry. I don't see Abner being in too much trouble, yeah he's a pawn, but he seems to be the type that will turn around and help the good guys.
  5. What Should Diana's Mark Be?

Unless she's trolling again.... I wouldn't be surprised if Helena and Demetrius visited Diane after she got home and offered to mark her. Of course that all depends of if they're capable of marking people, either due to their improper deaths slowing down their rate of relearning spells, or the fact that they're still technically too "young" to have the power to mark. If it's the latter, then Jerry 2.0 very likely wouldn't have the power to mark someone either due to him being more freshly reset.
  6. What Should Diana's Mark Be?

I wouldn't call that sensing, it was a dejavu moment from her dreams, whatever Disco Wizard showed her in the dream would make her take notice of Justin and Rhoda's back, so more like a nagging memory than a sense.
  7. What Are You Listening To?

We have a cat at the hotel I work at, 13 years old. Was living in my boss' house for a few years till he started marking his territory and pestering the dog so he was kicked out to the workshop out back. The past winter he lost a lot of weight and was just not very active despite eating everything he was given, turned out he developed diabetes and had to be put on a special diet and medication. Within a few weeks he perked right up and for the past few weeks he'd been catching chipmunks and mice, I've told him the squirrels are off-limits.
  8. What Should Diana's Mark Be?

When and where has she done this? Diane's seen, or at least heard about Nanase's tendency to float around the halls at school, but that's about it, she only guessed that Ellen has magic because of her association with Nanase.
  9. Story: Monday July 11, 2016

maybe half canon, while I would certainly believe the wooden sword, the armour seems unlikely since Blaike doesn't seem to be the armour wearing type.
  10. Story: Monday July 4, 2016

I think the confusion about the diamond stems from it's affect on Elliot's awakening, where Tedd theorized that Magic was confused about what it considered was a reflection of who Elliot was, all the diamond did was separate the curse from the cursed but left Elliot with the means to transform himself into a girl at will, which Magic was all "I think this is supposed to be like this?"
  11. NP Tuesday July 12, 2016

Yeah, I remember that in Thief, and then you went to play TES:Oblivion and Skyrim and you could poke someone in the eye with an arrow, hide and the NPC you shot if they didn't die from it, would eventually assume it was just rats. Also, shouldn't the date for this thread say Tuesday July 12?
  12. NP Wednesday July 6, 2016

Well, in Sister II Elliot states that he left his cellphone at home. So we at least know Elliot had a cell phone earlier. I wouldn't be surprised if both Elliot and Ellen got their cellphones at the same time shortly after Edward set up Ellen's cover story and the rigged lottery.
  13. Story: Monday July 11, 2016

I also think something like this is the case. That "frivolous playing with mortals" is not only something not really worth as legacy, but also likely to get boring relatively fast. Copy/paste from July 6th thread because it seems relevant here too. Blaike definitely had an effect on how she viewed Humans and such. Blaike taught her that she could get more enjoyment from not knowing what's inside a cave before you step into it. I imagine that way of thinking probably kept her sane longer past 200 years old because it wasn't just about getting an expected outcome as what it seemed like she was doing before she met Blaike. Unfortunately it's been obvious since the first time we saw Pandora, that it's gotten increasingly more difficult for her to do something with no expectations, she's basically got "I've seen it all" syndrome, but she still refuses to reset herself because she believes there's still something that can surprise her.

Has it been determined if the first few comics before the goo story were canon? Or just non-canon introductions? There were a few cases early one where Dan broke the 4th wall which should have thrown the comic out of continuity but didn't, biggest example being Matt and Rat during the first Sister arc which Dan apparently regretted doing later on.
  15. Story: Monday July 11, 2016

His hair colour might have been a recessive trait in Blaike, maybe one of Blaike's parents had black hair. Not sure how DNA works with Immortals though. Heck for all I know, that theory I made about Pandora suppressing the immortal traits in Diane and Susan could be wrong and she didn't need to suppress anything, the Immortal traits could just happen to be recessive in Diane and Susan, and Adrian just happened to have them be dominant.

Not just sci-fi settings, it happens in real life too, someone makes something with the intention of being a benefit to people and someone will use it for harm instead.
  18. Story Friday July 8, 2016

The only Issues I could see that might have caused a separation between Blaike and Pandora, aside from Blaike's death of course, would have been either other Immortals caught wind of the relationship and forbade it (could explain why elves are very rare, interacting with humans in such a way might be outside of the "only guide and empower" rule), or as is Pandora's nature, she got bored of the relationship. I don't think boredom is very likely though since she has shown that family is important to her.
  19. Story Friday July 8, 2016

Already been speculated from Uryuom eggs and Noriko's involvement, to my last one that speculates that Pandora birthed Susan and Diane herself making the girls Adrian's half sisters. The only issue being the lack of evidence of their elvish nature that Jerry should have been able to detect when he met Susan. Don't know if it's possible to suppress the Immortal essence in an elf to make them more human, given Pandora's age and power it might be possible, Jerry apparently couldn't detect Sarah's innate talent, I don't think it was because of his being in the process of resetting or else he would have said so living past the reset date does seem to have some benefit. Then again, maybe Jerry and those who would know (Edward) do already know, and have been keeping it secret until such a time it becomes an issue, sure Susan has already awakened, but if there was something else that would make her elven nature show. Like in Highlander, people have the potential to be born with the immortal trait, but if memory serves, that trait could only be activated by an untimely death, but if person lived until they died old age then they never become immortal.
  20. Things that make you worried.

Ever have Sheridans Coffee Liqueur? It's tricky to get it to layer with the cream on top properly but it's still a good shot liqueur IMO.

He also looks like a shorter, darker haired version of the bartender from the Detective Block NP. I'm pretty sure it's just that style of facial hair.
  23. Story Wednesday July 6, 2016

I've been using Firefox since Firefox 2.0, my issue is just happening with the July 4th thread, every other thread I go to lets me respond just fine. Could be, but the way Jerry described it, Immortals usually just take enough knowledge to know who they are an probably the time period they're in so that their basic nature doesn't go running off expecting things that don't exist anymore. Any extra knowledge, like Jerry's promise to Susan, was described as not being an actual memory but as if Jerry 2.0 had read a note left behind by Jerry 1.0. Any other "notes" could certainly convey that "if you did X then Y would happen" but the experience of doing it wouldn't be there and so Immortals would likely want to do it anyway, unless of course if was something like "don't do x, because y is very bad". For Pandora's case, I wonder if the chaotic role she chose is to blame for her feeling burnt out sooner. One can only trick so many people into doing wacky things in exchange for stuff before the method and reaction starts repeating. Blaike certainly bucked the trend with refusing Pandora's offers, but if that's all she did in 150 years then I would expect her to get bored relatively quickly. Immortals like Jerry probably switched things up over the years to get different reactions and outcomes.
  24. Story Friday July 8, 2016

I'm thinking she didn't go intangible because she had grown quite fond of Blaike and didn't want to abandon him, she was trying to warn him about the lion bear, but initially she was going to make him jump through a few hoops before telling him that. The fact that he rejected the offer surprised her because everyone else she had meddled with always agreed to her terms, Blaike piqued her curiosity as to what type of person he was, that curiosity lead to attraction, then to...well...we have Adrian.
  25. Story Friday July 8, 2016

I was referring to her adult form as being a MILF though I didn't want to outright say it in the previous post, but totally agree about the child form. So I guess there really isn't anything bad about it.
