Van's a seer as well though, if Noriko is his mother, it's likely she would have used a magic analysis wand on him after he was born as well, either Van wasn't scared by the wand like Tedd was, or the wand wasn't noisy like Edward's or maybe, she must still have had some concern about Van's ability to defend himself when she first tried to teach him to cast spells and he couldn't.
However, the guilt could have come if Van gave the same results as Tedd, but later on she realized just how ever Van could resist enchantments and maybe figured out that could be the case with Tedd as well. That would make her feel guilty about the way she treated Tedd as defenseless and useless as an apprentice without giving him a chance, she'd also believe that it's too late to go back an try to reconcile things since she had started a new family.
For the most part I do agree with that reasoning for her leaving Tedd in the first place, but it was also probably the biggest conclusion jump someone could do.
Let's see, failure to realize the wand was being resisted, failure to realize Tedd could see magic, failure to realize that Tedd was empowering the watches and not some fancy technodohicky he made, failure to realized Tedd's genderfluidity...

I'm really hoping Tedd has more to add to this, because at the moment if I were the WoM, I'd be questioning if humans can be trusted to handle magic at all and decide to make even more drastic a change based on that.

The only reason why Grace is the way she is, is because Dr Scuiridae's daughter Grace died in a car accident in the main universe, and so a grief stricken Scuiridae used her DNA in the Shade Tail Project instead of the intended Human DNA. The Shade Tail in Lord Tedd's universe got the intended Human DNA because Dr Scuiridae's daughter didn't die, it's possible the the Human DNA used might have made that Shade Tail more aggressive than expected, also apparently opportunistic and therefore likely ended up being a bigger threat than Damien in that universe.
But the really important part would have been a lack of Elliot, Tedd even stated that Elliot was there when he needed someone, so if Elliot wasn't around and somehow Shade Tail took on that role of guardian and "friend" then he might have been able to manipulate Tedd into doing things.

You see, this particular forum works in the following way. You take one or several frames from the EGS comic, possibly rearranging their order, and replace the text in the speech balloons with some sort of humorous meme or comment on life or the comic...
