    possessing Magus ≠ possessing Elliot.
Magus is appealing not because he has magic, as that would have drawn Sirleck's attention much earlier in the conversation, Magus is appealing because nobody knows him; Sirleck didn't show an interest until after Magus admitted he was alone, that Sirleck was the only person he knew in this world.
Elliot is entirely the opposite of that. he is surrounded by people who know him quite well that could easily dispatch Sirleck. The bodysnatcher likely won't make his move until after Elliot and Magus have parted ways.

Ashley comes off as relatively normal, if surprisingly open minded.
if anybody's impossible it's Elliot. the only reason he's not a mary sue is he has internally consistent limits, and his 'too perfect' personality and history are balanced out by his becoming a walking doormat around certain types of people.
case in point most people will never have even one amicable breakup, he's had two, and is still close with both his exes. how do you even DO that?!

Not sure if this is the right thread for this, but...
a couple times the idea of Elliot distancing himself from being identified as Cheerledra has come up, ad more often than not, the idea of Elliot turning into Cheerledra while someone poses as Elliot gets thrown around, usual focusing on Grace or Tedd mimicking him, yet i don't understand why they haven't gone with the obvious candidate:
    Ellen.
She has an ability that would let her copy Cheerledra rather than Elliot eliminating the inherent problem of someone seeing through the 'Elliot disguise' because there won't be one, Elliot will be the real deal, meanwhile she knows Elliot more than well enough to pull off acting exactly like how Cheerledra would. Even better, if her power includes copying secondary abilities, she can "accidently" get caught changing into Heidi after being seen with Elliot which would deflect attention further by making people focus on someone that technically doesn't exist and only a handful of people (Noah, Melissa, Justin, & Carol) have ever met, only one of which knows Heidi is actually Elliot. (Melissa, and presumably Noah know Heidi is an alias & disguise, but as far as I'm aware I don't think they know who's under the disguise.)

He's not THAT creepy. the 'mind control creature' thing has been something I've been reading about since i was 10 (Animorphs), It's long since lost it's creepiness. and other than having fingers for eyebrows being a bit on the weird side, there's not actually that much visually thats all that disturbing about him.

If Magus returning to the physical plane is an important step in Pandora's plan, or was prior to her argument with her son and the others haven't realized things have changed, then colonel whoever may think the most expedient way to derail her plans is to take Elliot out of the equation. he may be trying to work against her but operating on out of date information.

Sure, that is the most likely reality.
But where's the fun in that?  If it wasn't for the ban on time travel, I'd be working up a rationale for Greg being Grace's son.

While there is a certain logic to what your saying, you're trying to apply logic to emotions.
If that kind of thinking actually worked, Hack and I wouldn't have been getting mad at eachother over clashing views when drinking came up in another thread a while back.
Looking back on those events after the fact the people aren't going to see the logical sequence the events took, or the psychology behind how the different responses lead to each-other, they're just going to remember how it felt.

It still doesn't make any sense. With the amount of information we have the blond 12 year old with the baseball cap who frequents the comic shop is just as likely as Noah.
...gets about as much screen time too...

Just had a scary thought... What if that has nothing to do with the immortals, or with the aberrations skill at hiding?
how do we know Sirlec is the only body-snatcher in the area? Arthur J. Arthur has been pointed out to be acting oddly out of character...

Okay, I suppose you have a point there, but if the situation were that desperate i would expect more active effort towards recruiting individuals known to have powers. to go with your superhero metaphor, where's the JLU? The kids have been seen saving the day, it's shown up online and on tv, some of the incidents are weeks or months old at this point, DGB supposedly keeps tabs on them, and Susan has experience 'hunting' yet there hasn't been a peep in canon.
I dunno, maybe refusing to accept Xeno's theories is just me being cynical or stubborn, but they're full of holes and what if's, and every answer I've been hearing to those holes just raises more questions...
It just doesn't add up for me. I know there's nothing concrete, but at-least to me, It makes more sense for it to be false than true.

this explanation makes more sense than the innumerable egg theories, mainly because it doesn't involve introducing a rule seemingly for the sole purpose of breaking it.

Unfortunately, it is not always a three for three in the real world -- or for that matter, in games. I could certainly envision a gun you loot off some bandit or mook being in an atrocious state of maintenance, for example. What is that term, a Saturday Night Special?
One of my own favourite comics about how to handle guns may be found in the first panel of this Grrl Power comic.

on that note, supposedly intelligent characters in games doing trigger-guard-spins of pistols and revolvers as an idle animation is equally stupid.

Does Elija's comment on this page count as being wrong-genre savvy? i mean, he figured out something was going to happen, but assumed it would be a murder mystery...

Let me see. Tedd has a transphobic father who has repeatedly harmed him with heteronormative microaggressions. He no longer trusts his father, which is absolutely tragic but an all too common consequence of this sort of thing.
Sarah has a very unusual spell that would instantly put her on the map of not only the DGB but ANY intelligence organisation with awareness of magic. If she tells Mr. Verres about this, he tells the DGB. If the DGB finds out, potentially any mole in there may relay that to other intelligence organisations. Rinse and repeat. Once she lets that one out, she is a target for life. Or in very short form: Three can keep a secret if two are dead.
Ellen is very concerned for Tedd and is terrified that letting the old secrets about Tedd's mother out may -- may -- hurt him and set him back years of growth. She is not by any means sure of this but does not wish to take the chance.
Nanase is no longer staying silent. She is with Elliot in this.
Justin is not that close to Mr. Verres, and an earlier conversation between the two indicates that Justin is somewhat leery of fully trusting him.
As far as I know, Susan has no secrets she has withheld from Mr. Verres. She is at most respecting the requests of friends not to blab, which is not quite the same thing.
Grace does not have much in the way of secrets. She does, however, have a very strong attachment to Tedd. If Tedd asks her to be silent about something, she is.
I hope that answers your question.
