... well ... power surge could be described as empowering, but does delicate electronics count as mortal in the "immortals should only empower and guide mortals"? ... of course, it IS possible TF gun was destroyed by static electricity charge from Tedd.
  2. Story: Monday July 4, 2016

...Wow. I can't believe I never noticed how much Tedd and Terra look alike. Still, has it been confirmed by Dan that she is his alternate, or is it just highly likely? Not only it wasn't confirmed, also Dan get lot better in making people look differently since that comics, so it might've been just coincidence ... On that regard, note that Magus did NOT try to posses Elliot FIRST time. It's possible that he doesn't need Elliot specifically, just someone who was already cured by diamond - and Elliot just happens to be only one like that around. She couldn't break it DIRECTLY either. Not sure how could've she done it indirectly, but I don't have her level of experience on this regard, so ... Actually, if it was longer plan, it IS possible Magus caused the gun to break indirectly by making Tedd less careful when tinkering with it ... Or the gun breaking was not really integral part of plan. We don't know how many times he failed. Hey ... maybe the catgirl incident was one of his previous tries, but Sarah ruined it by waiting instead of using dewitchery diamond to cure herself - wait, when did the incident happen? Was Magus already around?
  3. Story: Thursday, July 14, 2016

... unless it's hereditary Well ... she might be right on this. But Adrian would rather die than not try, just as his father.
  4. NP, Thursday July 14, 2016

    Sound clear to me.
  5. Story: Monday July 4, 2016

... waaait. How could he break the TF Gun? I think he just used the opportunity of broken TF Gun to amplify Tedd's anger. I mean, the gun was likely broken even before Tedd used it on Elliot and that use "finished" it, similarly how it broke because of having too little power when Tedd transformed Sarah in "incident".
  6. Story: Thursday, July 14, 2016

Also, we have arguments next time someone tries to predict Dan will kill someone. ... we really need the timeline. Who's older, Adrian or Abraham (ignoring the fact Abraham skipped all those years, while Adrian spent most of them teaching). Voltaire is immortal and Sirleck is aberration, so no really men. Abner didn't really did anything that bad. Also, Sirleck's host is LITERALLY dead man walking. The connection is unlikely to be that easy. Obviously, there are other monsters around: Pandora might find out that the monster and Abraham are related using immortal methods, but Adrian didn't had that option and likely didn't invested that much time into it. While she certainly did blamed both herself and the immortal rules, there is no proof she could prevented that. It wasn't first monster Blaike fought, and the reason he lost this time might've been bad luck or something unpredictable. Unlikely. Either the monster is aberration and therefore valid target, or killing it would be TOO big problems to let her go with hand slapping. What MIGHT happen is her going on rampage and some other immortal restraining her before she killed the monster.

Or too much teaching. That would still mean he CAN reproduce. It's only question of time, and he have lot of it. Even if he would be literally only elf on Earth (which I doubt), he can just WAIT for some elf girl to be conceived and grow up.

Sooo ... when Dan dropped everyone into the sewers, did the game counted it as lethal or not?
  9. NP Tuesday July 12, 2016

Isn't the biggest risk the fact that if you keep it several second AFTER the person is unconscious the brain cells starts to die in big numbers?
  10. ... yes. Which was totally Deux Ex Machina. On the other hand, it's debatable why exactly should be shotting the beam of positrons against beam of electrons worse than shotting the beam of positrons anywhere else - it's not like the positrons are going to hit anything else than electrons. That was NOT originally meant as weapon. Note that while I can't find it now, Dabbler herself said that she's low on non-lethal options and she needs to build more. Yes. What I'm saying is that I think Dabbler used to operate under more lethal strategy.
  11. I think that fireball of her could do it as well.
  12. But Arianna might have different opinion. And the fight at restaurant ended with extremely low number of causalities. I'm sure if Maxima - or Dabbler - didn't really cared about lives of villains, they could easily kill most of them before they found out they are not really villains ...
  13. Story: Monday July 11, 2016

Yup. I think that's the reason why elves are so rare - most immortals will realize this BEFORE having the child. Certainly not all immortals
  14. NP Tuesday July 12, 2016

Considering how people can get brain damage from repeating hit to the head which DIDN'T knocked them out, I consider this extremely likely. More important question however is how often can this brain damage be lethal - and it definitely is much more than Hollywood would suggest.

Mine still does. And the "unlimited" plans would cost you more if you don't talk and text a lot. This will differ a lot based on location.
  16. Just because she has a , err healthy sex life, doesn't make her not a hero. Nothing she has done in the run of the comic would indicate any thing less than heroic status, unlike, say, Harem. In the comic, sure. But the fact she only now builds non-lethal arsenal suggests she's not a hero, she just plays one when on Earth. ... that, or the places she was hero previously weren't that bothered with hero killing villains.
  17. Story: Monday July 4, 2016

He has reasonable abilities, but he has demonstrated no wisdom and little intellectual flexibility. ... "levelled up" is the correct term. He didn't become wiser or more experienced. He just got more power.
  18. NP: Friday, July 1, 2016

Well ... it's actually more complicated. The kernel, XNU, have Mach as the base, but uses FreeBSD (since 10.5, previously 4.3BSD) code to provide POSIX interface, processes, networking, virtual file system code and lot of other stuff. It's significantly modified but still similar enough for code sharing. The low-level user space code also uses parts of BSD. BSD was selected instead of linux precisely because BSD licence allows this kind of things - using linux would force GPL on the whole project, probably. Note that BSD was base for NeXTSTEP, Ultrix, SunOS and several other Unixes as well, so it may actually be hard to build non-BSD version of UNIX without reinventing the wheel ... remember that in 1980s, there was only TWO versions of Unix: BSD and System V. Afterwards, they started merging.
  19. Story: Monday July 4, 2016

In that same comic Abraham did say he thought the Diamond had a will of its own... Abraham the idiot apprentice? I think Raven is more qualified. Also, Diamond finding cursed beings can actually be explained by magic flair for drama.
  20. Story: Monday July 11, 2016

Half-Immortals could also be infertile "mules" too... That was basically the previous hypothesis. Yes, both are possible: half-immortals are either incapable of having children or forbidden to have them.
  21. NP: Friday, July 1, 2016

Yes. Android contains linux, while Mac OS and iOS contains BSD. And even Windows are using TCP-IP stack from BSD, and who knows how many other bits.

Considering WHAT they are saying into those phones, the phones are likely special FBI phones with high encryption using the network for data only and paid by FBI.
  23. Story Friday July 8, 2016

But there was none in other direction yet - in fact, while EGS features in multiple crossovers, none was acknowledged in EGS canon. They fit quite well to MULTIPLE folklore, I don't think there is anything special about jinn. Immortals in EGS likely played the roles of Greek gods, English fairies and Arabic jinns, as well as many other. ... if you think so ... we have nothing pointing existence of anything bigger than immortals in EGS, except magic itself of course. I still consider most likely that she simply didn't wanted to lose the first-hand memories of him and/or Blaike. But on the other extreme end ... note that we can't be sure if she CAN reset properly without Adrian dying.
  24. Story: Monday July 11, 2016

... except the fact both Adrian and Pandora are on this side of Earth now. But, well, yes, it IS possible Pandora changed side of universe ... so far, nothing she's done is specific enough to tell what set of rules she was bind by. It's not common, but if it would be forbidden, other immortals would already interfered. Also the fact there are specific rules for what half-immortals are allowed to do suggests that their existence is allowed. But yes ... half-immortals having children MIGHT be forbidden ...
  25. Story: Monday July 4, 2016

Are you talking about the same diamond Raven recommended to sell to pay someone more skilled and throw into volcano? Raven didn't seem like someone who would do that to something intelligent.
