Obviously I could be wrong, but I really don't think Edward knows about Tedd being a seer or even having magic except for the ambient magic as power source and some kind of intuitive grasp to ensorcel the watches; I think that he truly believes his son is magic impaired and has decided to accept his son as he "is", and hasn't bothered to research Tedd; perhaps doing what could be seen as the opposite of what Noriko did.  I think that this colors his perceptions as well; he sees Tedd as needing protection, to the point of coddling him.
Of course, as I write this, I see the flaw in this argument about Edward not researching what makes Tedd tick.  A lot of what Tedd does shouldn't make sense to Edward.  I absolutely can't imagine he wouldn't have had the glove analyzed and tested (discovering it doesn't work for anyone else), unless Tedd never told him about the glove, but then Edward would want to know how Tedd makes the watches.  Also, an intuitive grasp of magic?  Shouldn't that be investigation worthy?  But I really feel like he has kept Tedd away from anyone knowing too much about what Tedd does, to prevent Tedd from being poked and prodded Dad's Government Business.
Hmm, so, in conclusion, I have argued myself into a corner.  Bottomline, I don't think Edward knows that Tedd is a seer, and I would bet the Feds don't know much of anything about Tedd at all.  If Edward has researched Tedd, I bet it has been clandestine and off the books.

This is the attitude that promotes so much drivel with the justification that 'it is a good story.' Helicopters on the Moon (vacuum? what vacuum?), 'historical' fiction where lack of research and basic comprehension are handwaved with 'but in my world, it doesn't work that way' and sparkly vampires that attempt to replace romance and emotion with stalking, abuse and codependency.
I am fully aware of the fact that one can make a good story based on "what if magic worked" or "what if J.F. Kennedy had shot Lee Harvey Oswald first" or the like. But merely because this is possible is not a license to ignore all facts, physical laws and historical events if one considers them inconvenient. The more you do so, the less convincing your work becomes until in the end it is the sheerest idiocy.
Mind you, at times idiocy will sell quite well. That does not make it any less idiotic.

That's what makes it so weirdly endearing. I love the fact that her character combines genuine love and affection with a twisted view of the world and a need for excitement. It's a mess but it's one that I have to love.

Pandora just became one of Tedd's favorite people. She's a mother who's stayed by her son for centuries.

    Forgot about that.

On a different Elliot note I want to point out that he is developing in a    way that his unpredictably can surprise EVEN ELLEN. All while still feeling completely in character. I don't know about anyone else but I like this.

When I think about it, it does not sit right with me.
If she was leaving because she wanted to protect Tedd, by having anyone who looks on from the outside think she doe snot care for him, but still cared they would have taken steps to help prevent Tedd from developing his abandonment issues, and Edward would have told Tedd the truth once Tedd was aware of Magic.
If she cared about Tedd they would have done things in a way so in Tedd's mind he knew she loved him and cared, but circumstances were keeping her away.
Now, people lie to themselves about their reasons for doing things all the time, and this might be the lie Noriko told herself to feel better about leaving, but it does not match with her actions. There is also the coldness between edward and Raven, as well as Raven admitting that there is no chance of reconciliation, if she left for Tedds own good these would not be as bad as they seem.

I did not see that coming.  I thought Tedd would be needing hugs but it looks like Pandora is the one who does.  Tedd reaching out to Pandora doesn't surprise me.  As you said, he is a protector/healer who is at heart a tremendously sensitive soul.  What has surprised me is how much strength Tedd has shown in hearing hard truths about his life.  Really, his parents as well have underestimated him, even Edward who should know him best.  I get it, the desire to protect can blind you, but Tedd, with the help of his friends, especially Elliott and Grace, isn't the bomb waiting to go off that Ellen fears.

If Noriko just couldn't get past Tedd's "magical impairment", to the point that she was scanning him so many times he developed a complex about it....then leaving may have been the best thing she could do for him.  Better to be raised by one parent who could accept and support him, than to have a second parent in his life who was constantly disappointed in him and unable to hide the fact.  Adrian may even have been the one who eventually told her this, thus being the reason there was no chance of Noriko and Edward reconciling -- because it would have been at Tedd's expense if they had.  It's easy enough to say "Noriko should have just gotten over it and accepted Tedd as (she thought) he was, but if she just couldn't do it, then better to go.

Given that it is fantasy that gives us the power to hug Tedd, it is also fantasy that gives us the power to bitch-slap Noriko. And since it is fantasy we can do so without reprecussion

Dang, so he straight up resisted the wand.  So just as Pandora said, he has power galore but has to empower a wand to be able to cast a spell?  Unless it's his mark, I guess.  Does that mean he started out awakened or does that not even make sense for him?
As for Noriko, I am angry at what she did, but sad for her and Tedd.  She missed out on getting to know Tedd and Tedd grew up thinking he was no good.  But if Noriko isn't ready to see Tedd's value beyond being a wizard, he is better off without her in his life.

She'd be speaking from experience though. She can't excuse her actions, but she's at least trying to make amends.

I think Pandora is also thinking the same though, like "this doesn't excuse how your mother treated you."
The fact they they didn't know that Tedd was a Seer, and that even as a baby he had the power to resist scary sounding wand, doesn't instantly relieve them of wrongdoing. Edward might have just scanned once and left it at that, but Noriko basically tormented Tedd.
It'd be like a nature photographer trying to get pictures of animals acting naturally while being in their face the whole time, they're not going to get natural acting that way.

Mph. A well-meaning transphobic parent can still do harm. But at least Edward cares.

I want to write something about Noriko back then but it would emerge purely in the form of obscenities and pejoratives. So I am withholding my opinion for now, hoping that new information will emerge that will make me despise her less.

    * said Foundation will be closed if future events change prespective of Noriko.

That's one way to read it, another way to read it is she left Tedd because he wasn't good enough, then went on to have a child who was good enough. (In her mind at least) That being said I am completely open to the possibility that the as the story progresses we will come to sympathize with Noriko. This is simply how I feel about her at PRESENT.

Amy: Then why am I here?
The Doctor: Because...Because I can't see it anymore...
    Amy: See what?
The Doctor: I'm 907.  After a while you just can't see it anymore.
    Amy: See what?
The Doctor: Everything.  I look at a star and it's just a big ball of burning gas, and I know how it began, I know how it ends... and I was probably there both times.  You know, after a while, everything is just stuff.  That's the problem, you make all of space and time your backyard and what do you have?  A backyard.  But you, you can see it.  And when you see it, I see it.

Pandora was angry with Edward because she thought he cut Adrian out of Tedd's life. But I don't believe Pandora has ever brought up Noriko. I may be channeling Agent Wolf now, but why is Noriko not dead now? A mother who deserts her own child? I think it's a reasonable conjecture that if Noriko didn't have another child, Noriko would be dead.
