Q&A Friday March 15, 2019

Oops didn't intend to post -
http://egscomics.com/comic/qa8-03 I was among those looking forward to the New Q&A comics I am still awaiting New Q&A. Using an entire comic to rehash one point makes me think Dan is desperately trying to address a certain group of commenters. Specifically, those commenters who insist that the linguistic opinions they pronounce are only correct answers. And we all know how useful and productive you can be when debating internet "experts". And what's the story behind the Goblin?

Locks are a powerful psychological deterrent. An impressive looking lock may keep an intruder or thief from even attempting to enter. On the hand of the other, that shiny new lock you install may blind you to the other gaps in your perimeter defense. Circe "knew" that the crypt was protected by magic. She was so certain of this that it simply did not occur to her to breach or bypass any barrier through mundane means.

AARUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Have completely misunderstood how Grace's telekinesis works! This feels like failing the mid term and now I need to go back over the entire EGS Semester or I won't stand a chance on the finals. And I was hoping to get a job as an EGS tutor...

Well, there goes my plan for discount travel. By the way, was it ever determined beyond a reasonable doubt what kind of "Fairy" this "Circe" represents? 1. An EGS Immortal because "Fairy" is what they called themselves a long time ago? 2. Another type of magical being because, even though the different cultures used different names, the modern understanding of the English word "Fairy" could be (to some degree) an acceptable description for any of them?

As I said, Squirrely Dan...

You and several other stout adventurers find yourselves in a generic room with a Barbarian Scientist and a Wizard Lawyer... "If only some champion would help me discover the Incantation of Sanitation. My mother once possessed the Sacred Scepter of Sterilization, but she lost it when she tried to use it the wrong way against my father." Maybe she DOES know who is behind her. After putting her in the "Barbarian" costume, do you think Amanda would be at all concerned if the Battle Axe accidentally hit Squirrely Dan?
-
http://egscomics.com/comic/tsos-48 Well, Edward took this better than I expected And I'm sure it was completely accidental that Grace had her adorable squirrel tail fully extended while delivering bad news. Certainly not an attempt to appear more sympathetic and harmless to someone berating her.

If Circe can "magic" them a free way back? Next week on EGS:NP? Circe will fly to where ever she can meet Diane, in Business Class, while still shrunken Nanase and Sarah ride along as carry-on luggage. Still better than Coach.
-
Grace was nice to Sam and has decided that she likes him. If Sarah ever tells Grace that she thinks Sam is keeping secrets or otherwise hurting her, Grace will quickly change her opinion.
-
http://egscomics.com/egsnp/nanasecraft-59 So Sarah is modest to the point of being prudish. At least according to Tedd in early comics. Unless, of course, she is distracted by something sufficiently cool. And even though he was he "official" boyfriend for the better part of a year, Elliot never saw Sarah undressed. The implication is staggering. In Sarah's opinion, Elliot is not sufficiently cool.

And on the flip side, how much has Edward told Tedd? Dan has already announced a Q&A series coming up. Would this be the kind of information to be revealed through narration rather than dramatization? -

Just realized. If memory serves, this is the first in-comic confirmation we have received that Edward now knows that Tedd is a Seer. Which means that all our speculation of how the two of them would react when this fact was revealed has just been glossed over. -

Sketchbook Tuesday March 5, 2019 (Evening Things Out)

Always suspect the nonchalant person. Real people are always at least a little chalant. -
Grace, you're just giving him your number without telling him you live with your magical boyfriend and his magic-police father? Somebody is bound to hear something on the other line. And that will lead to the Shenanigans you were trying to avert.

Fairy Ashley has obviously learned from watching James Bond movies. Anything the "Hero" is carrying might be a weapon or some other useful tool. And don't forget to take the Walther PPK before you reveal your elaborate plan and then leave him alone in your utterly inescapable deathtrap.
