A point regarding Lord Tedd's title: Andrea and Tara thought Nanase should be royalty based solely on her powers - and she's Awakened, not a Wizard. What would they think of a Seer? My guess: Tedd would be at least minor nobility - a Lord - solely by virtue of being a Seer. Quite possibly in the upper ranks of nobility and on a royal council. Of course, we have no reason to think that Lord Tedd is from the gryphons' world... but I doubt that their world is the only one with a magic-based class system.

If the US had not gotten involved in World War I, the Nazis probably would not have come to power. (Or, more directly, if the British and French negotiators at Versailles had either been sane themselves or listened to the British team's economics advisor John Maynard Keynes. Keynes ended up walking out on the negotiating team and in 1919 published an economic history of Europe from 1920 through 1935 or so. Said history was substantially correct. He predicted economic ruin in Germany, continuing until the emergence of a German dictator like Hitler, and a war in Europe even worse than World War I.) As for Japan... in World War , Japan declared itself allied with Britain and attacked China which wasn't involved in the war - the third time since 1890 it had attacked China. In 1931 Japan attacked China again. In World War II Japan declared itself allied with Germany and attacked China which wasn't involved in the war. Some people think there's a pattern here. Some suspect that if Hitler hadn't endorsed the Japanese alliance and responded to the Pearl Harbor attack by declaring war on the US, then the US would quite possibly have stayed out of Europe; alternatively, if the Japanese had again declared itself allied with Britain, perhaps nobody would have cared what they did to China (and there wouldn't have been so much stress between Japan and the US).

But Apple's plugs and sockets are very obviously not USB. B&N (or their designer/manufacturer) went with connectors that look exactly like the USB micro-B connectors on other non-Apple tablets - but aren't.

But if Tedd were to use a want to cast Guardian Form (ambient-energy version) on someone who has no magic, then at least one of the restrictions (the 24-hour-minimum magical burnout) wouldn't matter.

Hint: the U stands for "universal". Non-Apple Phones in particular are EXTREMELY standardized; they are virtually all USB2.0, and their sockets are universally micro-B because that's the smallest. Any USB2.0 cable (or, let's get real with the labelling, any USB cable that isn't USB3.0) with the micro-B socket, that isn't from Barnes & Noble*, will do for charging - and if it isn't a power-only cable, it will also do for data. * B&N noted that the Nook Color would need a 2-amp power supply, rather than the USB standard 1 amp, and decided it would be better to have a standard cable not charge the device at all than to have it charge the device very slowly. And the jerks made their non-standard cable VERY hard to tell from a standard one. I'm not aware of anyone else making that particular bad decision - even devices that need 2 amps to charge properly use standard cables - and B&N may or may not have since wised up.

By "someone" I would guess you mean Tedd? If so, then the answer is: not currently. However, with practice and training, maybe.

It would be silly to assume we've seen every instance of Tedd studying his friends' spells. But we DO know that he has seen and studied Nanase's fairydolls, and I'm pretty sure he's seen and studied Susan's too. The latter definitely have offensive capability. The former are, at a minimum, good for scouting. Considering that Ellen and Nanase beat Not-Tengu by superior knowledge of the local situation, it's obvious the gang is aware of the value of knowing what's going on. He's studied Sarah's spell as well, and it would be useful for the same purpose. We also know that he's seen a number of Elliot's shapechanging spells. The combat advantages of those aren't obvious - but even living with all the restrictions, a physical weakling male could become an extremely muscular female far more capable of hand-to-hand combat. (Unfortunately, probably not including any relevant skills. But how about someone who had such skills and is now debilitated by age or injury?) It's likely but unproven that he's seen some of Nanase's, Elliot's, Ellen's, and Susan's other spells. And some of his dad's.

Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Sounds to me like you're getting too high a dose of Lyrica, at least initially after taking it. Maybe talk to your pharmacist or the appropriate doctor about the viability of cutting them in half and taking three or four halves a day. Or getting a lower-dose pill. Or the former until this bottle runs out and then the latter. (Note: I am not a doctor or pharmacist. With a situation as complex as yours I recommend - for any side effect not obviously life-threatening - talking with an actual medical professional before making changes.) -
We know Noriko was alive recently enough to be the next-to-last to have defeated Tengu. (Ellen and Nanase are the last to date; and at that point he got captured and locked up.)

It's used in a lot of places to describe someone who is probably significantly less powerful than an all-out god (particularly in a monotheistic universe) but considerably more powerful than a master mage. Put it this way: Pandora is extremely powerful. As compared to a human wizard she has near-infinite power and extremely wide-ranging abilities. But she's constrained by (among other things) the laws of the universe she lives in. A god is even more powerful, and can alter those laws.

Also at least some "vampires" kinda-maybe count as people, and it seems most immortals want them dead.

Tell her that the cats will never learn to speak proper English if they are always addressed in babytalk.
-
And I was guessing that Ellen would be able to copy enchanted forms, but probably not powers (in general - there is at least one exception, at least under special circumstances).

Some gas pills are to suppress gas; some are to get the gas MOVING so it gets out of your system and stops causing discomfort. (Of course, once it's out of your system it can potentially cause a different sort of discomfort for several people).

Oedipus generally gets a bum rap. In terms of what HE knew, he killed some well-dressed idiot who attacked him on the road for no apparent reason, and agreed to marry the widow of a recently-deceased king because that was one of the conditions under which he was offered the job of being a city's king. Nothing at all about his father or his mother. Not even realizing that the well-dressed idiot and the recently-deceased king were the same person. The dots got connected later.

In most cities where I've seen a lot of bicyclists, that would be a GOOD day. On bad days it's more like 99%.
-
Or if Ellen got a variant/update of the Copy spell that allows her to also copy abilities (perhaps only to herself, not to paste them on someone else).

Most people who've tasted frankincense would put it at or near the top of that list.

I suppose I qualify as one of those also - the scent promises that the stuff will be merely unpleasant, but when I take a sip it's disgusting.

Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)
Don Edwards replied to ProfessorTomoe's topic in Off Topic Discussion
An uncomfortable and unexpected change, with no known cause? Since it's sufficiently non-severe that you're taking time to ask, it is probably not ER-worthy. But doctor-worthy, sure, particularly if it persists for a few days or continues to grow. On the other hand, if you describe it to someone who actually knows something about medicine and they say "go to the ER", then do so. -
Cookies in general are not inherently magical, but Akiko has a cookie-based magic affinity. </sillyspec>

That, and Ellen's occasional semi-agnostic prayer. Oh and an occasional mention that might offend some religious folk - for example...

The problem with just hydrating is that it can throw the balance of some other chemicals off and make you feel lousy. But you still need the fluid. I've heard it said that "if Gatorade or Pedialyte actually tastes drinkable, then you really really need it." Maybe supplement your water with an occasional bottle of one of those. -
