  1. The Association Game

    Far Far Away Idol.
  2. Story Wednesday March 16, 2016

What a way to drag out this conversation before giving us a real explanation, Dan. You have my respect. This is hilarious. I absolutely love how Tara is the strong one and Andrea is the smart one. It would, of course, be even better if Fluttershy or Pinkie Pie were fighters, but I'll take what I can get. Agreed. Looks like the vampire was just a plot point after all and doesn't need any more explaining. This is what I thought of as well. Tara and Andrea are not from a different universe or dimension. It is exactly like they've said, they are from the first half of this world. The halves are connected by magic, but are otherwise very different from each other. As for events on one side affecting what happens on the other, the first thing that came to my mind was the Distortion World in the eleventh Pokémon movie. Destroying something in the Distortion World would also destroy something in the Pokémon world and destroying something in the Pokémon world would create poisonous gas bubbles in the Distortion world. (I obviously haven't played as many video games or watched as many shows as you guys, so please excuse me constantly bringing up the few I have.)
  3. What Are You Ingesting?

Dark rye bread. It tastes pretty bad, but I'm used to it and it's healthier than any other bread.
  4. Videogame Thread

I've completed my 4th, 5th and 6th Gen Pokédexes (not counting every event Pokémon). It took quite a while, but I did it and I'm quite proud. However, I believe I won't buy Sun and Moon. I've played Pokémon for most of my life, ever since the first Gen came out, so perhaps it's time for me to find some other hobby.

Eeyup. In the commentary of the very first page of this storyline. I dunno. Some Earth ponies are very odd (Pinkie Pie) and since they can't use magic, they're good with science (Doctor Hooves).
  6. NP, Wednesday March 16, 2016

I don't think they're based on any characters from the show, they're simply themselves ponified and that's just fine with me. Also, I'm glad that Dan didn't make them all unicorns even though everyone in the Main Eight can use magic now. So far we know that Grace is a unicorn and Justin, Sarah and Ellen are Earth ponies. I'm pretty sure that makes Elliot an Earth pony too, considering how Ellen was created. That leaves Tedd, Susan and Nanase. Nanase is a powerful magic user, so she should probably be a unicorn, but hey, she can fly, so she could be a pegasus. What do you guys think? As for Tedd and Susan, they are most likely either unicorns or Earth ponies. It's impossible to have an even number of three races when there are eight main characters, so it really doesn't matter if there is only one pegasus in the Mane Eight. Oh wait, Nanase has blood of queens inside her. That means she is an Alicorn. I'm pretty sure it's just a metaphor and Sarah is breaking the fourth wall a little.
  7. What Are You Ingesting?

Pistachios again. Why must they be so expensive...
  8. The Association Game

    Ice Age: The Meltdown.
  9. NP, Wednesday March 16, 2016

Yay, ponies! It's been a while since Dan's last MLP reference, so this was a nice surprise. I'm not sure if I agree with Dan's coloring choices, but they do look quite nice anyway. And now we know that Sarah and Ellen are Earth ponies like Justin. Too bad their Cutie Marks aren't visible, though. Anyway... Still no Tedd? Did Dan forget his promise? Or will the next page show what Tedd has been doing this whole time? I hope so.
  10. The next NP story

I have a feeling she'll be playing Pokémon.
  11. STORY: Monday March 14, 2016

Of course the Vampider had been a vampire long before Andrea arrived in this half of the world. We know she arrived to investigate an "energy clog", not to kill an Aberration. However, perhaps she saw the Vampider during her investigations and decided to keep an eye on him until she got a good chance to kill him. Also, the rules for Aberrations include the fact that even though Aberrations look monstrous, at least some of them look like that only when using their powers. Hmm, yes, that is a good point. Maybe vampires can only sense hunters and not other threats? Tara said that Andrea is not a fighter, after all.
  12. NP Monday, March 14, 2016

Not all of them. We know there were at least two people who were nice to Grace before Damien came - Dr. Sciuridae and Mr. Guyur. We know that Sciuridae treated Grace well, but it was precisely because of that that the other scientists figured out that he had replaced the original human donor's blood with his daughter's blood and had him transferred. Grace also described Mr. Guyur "nice, in his own way" and we all know what happened to him.
  13. STORY: Monday March 14, 2016

All Aberrations used to be humans before they chose to become vampiric monsters to prolong their lives. It's true that the Vampider might still have had a human form, but for some reason I find it unlikely. I could be wrong, though. Maybe we'll know if it turns out that the Vampider was the reason why Andrea stayed in this half of the world for so long and not her poor sense of direction. She must have observed him and saw him change form (if he could do that) if she knew about his existence before tonight.
  14. Poll: Your Favourite Main Character

Looks like Susan is winning, just like I knew she would.
  15. Videogame Thread

    Tobyc started with a Piplup.
  16. NP Monday, March 14, 2016

Yeah, that sounds about right for evil scientists. Still, I suppose it's slightly better than letting a young girl be naked all the time, even though they really should have explained it to her.
  17. Story: Friday March 11 2016

Yes, and after Raven said the thing about magic and heredity not always being straightforward, Noriko replied that "it always was for my family".
  18. STORY: Monday March 14, 2016

I just hope Susan and Diane will meet before Sarah and Sam's date. I know it's unlikely that their date will last as long as this one, but still. That might be exactly what Wildcat meant. Or not. Hey, a few panels of redundant information skipped is a good thing. It saves space for answers, even though I know that it will still take many pages before they're out of questions.
  19. Last Post Wins

Is it blueberry pie? That's my favorite.
  20. The Association Game

    Garfield and goldfish.
  21. NP Monday, March 14, 2016

    I hope you're right.
  22. STORY: Monday March 14, 2016

Time for answers! I just hope that the next page will skip Ashley telling Elliot all those things Diane told her to tell him, so we'll get to hear the griffins sooner.
  23. Story: Friday March 11 2016

I realized it was a stupid thing to hope for soon after I posted it. If hereditary magic really makes a mage more powerful and the most powerful mages are royals, then it's obvious that the griffins consider pure-bloods better than other mages. I'm not quite sure why you brought up summoning, though. If royal mages are as powerful as the griffins claim, then they most likely know summoning spells or other spells strong enough to kill Aberrations. However, I'm sure that not all mages who can summon are considered royals. Diane seems to have the same affinity as Susan, and she was called a potential "hunter" by both Tara and the Vampider. If I had to guess, I'd say that hunters are elite soldiers and/or bodyguards of royalty in Tara and Andrea's half of the world. Tara is a knight, but she may also be a hunter herself as well. Um, didn't Noriko say exactly the opposite? That hereditary magic had always been very straightforward in her family? I understood it meant that her entire family had been mages for generations. Also, Edward is a wizard, or at least a very talented mage. Noriko seemed to take it for granted that Tedd would one day become her apprentice because of his parents' magical abilities. She didn't know what to do when Tedd appeared to be a Squib. However, I'm not saying that Noriko is prejudiced against Muggles. We know literally nothing about Nanase's father, but I agree with you, if he is a Muggle, then it certainly didn't prevent his daughter from learning magic. As for Akiko, we'll see. The Princess Nanase cometh, behold, behold...

Clever squirrel. Even if she doesn't mind Edward seeing her naked, clearly he does mind it and has warned her against it. Edward is overall pretty cool for an MIB, but it's his house and his rules. I still wonder why nobody ever told Grace that she shouldn't walk around naked before she met Tedd. Were those shady scientists she grew up with massive creeps or something?
