Yeah. They should've remained on their island oh wait they couldn't Sauron was teasing Valar from it so long they sunk it.
"Sees everything" ... well, yeah, but just one thing at once. Delegation and redundancy, that was missing.
... fantastic idea. And it means the golem will want to kill half of main cast for same reason, so perfect reason for conflict spawning hundreds of pages - oh wait this is supposed to finish quickly.
    WAIT.
If we combine the "Uryuom inspiration" theory and "blasphemy" theory ... the golem is from the same religion which passed laws forbidding the CMD which was reworked into TF gun on Uryuom home planet. And we though it's just throwaway joke! Instead, we will now get the full explanation of issue, just like hammers were explained in hammerchlorians.
That's so good idea I would almost excuse it for the inevitable "both Uryuoms and fairies were influencing ancient legends as if only one wouldn't be much more reasons for it than necessary".
... maybe there was even war. We don't know if Uryuoms are protected by immortal law, do we? And fairies DEFINITELY wants sex change shenanigans ...
Edward: "You mean you KNEW about immortals"?
Lavender: "You mean immortals are fairies? They are still around?"
*picks communication device*: "Code 31, starts evacuation immediately, I repeat code 31!"

Technology is getting damn uppity. Even back when I was a kid I felt that clocks had too much power over our lives. Now they come right out and tell us to take a hike.

There's a tail, or part of one on the golem, I don't think there should be any more doubt that it's design was at least inspired by Uryuoms.
As for what hit it, looks like Ellen's beam, did she wake up on her own? Maybe from the power the golem sensed? That would at least save Magus the trouble of worrying about her having any ill effects of being magically woken up....though would there be other side effects to being maybe infused by more power?
If it's not Ellen though, Abraham? Or maybe Paranormal Division has arrived? And what did the golem remember?
Derp...I totally skipped the third panel on the first read, that totally was Ellen waking up to Ashley's scream, and would have zapped the golem on reflex probably.

Well, so far the artifacts we've seen haven't been too dangerous, I mean it's quite possible the golem could be reasoned with, the wand doesn't seem murderous either, and the magpie is probably mostly annoying. Of course the golem might have reacted badly to getting hit in the head with Kevin, but it might also have seen Ashley as someone trying to protect Ellen (which technically she was) so the golem might consider Ashley's "attack" a case of misunderstanding and try to communicate with her. Getting attacked by the Magpie though....might produce different results.
Also, according to Dan's commentary, the Magpie was created during the most recent magic system, and within Arthur's lifetime (and the main 8's parents were likely babies/children as well). So it would have probably be classed as a useless object like the Diamond was, rather than an inert one. Thinking about it though, Kevin might be from the recent system as well, at least from the earlier period like when Abraham made the diamond. So for those artifacts, it might have been more the commotion that trigger their activation rather than old magic being accessible.
Ashley's probably going to find herself surrounded by artifacts that want her to be their master, the thought of so much power over magical objects was too much for her.

I'm reviving my theory that Helena and Demetrius are the "friends" that Edward enlisted in the investigation of Pandora and her "Egg/Hawk" warning.
Magus' arrival into the main universe was several months before Susan and Nanase's trip to France, Helena and Demetrius were chasing Magus, the whole "you do not belong here!" stuff would have been because the nature of Pandora's warning gave the impression that Magus was a threat that needed to be dealt with. Of course Helena and Demetrius would have been taking the "shoot first ask questions later" but if they had reason enough to believe that asking wouldn't get anything...

It's the sort of place where they argue about stuff like whether 'Akhenaton' should be spelled with one or two flatulent ibises.

That kinda proves the fact that Human's take inspiration from previous examples, you got H.G Wells coming up with a description, where he got that from though, was it truly conjecture about how Humans could evolve, or did he himself take inspiration from other examples in order to write his stories. My point is that other media took that description and used it as inspiration for other works, Dan most likely used that description to create Uryuoms, it stands to reason that if Humans in EGS could base religions on Fairies acting like Gods, they could also base other works and such on interactions with Aliens, especially since EGS has both sci-fi (aliens, alternate realities) and fantasy (magic, fairies) elements then Human history in EGS should likely have a mix of both.

Magus could still feel like he's had to give up a lot in order to be successful, he may have spent a number of years convincing himself that this is who he must become if he wants to be great. A lot of people fall into the trap of hiding things about themselves rather than embracing them, but it's usually because of their own perceptions of what other MAY think rather than what others WILL think. You say Magus has been hurting because he's been forced to become something he shouldn't be, but shouldn't Terra also be suffering from ridicule and such for choosing to stay female in a male dominant career? In Hidden Genesis, Terra looks confident in her abilities without having to change sex, so either Terra's done a better job of handling it, or Magus is seeing issues that aren't actually there. Remember, Magus has argued with someone over the pros of becoming a man to be a battlemage, it's safe to assume that one such conversation was with Terra, but what if Magus has had to argue this point more than once and with other people? It'd seem more like he was trying to convince others that this would be the best course of action, even though it doesn't have to be. Maybe he's taking flak for that. Our Tedd for a long time assumed that transforming into a girl was just a natural thing that anyone who had the ability would do, and even used the excuse that it was like a vacation, but you remember when he found out about what being Genderfluid was, it was like a weight was suddenly lifted off him. Elliot's had issues with being introspective but has been getting better, it's quite possible that Magus is suffering from that lack in introspection as well.

I'm not arguing that what Magus currently believes is in Ellen's best interest is valid, but even Dan has been saying that Magus isn't currently in the right frame of mind after having spent nearly 3 years in limbo and desperate to get out, there's a lot of anger and he's jumping to conclusions using obsolete information. It doesn't make him right, but there's hope that he can be convinced of that and this can all be settled without violence or anyone dying.
The Dumbing of Age comic has had 3 major events that involved a date rapist, who once exposed tried to silence the people who exposed him; an abusive controlling father who even after being divorced without custody, still felt that he had say in what his daughter could or couldn't do with her life; and a fanatically religious father who believed his homosexual daughter could be made straight again and even entered the university grounds with a shotgun with the intent of forcing her to return home.  All three instanced ended with the men needing to be hospitalized after getting the snot kicked out of them by either the people they were trying to hurt, or friends of those people.  I'm rather sick of stories like this ending in violence and while the men in the DoA cases deserved what they got, I'd rather it not be the resolution in Magus' situation.

Well, it's not as detailed as I'd like, and it wasn't where I first heard it (as I wasn't even reading EGS at the time), but back in 2004 Dan said that the Omega form was not a legion form. We know it's not a form she got from the TFG since she was surprised by it, so by process of elimination it has to be one the forms she was born with.
EDIT: Actually come to think of it, I don't think we saw Grace showing surprise at the form. Still, she chose the Jeremy form earlier in Painted Black when breaking into the Nest, and Tedd had never seen the Omega form prior to her using it when mopping in the After Party, which I think does support my assertion that Grace didn't know she had the form.

Especially considering Magus/Ellen not only modified Ellen's beam so that he wouldn't be turned female when zapped into Elliot, but also modified the diamond to keep that form, and not make it a duplicate Elliot body. Why would he go through to trouble of doing that if he wasn't male.

    Ooooooh....I just realized something else.

When Abraham tried to kill our Ellen, Nanase convinced him to swear not to hurt her. Abraham's exact words were "I solemnly swear to never harm Ellen Dunkel". What do you all think Abraham might think if he walked in thinking Magus was a threat only to find out his name is Ellen Dunkel?
