Maybe someone could ask Dan to keep the link, but change it to "UNofficial forums"?

If you want to have a bunch of hidden vampire-hunters scattered around the country untraceably, shipping them to different cities and putting them up for adoption would make them harder to trace.

There aren't many places in the world other than on a closed track, that you could drive at 260 MPH for 20 minutes without encountering conditions that cannot be handled safely at that speed.
Those few places tend to be distinguished by the scarcity of people. Why drive a show-off car in a place where there's nobody to show off to?
They also are sometimes distinguished by fuel stations being 87 or more miles apart. Which means you drive 260 MPH for 20 minutes and then walk to the gas station so you can carry gasoline back to the car.

Since all the major shopping areas are about 30 miles east of us, we went 50 miles west to a beach in Ocean Shores, WA.
For several years in childhood I lived in easy walking distance of open-ocean beaches, but my lady didn't, and neither of us has been to an open-ocean Pacific beach in decades. Also, there's a good size storm that at the time was about 80 miles offshore.
We just stood there watching the waves for maybe 10 minutes. There were tears on her face afterward.

A line used in several different contexts on another forum I frequent: I'll start thinking that maybe it's a crisis when the people who are telling me it's a crisis start acting like it's a crisis.

At certain times of year, the two expressions are synonymous.

Overturning the Heller decision. Continued support for Obamacare. Continued arming of non-police federal agencies. Continued warmongering. Continued massive immigration. Continued non-enforcement of laws regarding illegal immigrants. Will that do?
(As Clinton herself said, "before it was known as Obamacare, it was known as Hillarycare". The Washington state legislature enacted Hillarycare in 1993. It was obviously bad by the end of the year, and obviously horribly bad by the middle of the next year. In the 1994 legislative election, most incumbents who didn't publicly pledge to repeal it were voted out - replaced by people who did make that pledge. The 1995 legislative session DID repeal it, and replaced it with a system that seemed to work passably well - until it was replaced by Obamacare.)

That kind of firepower, even in paintball, would have a serious risk of being lethal. (Drowning the target with so much "paint", if nothing else.)

Wild guess: Liz gets a permanence spell. Nobody noticed for months because there are special conditions on when she can use it: she has to be near an enchantment or summon. Then she can make that enchantment or summon permanent.
Wild guess is probably wrong because it's pretty much the opposite of conspicuous. At this time, our favorite Faux University psychology student wants conspicuous magic.

You don't write much fiction, do you?
I get into conversations with my fictional characters quite often. And I've lost several arguments with them.

KEEP ALL YOUR NOTES AND DRAFTS!
Ask yourself if you don't actually have multiple stories in progress at the same time. It's perfectly feasible and acceptable to do so.
(I have two books and a moderately long fanfic in progress... and interrupted all three to start-and-finish a short fanfic, which refers to some events in the long one.)

Yes, I believe Sarah could cause fake-Box to appear and carry on a conversation - and fake-Box would say something Sarah would plausibly guess Box might say.
No necessary, or even non-coincidental, connection to what real Box would actually say.

Ever dressed a manikin - or a fourmonth-old who didn't want to get dressed? Dressing (or undressing) another human figure that isn't actively cooperating is NOT easy. Dressing yourself is much easier.

You know, those old manually-activated acoustic modems did have a valuable auxiliary use... (But I only ever applied it to robocallers, not to humans.)

So an even better way to make that determination is to watch via a remote camera while someone else applies said test.
