That's actually one of the images I had in mind when I said I'd rather see Susan herself instead of some sort of distorted version of Susan.  Going out in FV5 or some other "enhancement" is like going out in a costume, putting a barrier between those seeing you and your real self.  In this NP, we get to see Susan as she really is, and that makes it more intimate even though she's only taking off one item of clothing instead of all of them.

Lucky you.  It's been snowing pretty much all day here.  Sometimes big fluffy flakes, sometimes tiny little icy specks, almost always blown by too strong and cold a wind.  I think it's finally stopped, leaving our cars in need of scraping and brushing off yet again.
Isn't it the second half of April?
I can't complain, though, because whenever someone else has complained, "What happened to spring??" my reply has been, "This is spring!"

Hooray!  Susan is more comfortable with herself, and we get to see a character who is actually still that character instead of some distorted version of that character!  To me, at least, this is a more significant, more intimate image of Susan that a naked-but-FV5 "Susan" would be.  And I also like her blaming/crediting science.  ;-D

And with the box now open, a high-strutting bullfrog with a top hat and cane enters the scene singing "Hello My Baby".

CritterKeeper got a reaction from The Old Hack in Things that make you sad.
There have been several stories about services and ceremonies held by Jewish congregations and organizations in memory of the Jewish victims of the Holocaust.  The reason this makes me sad is, while they repeatedly declare they will NEVER FORGET the six million Jews who were murdered by the Nazis, and no one else should either, they seem quite happy to forget all about the other six million victims, the disabled, the homosexual, the Romani, and all the other minorities that the Nazis were equally diligent in trying to wipe out.  Not one mention of the fact that there were any other victims, that anyone else suffered and died.  You would think if they're so determined that everyone remember what they went through, that they'd be a bit less quick to forget others who went through the same thing and are doubtless just as unhappy to be forgotten.
It was especially blatant when reporters cited a recent study that said that something like 22% of Millennials thought only 2 million Jews were killed -- and not one reporter nor anyone they interviewed made any mention of whether they knew about any of the other victims, or pointed out the lack of their inclusion in the study if that was the problem.
If you wish not to be forgotten, the most important step to take is to remember others.  It holds true for individuals, but I believe it holds true for groups of individuals as well.

This is so important. Thank you for saying it. For example, the mass murder of the disabled is so often erased or glossed over. They, the Rom, and so many others deserve to be remembered.

Mph. As a kid I never did see the attraction. I was the social outcast and responded in the very mature way of taking pride in never doing what the other kids thought was cool. Drinking was one of these things.
Also, my mother was an alcoholic and drank enough to ruin four lives. This led me to a conclusion I have not once had any reason to change. If I don't begin, I don't have to stop.

It's a little late for me to be noticing this, but one of Dan's big premises for the New Year's Eve Party in Family Ties is Diane's sister Rhea not letting her drink until ten minutes to midnight when she turns 18. But the minimum drinking age in Illinois has been 21 since 1980, and before that it there was only a seven-year period when the drinking age was lowered to 19.

Here's one. In most AUs we've seen, there's an Ellen or an Elliot alternate, but never both. Is there a universe with both? If yes, are they twins?

Yes, I can see this.  If he hasn't been exposed to the right kind of anime, find some with flying combat or throw in some superhero genre stuff.  With enough exposure he will work out an extension system of flight-based martial arts.  And probably also develop some sort of flying ability as well.
Either that or find a way to steal a copy of the curriculum from Magus' universe's magic schools.  Hmm, Beta Tedd's dimensional scope would have been helpful in that respect.  Hmm, by now he might have developed an interdimensional internet browser, then you could look up the appropriate alt-universe youtube instructional videos.

Let's see...based on what we've seen in the canon....
Susan was openly outspoken against the school uniforms from the moment they were announced, tried to get others to join her protests, and readily accepted that she would be punished for it.  She might well have been an open dissenter.  Which would mean she'd probably end up somewhere from ostracized to killed, depending on the regime.
However, there is a darker possibility.  Susan also bought into her mother's militant male-hating version of feminism for years, letting it shape most of her actions and associations.  I could, sadly, see this potentially applying to a Nazi type view instead, in some alternate universe.  Susan might embrace the tenents, approving of the BDM's encouraging girls in athleticism, job training, and education.  If the Nazi views took the place of feminist views in this other Susan's life, then she might even embrace the goal of women being helpmates and support staff.  However, just as our Susan changed her views when presented with evidence to the contrary, this alternate Susan would eventually see through the Nazi propaganda and indoctrination, and once she did, she would accept she'd been wrong, and find some way to fight against it.  Only question would be whether it would be openly or underground -- Susan isn't so good at subtlety or dissembling, so I suspect she'd be open about it, and again, likely getting ostracized and eventually killed.
What about Nanase?  She spent years following along with her mother's wishes, being an excellent student, trilingual, dressing conservatively and not protesting the homemaker role too openly.  However, when her mother wasn't around, she began changing into clothing she knew her mother would disapprove of.  I could see Nanase being a good little BDM in public, but rebelling in the shadows, possibly joining some sort of fifth column group.  If she knew Susan in this version, she might even be able to get her involved more discreetly once she discovered her change of heart.

If I may make one small request?
    NO HASSELHOFF!
And if it isn't too much trouble?
    NO HASSELHOFF!
Now what was that other thing?
    NO HASSELHOFF!
    Please?
    NO HASSELHOFF!
Although KITT (the 1982-86 Version) is always welcome.

Indeed, given how great an influence Grace has had on Tedd, and that General Shade-tail likely still shares all but one parent with Grace and their meeting may have been equally momentous, it's quite possible this Shade-tail is meeting some of the needs Elliot fills and some of the needs Grace fills for our Tedd.

It's the same thing that confused (and then squicked) Grace -- most people in our society seem incapable of seeing someone naked or scantily dressed without putting it into a sexual context.  If not for that, there would be no more problem with less-aestheticly-shaped people being naked or scantily dressed than there would be seeing them more heavily clothed.

I have been a longtime fan of the comic Erfworld. I have followed it through many ups and downs. I have been a Patreon for it for a while and have always loved it.
Rob Balder, creator of Erfworld, just posted the news that his wife has been diagnosed with liver cancer. They are taking up the fight but it is not looking good. I know all too well how that is. One of my closest friends died from liver cancer less than two years ago. I still vividly remember his long hard struggle.
Erfworld is going to continue at a reduced level of activity but that is the least of things on my mind right now. I am not sure even what to think. This... hit me harder than I can offhand explain.
    Damn it.
