I'm obviously still waking up, for a moment I thought Rhoda was talking about her neck collar and believed that Catalina and Rhoda talking about it would somehow trigger Catalina's spell. D'oh.

Well in the first panel the people appear to be college age so the chances of them connecting the dots is low, but in the second panel aside from Catalina and Rhoda, the other 3 appear to be attending MNHS and have heard of Elliot and his reputation in school. So on that page, there is potentially 6 people that believe that Elliot is Cheerleadra, and 3 of them were willing to give an interview to Carol. I'm sure we'll see Justin shortly, but yeah, if you look at the day before (So a Date, Playing with Dolls, Question Mark), only Grace and Justin were unaccounted for. If it wasn't for Dan showing us that Pandora went back to Sarah, Sunday would be tied with Saturday.

Oh I totally agree, but Rhoda might not think that she could have an advantage, she can be pretty timid especially when it comes to getting attention from lots of people, it's why she changed her look after Pandora's appearance on TV. Diane and Lucy likely got most of the attention from the guys. Though if Rhoda was open about being gay, there might have been a lot of requests to see her kiss Diane or Lucy, which likely wouldn't go over too well with them.

Doesn't seem to be, the catnapping was only due to her bad sleeping habits (staying up late, getting up early, etc) before she started school, Once school started for her (and I would imagine once her and Nanase became a couple) she would have kept better sleep patterns.

Either that or an MC Hammer tribute Stop! Hammer Time!

I think she'd been having more fun with Nase and probably managed to avoid getting into confrontations with offensive people. But yeah it's likely knowing what the hammers were intended for originally that put her off using them, unless to actually defend herself with.

The page prior to the "defective" comment, had Diane not only say "he won't buy us stuff" but added "he'll scare off any guys that would", that basically states that Justin being gay would be detrimental to Diane's goals if he were to hang around with them. Rhoda could certainly misinterpret that that believe that if Diane found out she was gay, Diane might think Rhoda would be detrimental to her goals as well. That's why I think that Rhoda is worrying for nothing, Diane knows that Rhoda found a new friend, she even knows her by name, yet Rhoda's been evasive whenever Diane's asked about meeting her and when Diane asked about the avatar picture, Rhoda's response produced an "uh-huh" remark from Diane. Diane's great at deduction, there's no way she hasn't figured it out by now that Rhoda and Catalina are more than just friends, why Diane hasn't said anything about it is hard to say, maybe she'd rather Rhoda tell her when she's ready, or maybe Diane thinks she doesn't want anyone to know and end up like Justin if word got out. Justin, Ellen and Susan attempted to do that when they found out about Nanase being gay. I don't know

Susan only just got that watch, like an hour or so before the Elliot's date with Ashley, though that doesn't really make any difference for Tensaided, he's probably going to be assuming a lot of things about Susan, Elliot and their friends.

I still say Rhoda liking girls is only a secret Rhoda doesn't want Diane knowing about, this isn't a case of Rhoda being afraid of being outed like Justin was, Rhoda's parents already know, it's more like Rhoda being afraid of not being accepted in Diane's circle anymore, Rhoda was there when Diane criticized Nanase's suggestion that she'd sit with Diane if she let Justin sit with them as well as well as called Justin defective, so that would certainly have an affect on Rhoda not wanting Diane to know.

Good Tom being marked was foreshadowed (was it foreshadowed? Or just blatantly shown) by the fact that he could sense puppies in danger. I can't remember for certain because the thread that would have been associated to the comic in question was on the old forums but I want to say there was a fair bit of speculation that he was marked. After the speculation that Ashley was Pandora in disguise wore out, speculation that Ashley had magic started to take root, this NP kinda shot that down. It's possible she could still get magic, though the chances are slimmer with the things that are currently happening in the main story. The one that no one expected to be marked was Liz, and we don't even know what spell she has, we just know that it was not what Pandora had in mind, but still could be helpful with something. As for hijinks, hmmm, well apparently Catalina knows about Rhoda's ability to shrink and enlarge, maybe after getting marked, the two goes somewhere to have fun with Rhoda's spell (dressing room perhaps) and while doing that, Catalina comments about how it'd be nice to be able to do stuff like that which triggers her freshly marked spell. Maybe she goes full on cat mode like how Grace can go full on squirrel, and runs around the mall like that.

I would think that Wolf's statement of "Legendary monster hunter with a long family history of fighting monsters and evil wizards" would be enough to make Nanase believe that it magic can run in the family. Also in terms of how Mama Kitsune was raising Nanase, initially she apparently wanted Nanase to excel at everything but expected Nanase to be a housewife, maybe it was how Mama Kitsune was raised as well, but maybe she was doing so as a front, like she wanted Nanase to think she was expecting her to be a housewife but really Mama Kitsune was preparing Nanase in case she ended up gaining access to magic. Notice how after the events of Sister II, Mama Kitsune never again brought up the housewife discussion, yeah she did switch to judging Nanase's relationship with Ellen for a little while but even that has dropped off once she saw Nanase and Ellen helping people, I think Mama Kitsune has realized that Nanase's path is set.

I'm not sure if she perceives that as sexual harassment, but she's definitely thinking "WTF are you talking about!?!?!"

He likely has never seen Ashley before so it's possible that he would be thinking that if Elliot could transform, then Susan might be able to transform. Tensaided might ship Elliot and Susan together just as hard as another hardcore shipper, and come up with all kinds of ways that Susan and Elliot could be together, like having one or the other transform to make it look like they're dating different people.

Gee, could they see Susan as someone to alienate them from the child they raised? Diane would probably wonder about this question. Why? It's not like there were hiding that she's adopted. Also, they stayed in same city. Diane's parents likely don't know the circumstances of why Diane was put up for adoption. They probably do understand that there's a chance that Diane could have biological family somewhere and wouldn't object to the idea of Diane meeting them some day, especially now that she's 18, there isn't really anything they can do to stop her, heck, probably when it came around to telling Diane about being adopted, she might have even asked if it was possible she could have family somewhere.

Yeah, that's my thinking as well, she knows enough about Immortals that any description that fits what she knows of them (though it's quite possible the witnesses also heard Tara and Elliot mention Ancients and Immortals and Elliot's comment about an Immortal convention) would make her ask Pandora about it, especially when Pandora mentioned the fact that Immortals could hide themselves from other Immortals unless they want to be seen. Sarah could have responded with "well there was apparently several that made themselves known at the mall earlier, did you know anything about that?"

Especially considering Grace asked Dr Sciuridae to stay in touch after the events of Painted Black. I would imagine he's checked in to see how she's handling school and most likely got in touch on Christmas.....Hmmm, I know the past Christmas was more focused on Elliot and Sarah and their breaking up, but there might have been a missed opportunity to have given us an update on Grace's family for the holidays. I know it's only September, but I wonder if we can get Dan to diverge from his tradition of doing Ellen+Nanase Christmas sketchbooks to do a Sciuridae family Christmas photo or something.

It's possible she went to bed before the news about what happened at the mall hit. That brief moment where Sarah is revisited by Pandora didn't really suggest that she was aware of what happen either, at least not in terms of Elliot being involved. Carol might have got the call after she left from dinner with the family, or she hadn't left yet and didn't say that there was a Cheerleadra sighting in the mall. The again Sarah was probably preoccupied with thoughts about her own spell to notice Carol leave. More evidence to suggest that Sarah didn't know would be because Pandora had been watching her pretty much all day, yeah it's possible Pandora might have had a nap during dinner, but Sarah didn't ask if Pandora was responsible for what happened at the mall.

I'd say it's more of a rear projection TV.

I knew it, Tensaided immediately suspected that Susan would be in the know, though I didn't expected him to...I'm guessing he believes Susan is Cheerleadra's sidekick? Did he think Ashley was actually Susan in disguise or something? I mean sure it makes sense that because Susan was the one that mentioned Elliot knows Cheerleadra, Tensaided would think "how would she know that?" which is valid, but he's just making assumptions now.

This is more to do with commentary than the actual comic. But on the page where "DGB" is established. Dan makes a note to himself to reference that comic in a future commentary. Now I could be wrong but I've checked a number of comics that could reference Edward's involvement with Grace and the only one that I can find that clearly shows it would be when Dr. Sciuridae was telling the truth about Grace. Of course it may also be the point when Dr. Sciuridae tells Grace that he and Edward agreed that Grace could stay at the Verres residence, but that agreement didn't happen until after Grace showed up, also Dan hasn't done any new commentaries past here so I don't know if he's forgotten about his reminder or not.
