  1. 10/27/18 - Halloween 2018

Happy Halloween from TheHeroesOfCRASH.com! Remember to Vote Blue, or Gritty will EAT YOUR SOUL. Usually, my Halloween fillers will include some nostalgic costumes, but there were too many cases of "I Couldn't Resist" with more recent stuff...! I absolutely loved Shuri in Black Panther; with her brains, wisecracks, and cool hand-blasters, she was easily my favorite character. Plus, she's canonically smarter than Tony Stark, who I think needs to be brought down a peg (Admittedly, that's largely because I still have a somewhat petty grudge against Robert Downy Jr. for his not-terribly-Sherlock-y portrayal of Sherlock Holmes). She's a VERY close second to Deadpool for my favorite Marvel movie characters. There was no way I was missing a chance to dress Enticia up as such an awesome character, even if her design was tricky to figure out, simplify, and draw. Titanium Maiden always goes as redheaded characters for Halloween, and I FINALLY saw the movie Brave this summer (and liked it). TM's Merida-styled hair was a bit less tricky than I was afraid it would be; I found myself blocking out the general shape first, and then doing the outermost strands. Cannon always modifies his helmet for Halloween costumes, and this isn't his first time dressing as a Mega Man character (He dressed up as Protoman for the very first Halloween filler!). Cannon and Acid Man (from the new Mega Man 11) share a similar color scheme, have bulky armor above a skinny torso, and wield a barrel-shaped arm cannon on their right arm. The resemblance is unCannony- er, uncanny! Every year, Belt Boy dresses as a superhero, and every year it's NEVER someone from either DC or Marvel! While the Big Two have come up with some great characters, a lot of my favorite superheroes are from outside their universes. Nearly all of Belt Boy's previous costumes have been characters with only one canon universe (making them easy characters to follow and understand), they tend to explore some inventive worldbuilding, and most of them have strong elements of humor. I haven't seen much of One Punch Man, but I would like to see more. I probably would have had BB dress as him last year if I hadn't chosen All Might. One more note: Belt Boy is intentionally trying to maintain his character's half-lidded gaze and small anime mouth. He takes his costumes seriously. Gritty is TERRIFYING. He looks like a Muppet with the dead eyes of a Five Nights at Freddies animatronic. As a Pennsylvanian with Philadelphian parents, I'm a little embarrassed for my own home team. But Gritty has a few things going for him. For one, the concept drawings of him look MUCH less terrifying than the actual mascot costume. And for another, Philadelphia's citizens have kinda adopted him as an anti-Trump mascot. I guess sometimes you have to fight fire WITH fire... or perhaps fight a nightmare-inducing orange monster with bad hair WITH a nightmare-inducing orange monster with bad hair. Being big and orange, I knew Unk was the perfect character to pull him off (And yes, those creepy eyes are glued to Unk's signature sunglasses). And finally, there's Miss Sunflower. This is only her second appearance in a Halloween costume (The first being Gozer the Gozerian). Everyone's been drawing Bowsette lately, and it was only a matter of time until I got into the action. People have been drawing her different ways, combining different degrees of Peach and Bowser's designs. Some make her look mostly like Peach (blonde, waifish, and almost entirely humanoid), while others mix a bit more Bowser into her design (giving her red hair, a bulky physique, and/or a more reptilian design). While I briefly considered drawing Titanium Maiden as a bulky, redheaded Bowsette, it didn't take me long to realize that Miss Sunflower - as a villain with actual horns like most Bowsettes - was a WAY better choice. Outside of her red hair, and her signature makeup, Sunflower's design is mostly like that found in the original Bowsette comic that started this meme (By the way, if Toadette becomes "Peachette", shouldn't Bowser become "Peachser"? I'm just saying...). One last note; I was originally going to draw a different Halloween filler based on the idea of there being unwanted attention at a Halloween party. In honor of The Heroes Of C.R.A.S.H. joining the Collective of Heroes, I was going to promote it by having some other CoH characters show up, with Cannon unsuccessfully hitting on the superheroines and making a less-than-stellar first impression. However, since it was pretty late in the game for me to ask permission to use characters, and I already signed up to do a Halloween art trade for the CoH, I decided it would be best not to start things off by biting off more than I could chew. You should still totally read the other Collective of Heroes comics. The ones I've been reading have been pretty great. And their Featured Comic for the week is- GASP! It's The Heroes Of C.R.A.S.H.! :-D
  2. TheHeroesOfCRASH.com When you threaten those close to Enticia and she brings out the glowy eyes, you KNOW you're in trouble. Enticia often comes across as self-centered - and maybe she deserves that to some extent - but she's fiercely loyal to those who can get past her seemingly shallow exterior. It's obvious that she's protective of her family (especially her little sister, Daisy), but this moment shows just how much she values her friendship with Belt Boy. However, it shouldn't be terribly surprising when you think about it. Enticia's allowed herself to be vulnerable to him and his team. She first opened up to Cannon near the end of The Dating Scheme. In the Van-Ishing Act storyline, she was forthright with Titanium Maiden about needing help, looking her in the eye with total honesty. Finally, after baring her soul to the entire team about her deeply personal origin story, she entrusted Belt Boy to take a blood sample from her (And you don't just trust ANYONE with drawing blood!). Makes you wonder if our main trio may even be closer to her than her boyfriends...!
  3. http://TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Unk used Bear Hug! It's Super Effective! Necros may be quick enough to backflip over Sugar Rush at a moment's notice (He might have taken the hit if Belt Boy hadn't felt the need to tip him off with his "phone a friend" quip), but he's not strong enough to break free from Unk's grasp, especially when Unk's tall enough to pick him up off the ground. And the party's just getting started...! If you clicked on my site, you probably noticed a new button beside the logo. That's because The Heroes of C.R.A.S.H. has joined The Collective of Heroes - a webcomic community for superhero-themed webcomics! If you click that button on my page, you'll be presented with some cool new webcomics to check out (NOTE: Some of them are quite a bit more mature than my squeaky-clean comic, so please be aware if you're at work or if there's young'uns around). I hope you'll give it a click (especially since I spent about two hours trying to get the button's widget to look right on my page!) - I highly recommend Grrl Power, Gyno-Star, and Miss Melee, all of which can also be found on my Links page with descriptions. Whatever you click on, give 'em a visit, and tell them that Josh from TheHeroesOfCRASH.com sent ya'! FUN FACTOID: My webcomic is the second comic to have been a part of both the 910CMX community and the Collective of Heroes, the first being Grrl Power.
  4. TheHeroesOfCRASH.com NOTE: I seem to be having trouble accessing my website and uploading the latest comic; I'm posting it directly to social media in the meantime. I'll keep you all updated as I work to resolve this issue. It seems that Necros didn't count on Belt Boy having more friends around! So far, he's only seen Cannon, Dodge, and Dino-Mo. He only caught a glimpse of Sugar Rush, mistaking her for Belt Boy in my May 12th comic. Necros also seems to have misjudged Belt Boy's acting skills; he's been cool as a cucumber this whole time. Well, most of the time - he figured Necros might be able to fight Dino-Mo, but he didn't count on that taser-glove. It was a bit of (sorry for the obvious pun I'm about to make) a shock. Now that Belt Boy has regained the element of surprise, how is he going to use it? Tune in next week and every week, folks!
  5. http://TheHeroesOfCRASH.com I didn't use an electricity pun for the title? Shocking! Belt Boy may be known for his gadgets, but Necros seems to have plenty of fun toys at his disposal, too. He has the Necrobots, smoke bombs, portal discs, and now taser-gloves! What else does he have up his sleeves? There were a few ways I could have drawn the electricity in the final panel. I decided to make it blue, so that the bright bolts would pop out against a darker shade of the same hue. I made the bolts jagged and cartoony, rather than being too fluid; I thought this looked more painful. There are some skinnier, fluid bolts on Dino-Mo's body, but they merely supplement the larger bolts for visual effect. By the way, remember how Ken Bailey won my Fanart Contest earlier this year and won the right to choose the next HoC desktop (and later did another picture of one of my heroes just for funsies)? Well, I'm still working on his request. But, I felt that while he was waiting - especially since he did that extra picture - it was only right that I do a drawing of one of his characters in the meantime (and besides, drawing other people's characters in my style is fun)! My version of EnergyGirl has a physique that isn't as bulky as that of Titanium Maiden, but she's still got more muscles than most of my comic's cast, male and female alike. Her eyes retain their basic shape, but has otherwise been tweaked to fit my style better. Her hairstyle is a composite based on several she's had in the past. I also made her three trademark freckles a subtle, dull brown. Ken enjoyed this, and I hope you do, too!
  6. Comic 9/22/18 - A Little Umbled Jup

TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Necros could probably do the slo-mo Matrix dodge, but doesn't respect most opponents enough to let them see a move that cool. While I've been trying to do a better job with my characters' proportions and anatomy, it's been more fun employing another art skill I've been working on: the Line of Action. A good example is that top right panel, where Necros is flipping Cannon and Dodge, causing them to travel in an arc. I get to break the rules of anatomy, turning Cannon and Dodge's arms into rubber and their legs into streaks as they soar across the panel. It's a lot of fun to draw and to look at. Initially, I drew Necros grabbing Cannon by his purple sleeve, but I changed it when I saw that it was easier to draw (and probably more practical) to have Necros grab him by his cannon in the following panel. I nearly let Cannon make a reference to "drain bamage", borrowing a line from Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, but I wasn't sure how to use that line so that it felt more like paying homage than stealing.
  7. TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Necros makes a deduction regarding Belt Boy's strategy. There's more I want to say about that, as well as some of the visuals in this comic, but that would be giving away spoilers, and as Cannon points out, no one likes a spoil-sport. So I'll just need to hold my tongue. It's no secret that I like to give each panel its own color to emphasize the mood or the character it portrays. Sometimes, I'll do what I did in today's strip, and have the colors slowly transition, from a dull red to a medium orange to a bright yellow. I even colored the arrows to support that transition. As one final note, I'd like to say that it's good to be working on story comics again. I've enjoyed my two-week vacation and setting up the contest with a two-part filler, but a month without stories is a long time, even when you only update once a week. Hope you're as happy to have my heroes back as I am!
  8. 9/8/18 - Cipher Contest Conclusion!

TheHeroesOfCRASH.com I'm finally back from my long vacation! It was good to get away from it all, but I'm happy to be updating my site again. I want to thank everyone for their patience, and to congratulate Twitter user StarSumiaki on deciphering the most coded messages and winning my contest! Here's the deciphered letters for everyone else, with answers at the bottom. My comic will resume next week! I was planning on having more heroes' letters, but to be honest, I was also having lots of fun on my vacation, and I was having trouble thinking of other locations that posed good enough puzzles. I was thinking of having Dodge be in Santa Fe, and mentioning his dads having enjoyed songs about it from Rent and Newsies. Wasn't sure what to do for Dino-Mo. I was considering having Unk spend his vacation at my favorite childhood vacation spot, but quite frankly, it's gotten too crowded in recent years and I want to avoid giving it any publicity. In any event, I wound up just doing the seven heroes, and that wound up being more than enough anyway (Only two puzzles got solved at all). I initially was going to have Dexter showing off postcards, but I wound up having B.O.N.N.I.E. showing off digital messages, like status updates. It allowed me to use different-sized text boxes, and I like how it suggests B.O.N.N.I.E. ran a decryption program. It was also fun doing emoji versions of my heroes (Probably inspired by my having played Disney Emoji Blitz earlier in the day).
  9. I think my comic explains it well, but here's the basic summary: 1. I'm going on vacation for two weeks, so I won't be unable to update TheHeroesOfCRASH.com until I return. 2. I'm holding a contest in the meantime. 3. I will post coded messages from my characters on Twitter; crack the code and send a reply tweet telling me what city/state they're in. 4. Send me the correct answer first to get a point. The Twitter user with the most points gets a drawing. If you want to get into the details of how to crack the code, read the comic. Good luck! Oh, and also, check out my comic characters' cameos at Sailor Sun Dot Org! It's on my Links page!
  10. TheHeroesOfCRASH.com If Belt Boy loves anything as much as justice, it's witty repartee - which, Cannon often reminds him, isn't pronounced "reh-party" (Actually, Belt Boy knows this; Cannon tends to tease his friends, but this is one way BB actually manages to annoy him for a change. ;-) ) I've been experimenting with poses and using the "line of action" in my drawings. What would normally be a pretty dull "talking heads" strip seems a lot more lively with Belt Boy pulling off silly poses, like in the last panel. A head's up; I'm going to be spending two weeks in San Antonio! There's going to be a filler up next week, and it'll stay up for the following two weeks. But keep your eyes on my social media, because I may have a little something for my readers! After my vacation, I hope to resume canonical strips on September 7th *knock on wood*.
  11. TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Belt Boy's back, and so are his bad jokes! And it looks like he's pushing Necros' buttons now. But does he have a cunning enough plan to back up his quips? I'm glad I added in last week's strip, which I hadn't initially scripted. I was initially going to cut straight from Belt Boy addressing everyone about having them as backup to this comic, but I felt that the story would flow better if the audience knew he had some sort of plan, even if they weren't entirely sure what it was. If I didn't have Belt Boy talking to everyone and had more of the story through Necros' point of view, perhaps I could have made Belt Boy's having a plan be a total surprise reveal, but not the way I was writing things. Gonna be honest; in addition to it being easier to do, I like the aesthetic of having one panel not include any background or borders, like I did for the third panel of today's strip. I actually did the same thing two story strips ago. I made a goof in last week's strip; I forgot to give Belt Boy his black eye and cut on his face that I'd given him for the last few strips. Oopsie! It's been corrected now if you check my site.
  12. 7/28/18 - Half-Congealed Plan

TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Necros won't see this coming, but Gelatin Boy should've. I felt that this was an important scene to put in; I previously glossed over the notion that Belt Boy was going to come up with a plan, but felt that something was missing, hence my filler from the previous week while I tried to figure out how to write in the new scene. There's a bit of foreshadowing in this scene as well, but I don't want to give too much away...! I'm pleased with BB's expressions and GB's posture... the only thing that really bugs me about this strip is that I realize I drew Unk too tall. Maybe I'll just say this is a subtly-angled shot and that he's a little further away from the foreground as a cop-out. Wait, can it still be a cop-out if I'm calling it a cop-out? Dangit.
  13. TheHeroesOfCRASH.com A filler featuring a Chris Van Allsburg-inspired project I'm working on. I think that the note on the side says most of what I have to say, but there's still room for some details. :-) A fellow artist suggested I self-publish my own 'zine of sorts, featuring comics and drawings outside of The Heroes Of C.R.A.S.H. Although I am working on a printed HoC comic, as well, this 'zine would be a bit cheaper, xeroxed and stapled by me, whereas the HoC comic collection I want to print will likely use a print-on-demand service. This 'zine would give me a chance to showcase some of my work outside my usual comic, and show off my range. Besides which, it's a nice brain stretch. I don't want to get too deep into my intentions with the art, because I want to leave some degree of ambiguity with the illustration. I will say that I wanted to draw a character that was less toony than my usual characters, but not entirely realistic either. I tried to channel a little Danielle Corsetto into this character (particularly with the shape of the chin), but somehow, I think I accidently channeled some Jeph Jacques instead - whose style, thankfully, is just as awesome. You can see both those artists' webcomics through my Links page! If you read the note on the side, you know that I've left an art prompt and a writing prompt for my fellow creatives: Either draw a different cartoon with the same caption, or draw a story to go with my drawing, using the caption as the first or last line. If you try out either prompt (or both!), please let me know!
  14. TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Belt Boy comes to a realization about what being a leader means (fairly literally!). One of my less-traditional layouts, as I tend to favor 4-panel strips in a 2x2 layout. If you count the bottom left panel as 9 panels instead of one, this strip has more panels than any other strip I've done, at a whopping 14! Speaking of that 9-in-one panel, that was especially fun to draw. I wanted to make sure that each mini-panel showed off its character through the background and his/her facial expression. Gelatin Boy is a bit nervous about Belt Boy's faith in him, and his background is based on the wobbly shape of his head. Dodge and Dino-Mo are calm, but impressed by Belt Boy's attitude, and their backgrounds show a flying dodgeball and a dinosaur fossil, respectively. Sugar Rush, as always, is enthusiastic and ready to help out her friend; she's got a peppermint swirl background. Titanium Maiden is feeling proud that Belt Boy seems to have gotten over his attitude problem from earlier and is showing his team proper respect, and she's thankful that he's okay; her background, of course, is her signature flower. Cannon's smirking as if to say, "About time you wised up, BB," as he sits in front of his purple-on-green stripe (His hand resting on the panel frame represents his tendency to break the fourth wall, by the way!). Unk is almost as pleased as Sugar Rush to help out a friend, but is a bit more chill about it, as he is regarding most things; his background shows off his shades. Enticia is moved by his attitude toward his team, especially as she's been reflecting on her own leadership abilities; the insignias from her "heartbreaker pants" (as I call them) are in the background. Jackknife, with his pointy insignia behind him, is doing that mock-gagging thing because he's sick of all this sappy emotion-sharing. And of course, in the last panel (or space between panels), Belt Boy and B.O.N.N.I.E. stand before Belt Boy's signature utility belt buckle. If you missed my announcement on the main page, I've greatly updated my Fan Art page! This includes two bits of fan art I got through social media this past week: Cannon by BigNoseBug on Twitter (a storyboard artist for the upcoming Thundercats cartoon), and Belt Boy by Ken Bailey (creator of EnergyGirl, and the winner of my last birthday contest)! Here they are:
  15. Comic 7/7/18 - Holy Llama Turds!

TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Gelatin Boy grows a spine... granted, it's still a gelatinous one. Sometimes your characters surprise you as you write them. Gelatin Boy wasn't initially going to stand up to Jackknife this early in the story, but it happened! There are times where I want to make my characters do something to fit the story, but they wind up pulling me in another direction, and it feels like this was one of those cases. Oy, after almost a month without my computer getting the freezies, it had a relapse. It took nearly 15 hours of rebooting over and over, followed by just one hour of drawing and coloring to complete the comic I had been working on all week. But I got it done and posted on Saturday Morning as I always do, if a few hours later than normal. Thank you for your patience! Reminding you again; if my comic doesn't update, see what I have to say about it on social media! If I don't have access to my computer, but can still access my social media accounts, I will always use that to keep you abreast of things.
  16. Comic 6/30/18 - The Trio Reunited

TheHeroesOfCRASH.com After nearly 1 1/2 years and 61 story strips apart, Belt Boy, Titanium Maiden, and Cannon are finally back together! Yes, I know, time passes slowly when you have a weekly strip. Still, I'm glad I made it weekly; when I was trying to do 3 updates a week, I was mostly doing fillers, and now I've mostly eliminated fillers outside of my birthday and holidays. If I were doing 3 updates a week, I doubt I'd be able to do canonical comics as well or as regularly. Drawing big groups like in the first panel is tricky; you don't want them all standing stiff (Unless they have a reason to be stiff, like if they're frozen with fear or something). You need to give everyone a different, interesting pose. That's a big plus to having a very cartoony art style; you can have everyone exaggeratedly express their emotions to spice things up! Sugar Rush may have been all for Gelatin Boy fighting his own battles, but that doesn't mean she isn't tempted to intervene. Jackknife does have that kind of attitude that screams, "Please punch me in the face!" I love the coloring I did for the backgrounds in this strip. Normally, I just use a darker shade of the color of the wall for the background shadow. This time, though, I drew a black shadow on a layer, and made it translucent with 10% visibility. I think I like it better. Do you?
  17. TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Gelatin Boy may be slippery and silent, but he's got a few things to learn about being a spy...! Necros may not have quite as many gadgets as Belt Boy, but given that he created the Necrobots, is it any surprise he's got a holographic watch in his gloves? In case you were wondering, yes - Sugar Rush's face in the fourth panel IS a reference to the meme-ified Yellow Diamond "You CLOD!" face. Her expression looked a bit different before, but when I noticed it looked a little bit like Yellow Diamond, I decided to take it a bit further. It's a bit subtle, but I'm proud of the way I drew Dino-Mo in the last panel, with her leaning to one side, and having her hands be asymmetrical. I'm trying to get a bit more inventive with my poses, and I think it makes her look a bit livelier. Sorry for this being a relatively late update for the second week in a row; technical difficulties combined with my working and sleeping odd hours this week have complicated my webcomic work schedule a bit. I think things should be back to normal next week *knock on wood*, when my work schedule becomes a bit more regular.
  18. http://TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Woo-hoo! The comic is finally up! If you visited my website this morning and noticed it didn't update, that's because of some technical difficulties I've (mostly) got under control for the time being. Remember; if I'm unable to update, or if there are any other issues, I'll let you know on social media. Sometimes, I'll even show you my comic on social media when I'm not able to access my site, like I did today. In any event, if you're reading this, today's strip is up and running! Thank you for your patience! Not much to say about this strip, except that I love Sugar Rush's mock salute in panel 2. And that it's hard to draw a comic on a computer that intermittently freezes!
  19. TheHeroesOfCRASH.com The Necrobots corner their prey, and quickly discover they fell for the ol' switcheroo. After a few weeks of fillers around my birthday, the canonical comics have returned! Many thanks to Ken Bailey and YouWillNeverKnow for their submissions, and to all of you for being patient! This comic took me a while to figure out. Oddly enough, the first panel was the last one I sketched out; I had a clear vision for what I wanted to do in all the other panels, but I wasn't sure how I wanted to show the Necrobots giving chase. I was initially going to view them from a straight-on angle, but with their unusual curved necks and hunched-over posture, they look a lot better from a side or three-quarters view. I think the lead Necrobot's posture and legs show off how much of their design was inspired by velociraptors. This strip took quite a few layers to get the right look, especially for the last panel. That "ZOOM" streak is actually broken up into two layers; one that passes in front of the Necrobots and one behind them, so as to create the illusion of Sugar Rush zipping right through them. While working on this strip, I realized that the last time I drew Sugar Rush, she was off-model. A few strips ago, she was shown wearing no belt, red briefs, and white leggings. She's supposed to have a red belt, a white leotard, and red leggings. Whoops... Methinks that I forgot to draw one line, and it threw off all her colors from the waist down! I may go back and fix it... If I don't, I'll just say it's an homage to the many animation errors from the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series.
  20. http://TheHeroesOfCRASH.com I mentioned last week that YouWillNeverKnow is a longtime fan, having submitted some redesigns of Miss Sunflower and Sister Sledgehammer for this year's traditional category, and having submitted multiple entries in past years' contests. Well, YWNK is such a dedicated fan, that he submitted an entry for BOTH categories this year, and won the Generated Fan Art category! He recreated all 10 of the student cast members using RPG Maker MV! His entry features (Clockwise from bottom left) Belt Boy, Sugar Rush, Unk, Gelatin Boy, Dodge, Titanium Maiden, Jackknife, Dino-Mo, Enticia, and Cannon. Thats quite an adventuring party! However, due to a lack of time (I had some family emergencies this week; don't worry, all is relatively well) and for the sake of simplicity, I only recreated my main three for his reward drawing. Maybe these three are the characters you start off with, and you need to find and unlock the other seven throughout the game...? I tweaked BB, Cannon, and TM's designs from his submission, partly because it's a little hard to make out all the details on their pixelated forms, and because I didn't want to give EVERYONE a blue cape. I made Cannon's into a scarf, which seemed a bit more anime-ninja-esque, and TM's into a neck accessory for her dress. I imagine that BB's some sort of knight or warrior and Cannon's a ninja, but I'm not sure what TM's class is in this drawing, based on her outfit. Perhaps she's an Amazon princess? Nah, if that were the case, she'd have a golden lasso and star-spangled swimsuit armor. If you have any thoughts as to what TM's class is, leave a comment. Perhaps you may even have some ideas as to what the other party members' classes are! Thanks again for the awesome fan art, YouWillNeverKnow! :-D This was quite a birthday treat!
  21. TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Well, folks, here it is: the winning entry for my annual contest's Traditional Fan Art category! In this incredible drawing, Ken has drawn Titanium Maiden alongside his own muscle-bound heroine, the Mighty EnergyGirl (Or just "E-Girl" for short), and they seem to be dealing with an ornery offscreen onlooker! Given that TM's courage seems to be overriding her usual sense of self-consciousness, there's a good chance that the hidden heckler is probably Cannon. The Mighty Energygirl is not like most superheroes or superheroines; for one, she's a lot beefier than most (Save for Titanium Maiden and She-Hulk), and for another, she's a middle-aged housewife, and finally, she frequently outshines her husband, the reality-altering superhero known as CartoonistMan. While I don't have a link to his work (He doesn't have a traditionally-archived webcomic site), you can check out his art on Facebook, on the page entitled "The Mighty EnergyGirl" or in the group, "Fans of Mighty EnergyGirl and Femtastic". Thanks, Ken, for the amazing artwork! The runner-up is longtime fan YouWillNeverKnow, with some redesigns of Miss Sunflower and Sister Sledgehammer. Appearing less cybernetic and more demonic, Miss Sunflower looks so scary, you'll probably think twice about chuckling at her name! You can check out the picture below. As promised, Ken Bailey and YouWillNeverKnow's artwork will soon be added to the Fan Art page. As winner, Ken will get to choose what I draw for the next downloadable desktop wallpaper, and runner-up YWNK will receive a digital sketch. Next week, I'll be unveiling the winner of the Generated Fan Art category winner, so stay tuned!
  22. 5/19/18 - Happy Birthday to Me!

    Thanks, MSFrost. :-)
  23. TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Villains have a way of making the most harmless-sounding words seem menacing. What on earth could "The Playground" be? And why is Necros so sure that Belt Boy's friends won't be able to follow him? Stay tuned, everyone! I don't want to spoil too much, so don't expect a huge explanation on this week's strip. But I will tell you this; "The Playground" is a fairly recent name I came up with for something I had a vague idea of for a long while. I think that this new name will solidify some of my ideas, and I look forward to implementing them. Also, "teeter-totter" is a funny word. Tee-hee! We're in the home stretch of my annual contest! You have until May 19th to send me either fan art or a video game avatar based on my characters! If you were waiting until the last minute, this is it! Remember that EVERY properly submitted entry will earn you a prize of some sort in the form of art from yours truly, so everyone wins something!
  24. TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Belt Boy's creation debuted WAAAAAY back in strip #96... over ten years ago! Up until now, the Detach-a-Cape has only been used in battles against Miss Sunflower. The first time kept Sunflower from grabbing him (Eat your heart out, Edna Mode!). It would later be mentioned in strip #253 before being used to taunt and misdirect Miss Sunflower six strips later. This strip shows a lot of mingling between Enticia and Dino-Mo's teams, which I kinda like. It gives the characters to bounce off each other in ways they haven't before. I particularly like the dynamic between our two orange friends, Unk and Gelatin Boy. The two are such a contrast - Unk being huge, powerful, and laid back, while GB is small, weak, and in a constant state of anxiety - that I kinda want to put them together in future strips, if I can find the opportunity...! The biggest obstacle between the two hanging out is probably Jackknife; the only reason he's not bothering them right now is because he's putting his stalking skills to good use as a lookout.
  25. http://TheHeroesOfCRASH.com Necros tries to deduce how Belt Boy slipped away. Perhaps if Necros took Belt Boy's friends the least bit seriously, he'd have gathered intel on 'em and know who was responsible for his foe's escape. Sharp-eyed readers may notice a subtle shadow in the first and third panels, but it's probably nothing... Quick reminder: there's LESS THAN A MONTH LEFT to enter my art trade/contest!
