I thought "Cunning Plan" was a code name for the "Punning Clan" from which I am descended.

Or she can get flustered at being labeled "superheroine's potential mate" instead of "young woman who assists heroes with her God-like soccer skills and who may or may not be romantically interested".

Not exactly.  Ellen copied Nanase's Guardian form directly, she didn't copy Nanase and then cast the spell.  There's also the fact that the Guardian spell is an extremely special case, which may or may not require divine intervention/approval to use.
If Ellen could copy Cheerleadra and obtain all her powers, I would think Ellen and Elliot would know it by now, given how much time they spend together and how willing Elliot would likely be to try it once the idea occurred to them.
Huh.  Now why didn't it occur to me before to see whether a wizard could learn the Cheerleadra spell itself?  That would certainly solve a great many problems, plus add to the wizard's arsenal of tricks considerably!  I suspect it wouldn't be that easy, though; most likely Elliot's Dewitchery Diamond-influenced spells would be a bit "off" to other magic users, and thus difficult for anyone else to obtain.
Read a few comics further.  As soon as this is brought up, Edward tells Elliot to just change his face more the next time he becomes Cheerleadra.  Elliot can control what he looks like as Cheerleadra, probably as much as he can control his appearance any other time he's female.  This is later comfirmed when he becomes a completely different-looking superhero with the griffins later on.
This might be another case of magic with a lot of moving parts, with Elliot's "girlie-morphs" spell and his "superheroine" spell interacting.  That would likely make it even harder for anyone else to truly become a fully-powered Cheerleadra copy.  Tedd was having trouble reading Susan's fairydoll spell, remember, because it was an interaction between her summoning chest and Nanase's fairydolls.  I'd love to see Tedd's reaction to observing Elliot using his Cheerleadra-cell-phone spell....  :-D

If the title of this storyline is Escape From the Mall, I think we all will be very disappointed if we don't have at least one cameo by Snake Plisskin.
Also, I guess Rhoda will never need to look for Large Print editions.

I'm thinking Rhoda told Catalina about it fairly recently, or maybe it was an accidental thing during another date. Catalina's question and Rhoda's response feels similar to Elliot and Ashley talking about Elliot's girl form....and Catalina and Rhoda seem to be going to the book store...interesting, does Rhoda know all the security blind spots as well?

Edward may no longer have the authority to order an official cover-up, and may be limited in what resources he may use to undertake a cover-upon his own.  But he still has influence.  Moose and Squirrel Wolf and Cranium still appear quite loyal to him on a personal level and Assistant Director Liefeld would likely brush aside a lot of questions about Agent Verres' activities, up to a point.
Edward most likely knows Exactly how far he push his power before bureaucratic red flags are raised in the wrong offices.
Edit:  Or perhaps I should say Edward THINKS he know how far he can push his power.  Having the FBI turn against one of their own would be an interesting plot development...

While Ellen has been known to fly while using her Copy powers, Nanase and Grace, if I remember correctly, have the most reliable access to floating or flying abilities.  Combine that with Tedd's adaptation of Uryuom tech and Agent Veres would have no trouble making The-Unfortunately-Named-Cheerleader-Themed-Superheroine appear somewhere while Elliot was in class at Moperville North.  But that means one or more of Elliot's known associates at Moperville South will be conveniently absent at the moment in question.  How to get around that one...
Transcribed from Moperville Radio, 06:08 AM, Friday.
"...weather on the sevens was brought to you by Moperville Meats in the Shive Plaza on Daniel Avenue."
"We have just received an announcement from Moperville Unified School District.  Moperville South High School will be closed today due to a boiler failure.  This is an ordinary maintenance problem and the school will be running normally on Monday.  There nothing suspicious about this."
"Now we'll get back to our Sports-Talk chat with Wayne Gretzky's Assistant Equipment Manager from the 1977 - 78 Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds..."
    Edit: spelling

Hmmm. Let's see, Catalina and Rhoda are at the mall. What could set off Catalina? Perhaps insensitive remarks about Rhoda by a pair of insensitive jerks who have also been seen in the same mall today?
I wonder if Catalina's newfound power encompasses giant lion-bears. Talk about Code Spooky.

That seems pretty likely really.  Edward has a real point about poor acoustics and background noise.  Between that and nobody likely to be standing real close to a fight between a superhero and a monster, and neither Elliot or Dunkel being exactly common names.  I wouldn't be too startled if the press were currently all camped out in front of the house of somebody names Leah Duncan, because her Facebook page shows her with pink hair.

Or she could be something like "Jennifer Elliot Dunkel", perhaps with "Elliot Dunkel" being one of those hyphenated names without the hyphen, like Duff Cooper or Spencer Churchill (The male line of Churchills descendent from the Duke of Marlborough died out some generations ago. BTW, this is why the late Princess Diana was related to Winston Churchill.)
However, this isn't the big reason why "This is a thing that can happen" isn't likely to be an very effective solution to the problem. At least two witnesses at the Mall who are not Tensaided, Catalina, or Rhoda know who Elliot Dunkel is because they go to Moperville North. And unless Carol is incredibly clueless, she's going to remember that her little sister Sarah had a childhood friend named "Elliot" even if she wasn't interested enough to ask who Sarah's been dating. To really make the pink-haired-girl-Elliot-who-is-not-Elliot-Dunkel dodge work, Edward would have to set up falsified records for Mall Elliot. This is something he did for Ellen and Grace, but that was before he got booted upstairs.
Presuming Edward does that, there still has to be a "real" Mall Elliot to seal the deal. This is as doable as Justin's plan to conceal Cheerleadra's secret identity by having Grace pose as Elliot.
Of course, this doesn't cover the interesting factoid that "classic Cheerleadra" looks like Ellen. Do you think there could have been any students from Moperville South at the mall who maybe thought Floating Jesus said "Ellen Dunkel"?

The Dunkel residence really should have been inundated by the press and curiosity seekers when Elliot tried to go home Saturday night, although it's possible he spent the night at the Verres place.

I think Cap meant using so many pronouns when talking about multiple persons to whom the pronouns could reasonably refer (Tedd, Edward, Elliot). It's pretty clear who they refer to, though.
I only remember that for flying on the staff. Chisame was pretty freaked out by all the crazy right from her first appearance, there was a school club dedicated to keeping track of the giant glowing tree, and Negi had a spell that was basically the MIB neuralizer (not that I remember it ever working offhand). But with Ashley meeting Tedd, we might get to see the age-changing pills from Negima eventually.

Nah, Tedd is currently in a male form, I think you're okay using "he" unless/until there's some indication that Tedd is feeling female/wishing he could take female form right now.  Dan has been using pronouns to fit Tedd's form and/or spirit for a while now, I tend to follow his lead.
I suspect part of Tedd's reticence is because he knows that his dad knows the criteria for giving a magic mark -- telling his dad he got a transgender mark would be the same thing as telling him he has a strong desire and/or it's part of his inherent nature to be able to switch gender.
Personally I'm hoping that Tedd's dad isn't as condemning as Tedd fears he'll be.  Edward expressed an honest worry that spending too much time transformed as a girl wouldn't be good for Tedd.  If/when Edward learns more about gender fluidity, or figures out that it applies to Tedd, he might express relief to learn that there isn't anything harmful in it after all.  Maybe even gratitude to the existence of the TFG for sparing him gender dysphoria.  I can see Grace slowly influencing Edward, slipping bits of information on transgender and gender fluidity into conversations or leaving web pages open on the computer for Edward to find.

If Susan could get her karaoke score up to something reasonable, she could be saving the hammers for when she forms a Peter, Paul, and Mary tribute band.

I think I suggested once before that Diane might actually be attracted to Justin, but he was always unavailable, first because of Melissa, and afterward because of his gayness. That could even provide extra impetus for her "Mongoose" reaction to Ronin's posting of Elliot's alleged gayness, and of her ambivalent reactions to her discoveries about Elliot here, here, and here. Diane isn't giving up on Elliot even after all the questions about his sexual identity--and Diane's--that are being raised.
And an attraction to Justin would be yet another similarity between Diane and Susan. I'm really looking forward to when Diane discovers that Susan actually made out with Justin once.

I think she'd been having more fun with Nase and probably managed to avoid getting into confrontations with offensive people. But yeah it's likely knowing what the hammers were intended for originally that put her off using them, unless to actually defend herself with.
