The Old Hack got a reaction from RainbowWizard in Story Monday October 10, 2016
Um. How do you figure? I visualised Moperville as being a funnel for magic flowing in from everywhere else -- like an indentation in the terrain, as it were -- and the clog as being a blockage that kept magic from dropping out through the bottom of the funnel. When was a specific source of magic mentioned?

Hazelnut flavored coffee with hazelnut cream, and cream.
I may be going a bit overboard on this.

I love this sequence too! Forget the April Fools gang, who we've never seen again anyway, I want to see this group again. :-)
I do find it slightly jarring that Tedd becomes Tess, a name we see as female, but Sarah stays Sarah. There should be some male name that's close to Sarah. Sean, perhaps? Harry sounds closer but doesn't look much like Sarah.

The Moderator: Please, no politics in the regular threads. I reopened the political thread a little while ago if people desire to discuss matters.

Is she going to be mounted in a special device and given a backwards spin?

I dunno. Possibly if it is one of the new Airbus 340 models. Probably not if it is a Boeing or an older generation Airbus. If it is a McDonnell Douglas, it's a bit of a tossup. But I'd say yes if it is an MD-11.

Catalina plan: sneak into sports store, get rappelling rope and gear, go to roof of mall, wait for helicopter to pass, attach rope to helicopter, get lifted away, unnoticedly climb rope, wait for helicopter to land, sneak off helicopter pad...
Did I forget something?

See this is why EGS needs more villains who will do the things we all know are wrong....but would be cool to see. Kind of like the Evil Mad Bomber What Bombs at Midnight. Yeah he's completely crazy but haven't we all wanted to blow something up? We just need an Evil Mad Morpher What Morphs in Moperville....or something.

The sound track. I'm thinking something by John Williams, in the line of Indiana Jones. Or the TV version of the Mission:Impossible theme.

Let's see. My chip sets
Digital Equipment Corporation PDP-11 (Not actually mine, but I worked on it for 3 years, starting as a student then got a job a Jr. SysAdmin. That was in the Ford and Carter years) Cosmic Elf 1802 I had the "expanded" version. I had 1024 bytes of memory. Nike Hercules Fire Control Computer. Had vacuum tubes and just enough digital bits to count in this context. Also not really mine, just one of my Army jobs. Zilog Z80 MOS Technology 6502 (actually 6510, same thing but could do weird things with memory paging) Patriot Fire Control Computer. Again, Army stuff. PDP-11 Again. Army also. Intel 8088 (Real IBM PC) Intel 80286 (Real IBM AT, which in my arrogant opinion, had the best keyboard ever used on a consumer class computer) A large number various 80386 machines. Intel Pentium Pro (was an home entertainment system with a cable ready video card thing. Had drivers for Window 95 and that was it.) 3 I don't remember, but were take homes from work any way. PPC G4 (Power PC) which despite the name wasn't in a PC, but an Apple PPC G3 PPC G5 2 x PPC G4 (Yes, I bounced up and down the power scale) 3 x Intel Core 2 Duo of various speeds I never had any thing based on the 68000 series of chips. I was, and still am, rather attached to a command line option, bash1 if I can get it. Apples pre OS X didn't have that option, so I never got a Mac pre OS X. I'm not counting tablets2, PDA, phones, etc. in this list. I've been on Mac's almost exclusively from 2002 on, other than when I had a take home machine.
1If for some reason I'm on a PC machine that I can't load Linux on, I load cygwin, which give me a bash shell for the command line, and most of the GNU tool chain.
2 See all my rants about getting a either Linux or something like that on my RCA table

I only started reading Girl Genius just over a year ago (this was the newest comic, one of the few comics where I remember exactly where it was), and have read it through twice in that time period.
That said, I agree with this statement....

I landed my first programming job and started on the 6th. It's at a relatively small startup that deals with enterprise software, virtual reality simulations, and augmented reality safetywear. Currently I'm working on small, bite sized tasks on the web frontend, but due to the nature of the company I'm likely to broaden out into numerous other things beyond the web dev stuff. It's a contract-to-hire position, so I'll be doing taxes as a contractor for the first time in my life, and getting paid once a month as opposed to twice a month, so...that's going to be fun to figure out, especially as I've gone through three different jobs at three different tax brackets this year. (Was a petrochemical laboratory technician from July 25th through October 5th).

I don't have a hamster. I've got a squirrel1 that alternates between hibernating and running like crazy. Some times he jumps to another tree and makes weird noises.
1Not related to Grace, I'm fairly sure.

I think something like Queen of Chaos would work better. (Demi)goddess implies that she has some special providence over chaos, but really, she just likes it a lot.
