Pharaoh RutinTutin replied to WR...S's topic in Comic Discussion
Sadly, most people get more formal training for their paid jobs than they do for (what should be) their most important job. Edward Veres has done some things wrong in the process of raising Tedd. But I still would not call him a bad parent -

The group could argue semantics with the Cheshire Fried Colonel all day but I suspect that Edward wants to hear what the immortal has to say before he gets bored and fades away. -

I see him smiling and all I can think is how he shows his pearly whites. But he does have pretty teeth. -
Just how high is the ceiling in that room? I can't help but think that if it was significantly over the typical ten to twelve feet common in American homes, Tedd would have been using the space for magical flight testing long before Grace showed up. On a related note... HEY SCIENCE GUYS!!! WHERE IS MY JET PACK!?

http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=2250 The reactions on the faces in the September 16, 2016 comic is one of the best sets Dan has ever collected in a single panel. Nanase, Grace, Tedd, and Edward should use these pictures for their passports.

Enough with the establishing and background and set up and preliminaries. To quote a line that was almost certainly never uttered by Marie Antoinette, LET THEM EAT CAKE

http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=2237 Does this mean the fact that Adam West DID NOT play Boba Fett is canon? Because that would have been so incredible if he performed that role under an assumed name with the stipulation that the truth would not be revealed until after his death- 14 replies

I do hope that wasn't secular mackerel. -

Humans are related to apes? Sure, I'll buy that. But why must humans be "Great" apes? Must we label everything to feed the human ego? -
A job listing for "Aberrations" on Monster dot Com?

Had french-fries again tonight with mayonnaise and hot sauce. -
So what is the proper term to describe someone who would, if tested. appear to have an intellectual capacity within the "normal" range but who produces substandard results because of improper training, improper supervision, or apathy?

The bruise following the surgery is healing. But I don't think physical therapy and rehabilitation is likely with advanced dementia. -
I believe mlooney is referring to the Oedipus legend. But I could be wrong. Let me check with Dr Freud... Nope, I was right. According to Freud it is certainly Oedipus.

For some reason, I imagine Grace offering the rebuttal. "Mr Voltaire? I do not doubt the sincerity of your beliefs and convictions. And I do not have enough information to meaningfully criticize the technical details of your plan. However, I must oppose any actions that will result in the death of my friends." -
This brings up the technical problem, again, regarding whether or not shrunken people could derive nutrition from normal sized food (or if normal sized people could be nourished by enlarged food). I am among those who suspect it may be possible to grow reduced size food plants that would allow for more food to be grown per acre and transport a greater volume of food within currently available spaces. Then the food could be expanded to full size before consumption allowing the normal sized human to digest it normally. By the way, "IBWUHNO". Is that supposed to represent Rhoda's incoherent mumbling? Or is that some sort of abbreviation?

It is entirely possible that without the major plague outbreaks, the European Renaissance may have been delayed or prevented. The effect of the plague was comparable to the Neutron Bomb, for you late boomer types. A lot of people died. But buildings were still intact. Cities were inhabitable. Gold and silver still filled vaults. Fields were still ready for planting and harvesting. Books could still be read. Once the worst was over and the mess had been cleaned up, the survivors often found themselves in better positions than their ancestors at the start of the outbreak. This environment was a significant contributor to the emerging age of enlightenment. -

C diff My mom is in the hospital and has it. Possibly contracted it along with a UTI in the rehab center where she was supposed to recover from a broken hip. Any suggestions? By the way, C diff is an bacterial infection in the intestine. Symptoms start with diarrhea and get worse. I hope we don't need to be too specific about the details... -

I doubt we need to worry about the humans in that room simply accepting anything the glow worm says at face value. Will he deliver his message and disappear? Will he stick around for a conversation? Will the others "Power-Up" (Omega Grace, Guardian Form, Power Gauntlet)? Will there be a call for back up (Arthur, Assistant Director Liefield, Wolf, Cranium, Lavender, Adrian, Noriko, Mrs Kitsune, Phill)? Will Dr Germahn enter the scene and turn this potential conflict into a Q&A Panel? -

I was expecting Pandora or Les Immortels to intrude on Edward's war council. If the Cheshire Fried Colonel believed that Dame Tara could not harm him, I doubt he feels intimidated by anyone in the current peanut gallery. Although it potentially could be equivalent to an armed person shouting threats as they enter a doughnut shop. -

Didn't you pay attention in orientation? That trick doesn't work. -
That had nothing to do with any human acting tradition. This was an early mind control attempt by the Tribble on his head.
